Deep Pit Turkey in the Sand

That method sounds interesting.

Ya have a good chance of a sandstorm or brutal rains,, and that would mess up you operation real quick I would guess but worth a try.

At the dunes it's usually:

The Peanut oil fryers (oil and fryer avail cheap at Home Depot) or:

Some families get the ready made dinner at the grocery store and bring it or:

Turkey breast because it's all that will fit in an tiny RV oven.

Pre-cook everything at home and warm and serve at the dunes.

Go to the T day Buffet at Stateline or Parump.

take everything they just said and throw it away sand turkeys rock its just like a weber !!! you dig a pit line it in coals you wrap the turkey in foil with butter and seasonings.you lite coals place turkey on bed od coals now cover the top still below sand level as soon as those light you bury it mark it and 8 hours later voila !!! deeeeeelish !!!!

Thank you!!! We've had a friend cook a turkey out there that way before, and it was really good. I just couldn't remember what exactly he did!!!

We have done

#1 and #4 both are good but #1 is my favorite. My neighbor used to cook a pig in the ground in his back yard on his wifes birthday that was great.
