DunaticSuzyQ Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Has anyone transported their 4 stroke ATV on its rear end? We transport our 2 strokes, but wasn't sure if it's ok for the 4 strokes too (specifically a YFZ450). Thanks for any insights! See you at the dunes Quote
Jakster884 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I have transported ltr 450 on its rear many times without problems. Should be good to go. Quote
mineurbiz Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Some motors like the Raptor 700 you are not supposed to, due to engine design, but I have seen them transported that way without issues. Quote
Foxysandchick Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) We transport the YFZ upright by turning off the gas and running it till the carb goes dry, haven't had any issues. If you have a full tank of gas it may leak out of the gas cap vent. edit...If you have the fuel injected YFZ then just stand it up. Edited November 16, 2010 by Foxysandchick Quote
CaptNkllm Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 I have to stand my 700 up also now.... Like Foxy said... Half tank of gas and no more lol.... that stuff leaks for a long time if its full:thumb: Capt Quote
mineurbiz Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 Just keep in mind, that it is possible for oil to get past the rings and into the cylinder, so when you get to your destination, let it sit for a few minutes before starting it. Quote
