  1. Well I wouldn't say lights out at 10 but some of us do go to bed early and some nights we stay up. Depends on the day. As for rolling in after 10 it is not a problem. Some of us roll in during the night and get set up without any of us being bothered. If we're up we will help you set up and offer you a beer. Directions to Bathroom #9 are; as you come up the hill onto the flats about 300 yards down turn left and try to stay on the rocky ridges as you come out. About 1/4 mile out from the road you will see #9 we are just to the left of it by about 200 feet or so. If you get lost and can't find it at night and you can sleep in your rig without unloading i would stop and find us in the AM so you don't get stuck. The valleys between the ridges sometimes take momentum to get through. Might want to increase speed thru them. It's fairly firm where we park but the little valleys have been a little soft lately. We camp out there to get away from the dust, noise and to make sure we don't get stuck. Friday night there will be my M/H and trailer. FL60 Freightliner w/ 5th wh. a class8 Freightliner w/ 5th wh. and another motorhome with white enclosed trailer. Also a wht/gold Ford F250 with a 20' Salem toy hauler trailer. Hope to see you.
  2. We always camp just to the N/W of bathroom #9. Should have a pretty good circle this trip. Most of the guys ride quads and are very experienced Dumont Riders. You can usually catch a ride with them from kid ride to big boys ride. I have a Alfa motorhome and a white 25'stacker trailer. Other vehicles in camp are a mini Freightliner with a 5th wheel and a class 8 Freightliner Tractor with a 5th wheel. ask for Terry. Our group is older with kids and grandkids. We are not the heavyist partiers but we do enjoy new people and cold beer.
  3. It was very nice meeting Thomas. We all had lunch after the meeting and spent some time talking about the clean up. Hope he got home alright, I know he had a very long drive home. He is dedicated to Dumont and that is a very nice thing to do. He drove 340 miles each way to be at this meeting. That's what this organization needs is people like that!
  4. Great job Pete ! You da Man!! but you need a couple of pics of my little red buggy!
  5. We are hoping to leave Vegas by about 3PM. Be glad to have you join us and/or camp with us. We have a nice camp with kids and do some kiddy rides and have ben know to do some fast rides without the kids. If you are interested in either let me know.

  7. Of course We would! Do you have doubts?
  8. Don, we could run around in circles and wait for you. Would that make you feel better?
  9. I thought you guys adopted me?
  10. We're going out Friday afternoon and some of us are staying till Monday afternoon. Hope you guys can join us.
  11. Joe, your welcome to hang with us at our camp if you don't mind the boonies where we camp.
  12. Yeah I know, I am really not that serious of a guy. I can talk/take a little sh*t now and then.
  13. Bills, did you get my e mail about MLK weekend trip?
  14. There is a meeting of the Friends of Dumont Dunes meeting in Colton,Ca. this Sunday @ 10;00 AM. If anybody wants to get involved now would be a great time! I am leaving Vegas at 6AM and have room for a couple of people if you want to ride down. We will be returning Sunday afternoon. This is your chance to help direct the way the dunes are managed and kept open. Let me know if your interested or need an address if your going down in your own car.
  15. Bummer Tim, I was looking forward to some more runs!
  16. I am afraid to look to even consider how much! In 2005 I bought a new motorhome, 3 new trailers(it's a long story)a new car and 2 quads. That's just 2005. I have been doing this so long that the number's would be staggering. In contrast I have sold a couple of trailers and a truck to offset some of the expense. All in all I could have done something cheaper but I don't know what it would have been. It's a sport where you get to spend time away from home, jobs and phones and spend quaility time with family, friends and the machines that we love. I often think of when I might get out of the sport but just can't see my life without sand. That's why this year I am getting involved with the Friends of Dumont Dunes orginization and the BLM's TRT. I want to keep the dunes open and fun for my grandsons and their kids. Hope you will all help with it to.
  17. I have to say I am so sorry for not going on the ride Sat. Am. I felt really bad as I had suggested it in the first place. I just had a lazy streak and didn't have my act together. I hope everybody had a great time at the dunes cause I can truly say it was one of the best trips for me. Running with Don,Joe,and Tim was the best. Again I am truly sorry for not going Sat. and it won't happen again. Next trip for me is 2 weeks
  18. I too am the only buggy in camp so I am always looking for someone to dune with. I camp near the #9 bathroom just to the north. White Alfa M/H and a white TPD Stacker trailer. Be there Wed. Mid Morning till Sat or Sun. Come by and say HI
  19. I am coming out Wed. AM the 27th and might be leaving on the 30th in the morning. Depends on the "crazy factor" or idiot factor. The dunes begin to lose their fun factor when too many "crazies/idiots" show up. I have been there every holiday weekend for the last 20-30 years and I am begining to really appreciate the quieter ones. But I will be there for the 3:00 buggy ride on Wed. Or did we change that ride to 2:00 also?
