we had a great time..the weather was awesome and wind wasnt bad at all. sun was bright and warm at times. i went with my girlfriend and my 3 dogs. We stayed way passed bath #8 towards the left side..we were the only ones towards that end. i rode towards the main road and saw some DDR THs but no one around. i was going to stop by and say hi. It sucked riding by myself..i shouldve gotten in on your group rides.

dude those idiots got what they deserved..i hate litterbugs especially at dumont...pisses me off just thinkin about what they did.

yeah atleast in back of my bed i can see them..in the TH i wont be able to see them at all...that makes me nervous

i know alot of you guys take your dogs right in your truck/TV but anyone transport their dogs in their crates inside the TH? i just got a new dog and now we have 3. I used to put the crates in the back of my truck bed but with 3 crates it takes up alot of room.

yeah we heard about that from one of the vendors last week when we were there over spring break, but using recycled pieces of old asphalt, the vendor didn't seem to think that that was a good idea but hey, actually after that road last week, anything would be better than what's there now...will be interesting to see how well it all works and if it stays together. we are sure they all "know what they are doing"--good to see our $$$ being put to use.

Dont know if this has been posted yet but just a heads up for the weekend of 21st and 22nd. The Baker to Vegas relay race is that weekend so there will be runners and slow vehicles on the 127 from Baker all the way to Vegas..expect major delays. So just wanted to let everyone know so that if you are planning to head out there that weekend that you will probably want to leave earlier, take an alternate route, or whatever you need to do also side note, the road into dumont is really horrible, very rough, :mc_smiley: so also be prepared for some rough riding on the way in...

man sounds like u guys had a blast...well i made it there early sun morning about 9am. met up with my group and set everything up...i went for a ride lookin for the DDR camp but couldnt find it..i guess i didnt try hard enough..anyways i wanted to meet the DDR group but i guess i have to wait til next trip. i had a blast non the less. great weather and great riding..seemed like it was more crowded last yr Prez weekend. I stayed til today(weds) and just got home..glad i wasnt sittin in traffic.

I was in dumont this past sun-weds and there was a pretty large movie crew filmin a movie for the scifi channel...a movie or tv series called Sands Of Oblivion. Looked cheesy and sounds cheesy if u ask me. But they had about 3 filming sets set up around the place and i tried to park and camp far away from them. well it didnt help because even though the place was empty besides us and the movie crew they kept on driving next to our camp over and over again to go back and forth from set to set...What the hell!! they didnt have the courtesy to drive alittle out and not so close to our camp.. i just dont get it.. Anyways needless to say i had a great time like always. The last day as we were packing up the host came by and told us about the movie and how these people didnt know ANYTHING about the sand. The host told me they got their trucks stuck numerous times throughout the day and he had to get them out. Oh well i didnt care anymore because i was leaving.Well as i was leaving on the dirt road next to the host's camp i see a suburban going about 50-60 mph towards me kicking up major dust. Again i think to myself what the hell is this moron doing...dont these people see the 15mph sign and that they r kicking up dust headin right towards me?? Anyways they pass by me clueless as they can be. i wanted to do something but i was tired and didnt want to get into anything with stupid people. So if anyone is going out this coming up weekend enjoy because they r going to be there till sat..

Ill be out there those days..i know its sun and weekdays but thought maybe some of u will make it out. let me know if u r...im hoping ill get my dumont dune rider sticker tomorrow before the trip so if i do u will see it on my attitude....come by and say hi

ok for parallel hook up i know its pos to pos and neg to neg but does it really matter if both the leads going to the trailer go from one battery? or should i hook it up like the diagram above??

thought id mention the dirt road going into dumont was perfect...no ruts, ditches, etc...ive never seen the road so perfect..anyways had a nice 3 day trip..weather was great and my new quad ran great! hope the road stays like that..yeah right!

ive noticed alot of trash my last trip to dumont....nails, broken glass, plastic bottles, broken chairs..u name it i saw it. my girlfriend and i are very good in packing everything out. we actually recycle so we take all our cans and plastic bottles home. My girlfriend actually walks around with our dogs and picks up trash that idiots left behind. The concept of picking up your trash seems so easy but i guess hard to do for some people.

thanks for the info, wish we would have seen this before...came back yesterday (tues) and it took 1 hour and almost 20 minutes to get from Baker to past Basin road...not fun
