peewee the pinstriper Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 (edited) As some of you know I'm Sponsored by Tachyon XC Helmet cams.. I posted this up as it shows the true picture quality from a very versitle camera that can go 130' under water or hit the dunes as shown.. If your in the market for a Helmet cam you may want to look into one of these (Google the name to find the site) .. and watch the video for glimpses of Tres and Gordon in action while you ride strapped on my melon on a 1973 atc70.. man that was nice sand! peewee the pinstriper Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Lol! I think I need to change the gearing.. It falls flat on it's face in third.. Or just ad another wheel! Quote
dunefreak Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I like those Tachyons much better than the Go Pro. The perspective is more real and doesn't distort things like go pro's super wide angle. I'm gonna pick up one of these HD's soon. Quote
Island Chain Racing Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 (edited) What's retail? I want one Edited February 28, 2011 by Island Chain Racing Quote
White Rhino Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 ^^ what he said, and do they have a mount to mount to a buggy? Quote
peewee the pinstriper Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Yes they have various mounts and can be used with aftermarket mounts as well, they retail for $179 + class 6 SD card ($25 amazon.com) these things are bullet proof.. I put the to the test and have yet to have a failure.. Their customer service is second to none.. The micro is a smaller camera that records at 640x480 avi files for simple editing.. The HD model requires a little better PC http://www.tachyoninc.com/ Quote
Jakster884 Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Sand was looking sooo smooth. Gotta Love Dumont. Quote
peewee the pinstriper Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Heres a link to the Ram mounts that are an excellent choice http://www.ram-mount.com/EmptyPages/CAMCORDER/tabid/1543/Default.aspx Select this adaptor for compatibility with the General Mount's 1/4 20 thread: Part ID: RAM-B-237U Then the arm and the base are up to the specific use.
