  1. I am not a stunt rider but I know there are several groups that do this. I saw one group that did stunt at the Bull Ring at LVMS. You should check out youtube. No offense to anyone here but most of us are recreation riders and mainly hit the dunes. Youtube should have some videos of crews doing stunts.

What company do you work for, I swear I know you. I have worked events in Las Vegas for 6 years now. I own LVproDJ and worked for 2 other companies.

  2. I wanna see some video from that. I am not sure about all this 3D stuff, TVs, and Games and all. I read the Gopro system comes with editing software and stuff to. Sounds really cool.

I only have one camera right now, so I would have to get a second.

The new 3D system is sweet. Just got mine this morning. I highly recomend it for the extra $100.

  3. There is supposed to be a plan in California to connect other high Speed Rail lines with Victorville. Sometime in the sometime to never future. Rail is dead in the US and always will be, people like their cars too much, at least until gas gets up more. This High-speed rail is a joke anyway, it's still old technology. The monorail to Anaheim makes way more sense, and it uses more modern technology. The Monorail also goes to a real destination.

  4. I have the same Camera, I also use a Flip camera. There are tons of programs out there from $99 to $1,000 plus.

I use Sony vegas 9 and it's about a $499 program I think. But I have also used Vegas Movie Studio Platinum (about $99). No, the programs really don't have anything to so with Las Vegas, it's just the name.

The higher level the program the more you can do with it basically. Most of the transition and text options will be generally the same but you can do more layering of the videos, stretching, and music add-ins with the higher programs.

make sure you get a decent Memory card. They say to use a Class 4 or higher. I have a 16gig now and record on 720P - 60fs.

Also, DON'T TRUST THE SUCTION CUP. I lost my first hero when the suction cup let go, and i think someone found it.

  5. I have been twice now in the last couple of weeks. I live in North Las Vegas. I have gone on Blue Diamond (the 160), and through Tecopa both times. It took me a little over 2 hours towing 2 Quads on an open trailer. The road to Tecopa, Old Spanish Trail I think it is, is pretty rough in areas but the drive is interesting. It least it has been these first couple of times. If i were towing a Toy Hauler though I would go through Pahrump. There is a set of pretty tricky corners on the Old Spanish Trail way that I would not want to go on with a Hauler. I would also not want to beat up my Hauler on the Rough Road.

  6. :laughing::laughing:

Pretty much! Nellis is ok for a quick fix.

If you do end up going out with your nephew, we will be out this weekend Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. We could show you around, sounds like everyone we know is heading to Glamis this weekend, so it should be a quiet one! We camp by BR#6 and have a Nomad hauler and a grey Seirra.

He flys in on Saturday, but I might be able to come down Sunday. I have to work Saturday night though. The life of a DJ. Thanks for the invite.

  7. There weren't many riders out there when we were there, so we had to explore ourselves. It wasn't too bad. Would have been nice to have someone with knowledge though.

my nephew will be here next week from Oregon and he said he wants to go. He's not to adventurous but if he wants to go I will take him, it's a good enough excuse. Not sure when we will go, but maybe Tuesday or Thursday.

I thought the drive was going to be farther, but it took us about 2 hours. we went through Tecopa and down. My escape does well, and I got 18.8 mpg at about 65-70mph.

I can also see why you don't ride at nellis after riding at Dumont Nellis really sucks.

  8. Nice! I liked that cut view! That was pretty bad a$$!

So how did you like your first Dumont trip?

The first trip was good. The sand did seem weird to me and the main dunes are HUGE. Much bigger then I am used to. Can't wait to go again, hopefully before it gets too hot this year.

  9. I put this little video together today from some shots we got on our first Day run last Thursday.

  10. It always sucks when losing riding area no matter what the reason. I guess of all the reasons I have heard, for the Marine corp is the best.

I have Oregon tags on my ATVs and going to give that a try. People mention to stop buying the green stickers, so buy them from out of state??? not sure how that would go over. May make more areas close, since they will just say they don't have money. Which we know Cali is BROKE. :stirthepot:

For the Vegas Folks... Nellis/Apex may be within the next few years. They have posted signs that say something about "higher then normal levels of Arsenic have been found" by some college study. Further studies are being conducted and the results are supposed to take a few years.

  11. Can't speak for any other days besides friday, but there was alot of people in the camping area, but nobody riding the dunes.. What a great day, the dunes were steep! the ridges were crisp! and you had better have brought your A game if you were going to do some serious riding.. It was awesome! The sand was finally dry for the first time in months and the shapes of the dunes must have recently been remolded due to some high winds?

a little video for anyone who wasnt there friday!

That is a nice quality video.... Definitely like riding the tops. That is some skill to do that going that fast IMO.

  12. Holly sh*t.... You know it's going to happen, and i tried to turn the bike and hit the brakes anyway... That is SCARY. My biggest fear by far has always been a collision over a ridge, or jumping but that moved up on my list A LOT right there. Glad all is well (now I know it is), losing a bike can't be good on the wallet.

Here's a little snippet of my sons accident. All is well except the bikes...

  13. yep, you read it... I got a brand new Hero HD Camera for my B-day Yesterday. I got the motorsports pack and will be buying the handlebar mount.

I lost one of the original Hero Cameras about a year ago at Nellis. The damn suction cup let go somewhere, and I'm pretty sure some a$$ found it and kept it.

Can't wait to try this out. I got the mount on my helmet already and looking for spots on each quad.

  14. I can feel the front bottom out when i land. I didn't feel the frame hit and in slow motion it doesn't look like it did but it might be the frame instead of the suspension to.

Last night i reset the rebound, and went one turn higher on the front springs. I won't be able to test it out this weekend, Daytona 500, but soon.

  15. Thanks all, I was thinking rebound but wasn't sure which way to go. Next time out i will make a few adjustments and see what happens.

the bounce feels worse then it looks, just like the jumps feel higher then they look... lol But part of my concern was as I get better, and faster, the bounce getting bigger and more of an issue. A few times the back kicked out on take off, then the bounce kicked on landing. Want to get this figured out so I can go bigger.

I did a frame by frame on the video in Photoshop and the bounce looks worse in the frames.

  16. Hey all, I was out riding yesterday on the Raptor at Nellis Dunes. I have been picking up my speed when hitting jumps recently and I have noticed now that when i land the bike is bouncing. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I'm not sure if an adjustment on the current (stock) suspension will help or not. I still want to hit some bigger jumps and concerned the bouncing will get worse and cause issues.

If you look at the last jump close you can really see the bike bounce in this video. This is a 3rd gear jump and i thinks it's maybe 5-6 ft. high and about 25 ft distance.
