HappyHour Posted February 8, 2010 Share Posted February 8, 2010 First, I'm super glad the regatta went good, and from what it sounds like, everyone had a blast. Unfortunately I couldn't make it this year due to a prior obligation. But I thought I share why I couldn't make it, although excuses are like A*%holes......everybody's got one. LOL Well I work on race cars in my spare time and have been doing so since 1987. Same driver, just a bunch of different cars in different divisions within Nascar. We raced at Irwindale Speedway that weekend and it was a 2 day deal. Qualify on Friday, and then race 75 laps on Saturday night. We qualified 7th of 45 cars, then we finished 2nd in the race. All this with a brand new car that hadn't seen the race track until the Sunday prior to the race weekend. Not bad I guess. We aren't running the full schedule at Irwindale this year.
