  1. Adam, I told you you were always welcome at our camp. We would even have room in the trailer for an air bed and a sleeping bag. I have both. Usually the M/H is full but there is room in there and it can be a little cold but it's better than sleeping in a truck ot=r tent. Besides my car likes the company:) Seriousilly anytime your more than welcome, just let me know. We are in for MLK Friday afternoon till Monday.

Terry i have haven't forgotten your offer, just looking for the right weekend. this might be a good one. I have a gig on the 13th, but be out after that. You have been going on the busy weekends, and now for the borken record, I just don't want to be out on a busy weekend. i like smooth dunes, and less stress, and less dumb people/drunks. Do you have a cell out there? I think there would be room to sleep solo in the back of my new truck, it's the 4 door super crew F150... hmmm.

  2. The dunes were so ripped up when we were there after Turkey day we really couldn't even ride. Combined with the battery dying, IMO from being bounced to death, and it was overall a wasted trip for me. Since i day trip, i go simply to ride. I don't want to be around for the busy times as I just don't feel safe and that makes it harder to just have fun.

one of these days i will be coming down and crash a camp for a weekend though.

  3. that is Awesome!!!

my dad wants to come down from Oregon for Spring break this year, cause i talk about it all the time when there. I am afraid he will hurt himself or the Razor out there. He's only been to Oregon coast (florence) before,

  4. i am dying to go again, Last time was November, and I need to test out the new truck. :)

I just want to make sure the Dunes won't be too ripped up. Last time I went was the Tuesday after Turkey day, and that was a HUGE mistake.

  5. That TV crew was still there yesterday. Over by 6 i think it is. where i usually go. i had to head over to another area and almost got the Escape stuck. They had TONS of stuff out there with haulers and trucks, and cars and they had some metal fram thing setup in part of the dunes with cones around it.

I can't believe they asked anyone to move!!! what makes them think they have the right to ask people to move? and $100, i agree as above, add a 0 to that. Even with just my truck and open trailer i wouldn't move if they gave me an attitude. I would have called them on the BLM permit thing to, like it says they get what bathroom area or something. that is lame.

  6. That was last weekend at Gordon's. It was Veterans weekend but that isn't even a busy place let alone busy weekend. Busy weekend or not...it can happen any time. It only takes one guy making a bad call.

It's about the odds though, busy weekend = more idiots and higher odds of something. But so true you never know what's over the hill.

  7. i guess it's an engine weight thing to. I had almost 400hp at the wheels on my 4.6l Stage 3 Roush and it ran 91 at about 5lbs boost. I totally get the power thing, and I bet the boost is AWESOME with a light car in the sand. It just seems a little crazy to have to pay for race gas. Again, I'm NOT hating I just don't know much about the engine choices and options for the sandcars. I guess there are a bunch of others that are running pump gas in their cars thought to.

  8. DAMN!!

i hadn't seen that. that was crazy.

That is EXACTLY why i don't plan on going on busy weekends, and that is what scares the sh*t out of me there all the time.

I would have liked to have seen more of the bike and the rail, and the song was too long and loud compared to the other audio. Really though that was a great video to show how fast things can happen and what the results can be.

I know many riders/ drivers are safe but it only takes one slip, one mistake from even the best/ safest rider or driver and BANG! I won't be showing my Fiance that video.

  9. Holly... sh*t I thought the premuim that the Outlaw needs was expensive. I knew guys had toys running on race fuel but that is EXPENSIVE.

How much power are these cars actually running and what engines? Why not build it differently or use a more powerfull base engine so you don't have to run race fuel? Not to mention if you HAVE to run race fuel the engine must be built up and eventually less reliable then a more base engine.

Not trying to be negative or anything, just curious.

  10. I know you can rent from ATV Cycle Sports on Craig off the 15. He has a couple bikes including a SUPER nice yfz450 (The quad) and a few others. Just BS with him and he should give you a decent deal. The 450 is 300 day, but SUPER nice. he has a coupld others including a 400 for about $150. He told me he would put paddle on them. Worst thing is they are NOT tagged for California riding. Just don't do anything stupid. I didn't see any 2 wheelers though. He can rent trailers but I see you can't tow so I'm not sure. Check eTrailers.com for a hitch, if you haven't already.

You can rent a truck from Uhaul. A 17' box can haul 4 standard ATVs or you could rent a F150 from them. You may fit bikes in bed or rent a trailer.

Only other thing I can think of is hopefully someone here will be going down and have room.

  11. the dunes were VERY wet. When we got there in the morning the top layer was wet, but toward the evening it was drying out quite a bit. Some of the areas we went back to and had "chewed up" were back to a dry layer on top. It did make for a rough ride in areas, but the traction was crazy.

  12. i would be interested in a trip. I would have to camp somewhere though. do they have just a camp area or is it just RV?

Could be great for me if i could do Idaho and then go see the family in Oregon, get some beach riding in.

My work schedule is always pretty weird so ultimately if would just depend on how things fell together.
