ltr450rider Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 It will almost always ADD power. It's always best to pair with a jet kit and higher flow air filter if you have a carburated motor. A pipe or slip-on by itself will yield some power gains though. Quote

Noozeyeguy Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 The stock silencers are almost always very restricive. High exhaust backpressure means less fresh air/fuel mix in the chamber on each stroke. Changing to an aftermarket pipe helps the exhaust scavenge the spent gases more effectively. More air/fuel = more power. That's why you'll need to rejet when you install a new silencer. Quote
