Ok, this happened quite a few years ago way before the dunes were as popular as they are now. My G/F and I went on Jeep ride to the north dunes. We were out there and no one was around so we stopped and got the blanket out. Well let me tell you there is nuthing finer than than being on the dunes with a fine lady and warm sunshine on your a##. Toes in the sand etc I am sure you get the picture. Anyway on the way back as I came over the dune the sand sort of shifted and as I came back onto flat ground the rt. corner of the jeep went over and away we went. We did about 1.5 rolls and tore the crap out of the jeep. The hood came back in and banged her on the nose but no broken bones. Luckily I had just put a heavy duty roll bar and we were wearing seatbelts. I was able to give a call out to the other Jeep club members on my cb and they came to the rescue. It was a little embarrasing to explain what we were doing out by ourselves but if I could do it all over again I would prefer just the first part but it was an exciting ride both times!!

That's why I put the disclosure about checking things out. Since they are from Vegas I thought posting it someone might recongize the name and validate the story. I ran a search on the treatment and it is out there but not very much information. I to want to make sure the $ is helping. Kelso Dunes are on the national registry. Getting them off now would be pretty much impossible. I am sorry to say as I would love to have them open. Just think of the pressure it would take off of Dumont. Crowds split between the two, hmmm be real nice. However after conversations with people who mess with this stuff for a living I think we should pay our attention to just hanging on to Dumont. FoDD is now accepting memberships $24.00 per year per family and $100.00 per yr. for businesses. Throw your support to FoDD and help us keep the space we play in. If you look at a map that was done 20 yrs ago even 10 yrs ago and a recent one that show' closeures you will be shocked. Dumont is about the center ring of a closed area. They are coming after the ring believe me. It's not hard to become active! Let me know and I will get you all a membership application.

As an organazition we do not have the financial ability to assist these folks but we feel justified in putting the information out there for anyone who wants to help. Thanks for reading Terry Hello, I am emailing you to ask for your help. We had some friends in Dumont on the 28th. of January that were in a buggy accident. It was a husband and wife their names are Darren and Chauna Pinnerman. Darren was lucky only suffering a shoulder injury. Chauna on the other hand was air lifted to the hospital with a broken back and is now paralyzed from the waist down. I have all of the specifics as far as Dr. Info and and exact description of her injuries. They have done surgery and she has been transferred to a rehabilitation center where they live which is Las Vegas, Nevada. Her insurance has covered all costs so far. Chauna had a specialist come in and look at her records and talk to her and her husband. She has been told that she is GOOD candidate for a procedure that her insurance will not cover. While the doctors that have worked on her so far have told her she will n! ever walk again, this doctor is very interested in Chauna and tells her there is a chance she could walk. The pocedure the doctor is referring to is called Molecular Magnetic Energy. The procedure is currently under investigation by the FDA for Approval. Apparently it is pretty close to being approved, but until then her insurance will not cover this treatment. Her treatment with this facility will have to be out of pocket. The doctors have estimated her treatment at needing 300-600 hrs. of therapy and at the rate of $50.00 per hour. I am emailing you guys to ask if there is anyway there can be a donation fund set up for this family. I have looked into setting up a foundation for the family, but it will take 6 months. This doctor says that he would like to get Chauna started on this treatment within 4-6 weeks, this Saturday will make 4 weeks. This couple has 4 c! hildren and before the accident they both worked FULL&n bsp;TIME jobs to pay their bills and Chauna was going to school to become a Dental Assistant as well. Darren has everything they own for sale trying to raise enough money to get Chauna to this faciliy, however the items they own and are selling is not going to be enough. I know I have been on sites where I see Donations being collected for families in need, Well this family NEEDS and I am asking for help on their behalf. We are all Avid dune riders. Does anybody know someone that makes business cards? The Board of Directors for Friends of Dumont Dunes are looking to get business cards for the board members and guess who gets to research it? That would be me!! If anybody knows somebody please let me know. We have 5 Board Members plus some general cards without names for handing out at the clean up etc. Thanks and you know DDR ROCKS!!

Rules is that you must not exceed 15 MPH within 50 feet of a camp. Amount of people who do exceed it I would guess 80% what do you think?

I think I am done till clean up weekend myself. I have to actually work this weekend and have lot's of stuff around the manison that needs taking care of. Also every toy and hauler I own is filthy and needs a good clean up itself.
