P-rot
Hey guys, I've got a question for all you experienced guys out there. I've got a home built vw powered rail with the single fin front tires on it. They throw up a lot of sand, I mean A LOT of sand!!!!!! They just have slight toe in and are about 15-20 psi. the sand is so bad my wife almost refuses to ride with me. Any tips to help get rid of the sand throw? is it just the nature of that type of tire? Any help would be great, thank you!! P-Rot
dunefreak
Run some smoothies or ribbed tires. Not much you can do if you are running those razorback type tires. They all seem to do that.

ynot
Sounds like a lot of PSI also. But I agree with the others that ribbed tires are going to throw some sand when you turn, after all that's why you use the ribbed type, it's to get more pleasure in every stroke, I mean turn
P-rot
Thanks guys! looks like I am going to have to play with it this trip. No time with work to get new tires before the Christmas / New Years trip
ItsWeeks
Does your car have side panels? Our friends vw car didn't and once they were added made a big difference.
P-rot
yea I am putting them on before we go, but they aren't the whole side, just right behind the wheel. Came with the frame when my buddy gave it to me.
