We were planning on going for the whole weekend, but now have family coming in town. SO, my wife and I will be taking my sister, brother in law and their 3 kids plus our daughter out to show them Dumont for a day trip Sunday the 18th. I'll leave the kids in the Rhino and dune with you in our RZR for a run
But we love meeting new friends especially with kids to dune with!

Sounds good Adam, thanks.

I run 2" because of the kids 3" are way to big for them
For that reason im getting 2" in the back for sure. How do you like the 2" for you?
@@foolofsand, thanks man, the fact that you've ran both and would get 3" next time makes me lean that way.
-
my opinion--3" are more compfy and I would get the shoulder harness sewn in so only 1 latch to fiddle with. i have both and hate the ones were I have to put 3 tangs into the lap belt.
Good tip, and yes ill be getting the "sewn in" kind. I guess, with most things, they are personal preference. I've heard from some that the 3" are to bulky, they went from 3" to 2" and are happier. But also have heard the opposite. Guess ill just roll the dice.
Adam ill look into 50 caliber, thanks.

Ill be installing the pass through inserts into our RZR stock seats soon for harnesses, but not sure which size harness to go with. 2" or 3". Chime in with your opinions please, pros and cons, maybe favorite brand. Thanks.
Mike what do you guys carry at GTP? Would like to support you guys if possible.

Stef and I had a great time at the Buggy Round Up. Everyone from DDR was so awesome, we walked up to the fire Friday night after setting up, not knowing ANYONE and were greeted with a warm welcome. A few beers and a fun game later and we felt like we had known everyone all along. Saturday morning Stef and I woke up and went on a run to see how the new paddles worked and make some fresh tracks in the wet sand, the weather was gorgeous after the AM rain cleared, it was a great way to start the day. After some breakfast and a monster everyone was gearing up for the "DDR" run. Wow what a run! Fast run, and great lines! I had to push the RZR hard to keep up with everyone but that's what made it so fun. Stef was white knuckling the oh sh*t bar the whole time and my right ear is still ringing from her yelling at me lol. We spent most of the day in the dunes trying to get in every minute of riding we could. When the sun went down satuday night sh*t got real haha. We had a blast playing flip cup, I think "Team ******* Awesome" holds the belt! Pete's probably laughing his a$$ off right now watching the footage he got with his gopro!
Sunday I was moving a little slow and we decided to pack it up and head home to get some rest before the long work week.
Thanks to Pete for putting this shindig together, it was great meeting you all (way to many people to try to list!) and making awesome new friends. Until next time!

I am actually a close friend to the passenger and the dad of the driver of the RZR 1000 that burned at Dumont. The RZR was only two weeks old, from the driver stated that there was a whining noise coming from the engine, I am assuming the started stayed engaged heated up and started the fire. It is correct that the fuel can did not ignite until most of the RZR was on fire. The passenger had her jacket burned and the driver has the back of his head hair singed but they were both ok.
So to confirm once again it was not the gas tank it was a defect with Polaris. I had this happen on my trans am years back. I installed long tube headers and on an long road trip my starter wires had melted. The next time I turned the car on the starter stayed engaged and dang near burned my car to the ground Luckily it was just a lot of smoke.
Curious if Polaris is doing anything for your friend or if it's being handled by insurance. Seems like if it was a defect from the factory like you say it should be on Polaris.

We rolled into Dumont about 2:30pm Thanksgiving day, we couldn't wait to get unloaded and get some sand under the tires of the new RZR. We took advantage of the time most people we eating and got some ride time in! Back to camp as the sun was setting to make a fire and a late Thanksgiving dinner topped off with smores around the fire. My daughters first time having smores she love em. Friday was all duning all day. With just me in the RZR on stock tires I could go up anything and go anywhere, with the family It was a little different story but still not to bad. Hoping to have paddles by the buggy round up. Friday night it was WINDY and I forgot to put the damn awning up (which I hardly ever put down in the first place.) Saturday the wind never stopped but we didn't let that stop us, I actually had some great runs...The dunes were less crowded and smooth(er). We went on a couple runs Sunday then packed it up and headed back to Vegas.
Overall super happy with the new machine
Water heater went out on the TH so no showers for 4 days
I lost my gas cap only to find it after spending $50 on a new one
Riding the rzr on to ramps to get it to fit in my TH wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be...
150 miles put on the car in 3 days of duning
See you in 2 weeks
