Desertdog Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 Has anyone installed one of these filters on a Yamaha 660? They seem like A good idea. It's a flange adapter that fits on the KN filter then slides into the round intake port in the air filter housing and bolts in. They say you can run these wih the filter cover box off. I have an AFE filter that fits like crap and dosen't seal. Quote
dunefreak Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I have one one on my Raptor 660. It's definitely the way to go. I run mine wth the lid off. I threw that away a long time ago. You do have to rejet for taking the lid off though. It leans it out a bunch when you take it off. Quote
yfzkyle Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 yea i have the same one on my yfz450 and a friend has one on his 660 they work really well and yea throw the lid away Quote
HarleyR Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 I has one also on my 660...and now on my LTR 450... deffently the hot set up.... of course the Sparks pipe helped out nicely... Quote
sanddunesaddict Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) I have one also and dont run an air box lid. Its the only way to go :freakin_nuts: Edited July 31, 2007 by sanddunesaddict Quote

powerhouse Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 i have similar set-ups on my 700 raptors. you can do it !! get rid of that stock set up before you damage somthing :freakin_nuts: Quote
Richard Cheese Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 you might want to run a pre-filter too, if your runnin without a lid on Quote
powerhouse Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 you might want to run a pre-filter too, if your runnin without a lid on the Pro Design kit comes with one Quote
dunefreak Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 SWEET!!! IS it an oiless filter? no, it's a K&N with a billet adpater to mate up to the airbox opening for the carbs Quote
Richard Cheese Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 because the stock repalcement K and N's don't fit too well? Quote
dunefreak Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 because the stock repalcement K and N's don't fit too well? nope. They fall off and you can't run without the airbox lid. Quote
Gazlay43 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) we had one on r 660, but we switched 2 a K&N with an outerwear and no lid and we like it a lot better Edited August 1, 2007 by Gazlay43 Quote
dunefreak Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 we had one on r 660, but we switched 2 a K&N with an outerwear and we like it a lot better Are you sure you know what you are talking about? Becasue the pro-design filter setup IS a K&N with an outerwear. Or were you talking about a stock fit K&N setup? Quote
Gazlay43 Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 (edited) i thought he was talking about a foam filter pro design setup i guess i read it wrong Edited August 1, 2007 by Gazlay43 Quote
dunefreak Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 i thought he was talking about a foam filter pro design setup i guess i read it wrong ahh ok. They might have them in foam too I guess, but everyone I have eve seen is a K&N. Quote
EY3BA11 Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Twin Air carry's the Pro Flo Kit which is a new cage and foam filter that has the backfire foam built into the filter eliminating the stock screen... K&N also has a similar kit as well Quote
RaptorMike Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I just added a pro design filter to my 07 raptor, it is pre foam filter and then has a foam filter to slip over the pre filter and run lid cover off. My question is do you have to oil both filters, pre filter and outer foam filter. Quote
dunefreak Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I do. Just make sure you don't over-oil them. Quote
RaptorMike Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I do. Just make sure you don't over-oil them. Light coat here on both, didnt want to much restriction. The hmf pipe, dobeck controller and pro flo filter seem to work good, bike a little more snappier. Quote
