I would run 35's over 37's. cost a lot less, and less rotating mass = a little better mileage. I have a 2012 cummins, stripped of all the emissions, piped, and custom tuned and its a beast. you seem stuck on Ford so I won't try to sway you away lol. But when you talk lifts, you get what you pay for as far as ride quality goes. Carli, Thuren, Pure performance are 3 companies that make nice progressive rate coils. And shocks, I went Bilstein 5100's. best bang for your buck. Keep in mind you'll most likely need air bags as well depending on how big your new toy hauler is going to be. I had to bag my truck when I lifted it. I tow a 32ft tow behind weekend warrior. If you are even a little mechanically inclined, which i'm guessing you are...you can buy all the parts and lift your own truck in your driveway or your shop and save $. Good look bro.
oh, get some gages and a pyro installed in your exhaust manifold before you start towing real heavy so you can monitor your exhaust gas temps and not melt your head. Newly and Underground Diesel can hook you up.

I'm glad you're both ok, I saw it happen it was pretty violent.
On a side note to this accident, did anyone else that saw the aftermath of this notice how HORRIBLE the law is at driving!? I watched a law man in a rail roll up to the accident from the right, went up above but didn't come stright down at the wreched rail like you're suppose to when you want to stop on a hill...instead he STOPPED compeltly sideways on the hiil directly above the downed rail. He then proceeded to slide downhill sideways, I thought for sure he was going to roll right into the people trying to help. I watched probably 2 other people do this. plus the poor family members friend cut the wheel while hauling in reverse and rolled.
Im glad everyone involved is ok. if you're trying to help some one...good on ya. but be safe doing it, don't cause another accident!

That would be awesome great. Transitioning from active duty AF to civilian life (and new job) mid feb so it'll be sketchy. I think ill be working 4 on 3 off though so I may be able to make it work. if I can, i'm there for sure. I realize ive never really introduced myself so i'll go do that in the proper section. keep ya updated!

Did you pick it up here in Vegas or drive out of state? I've been eye balling them for a while and doin a little research on where to get the best deal. Just curious, thanks!

Im putting the knobbies on the quad and bringing the paddles, headed out in a couple hours!

I'm heading out Thursday night. I would rather be beat down by the dunes than beat down by a long weekend at home. Hope there are alot of vendors out there to support !
^^ yes.
Heading out WED morning. Not even considering not going. Even if the sand is tore up, I'd rather be riding in crappy sand on knobbies, deep frying a turkey, watching my daughter learn how to ride around camp, and laughing with the family around the fire than sitting on my bum at home for 4 days.
I love riding, but just being out there and getting out of Vegas is half of it for me!

How's the weather out there?

I'm hoping to see a couple RZR xp4 1000's out there. Since expanding the family my wife wants one. (I'm not complaining) probably not going to happen until next season but I'd love to see one in action!

Bigedmond,
Just search YouTube you'll find tons of videos showing how to re pack your bearings by hand. It's messy but very important routine maintenance. Just be sure to get good quality high temp wheel bearing grease and a new seal for each of your hubs. (you'll see they're on the back) they are cheap. I go to trailer tech for my parts.
As far as tires go, I'm in the same boat. 32ft weekend warrior I bought used 6 months ago came with cheap tires. Repacked all my bearings and properly inflated before halloween trip to Dumont and blew one on the way back. Luckily I have 16 inch rims already so I'm going with 235 85 r16 BFG Commercial LT tire. Looking forward to peace of mind.

For what it's worth I just got off the phone with the CHP office in Barstow (the closest office to dumont) and talked to the Sgt. He said the CHP will have no part in denying access to dumont....so sounds like we're good to go. I'm going early Saturday I'll post up when I get there.
Thanks to Terry and everyone else for all the info you've provided.

Um, I just dropped off my rail for service, Mfg stated there was a lone chp officer at entrance road to dumont to deny access.?.?
Umm, has this been confirmed or denied yet? Def was planning on going out Friday-Saturday. Ugh this whole situation is frustrating.
-
Perfect, thanks ynot..that's not to far from me. Ohh counting down the days til my family can enjoy a hauler. In the meantime, dry ice it is lol.
-
Hmm, going to have to look into the dry ice, thanks.
-
Thanks guys

Random question guys...Anybody know if someone usually sells ice over holidays? Will be there with my wife and 9 month old daughter the Saturday-Tuesday before Halloween and we couldn't find a toy hauler to rent...usually we just rough it but now with the addition of our daughter it's a little harder to get by out there...bought a new diesel this year so next year we'll finally have a hauler.

Where'd you get it done at? Just picked up my new Ram 3500 and need to get it lined.

Most crowded ive seen it last couple years any holiday. Sand was't that bad though in my opinion thanks to the windy nights and mornings. The sand was WAY worse new years! it was a little warm out there! Ran the AC a bit in the hauler. was down right hot today on our one and only run before we packed up and headed out around sun down. The road was dragged and wet down on the way out which was nice.
