Options and Ideas

[WHIZ]

So, after my first Dune trip a few weeks ago I'm hooked. Unfortunately I had a rail to play with while I was out there, but can't afford one for myself at this time. I looked at SxS's, but have come to the realization that 8-12K for a SxS doesn't make much sense when I can find a 4x4 mini suv type vehicle.

I've been looking for Sammi's and Sidekicks, but I'm not having much luck. Please shoot any additional ideas. Please keep in mind I would rather have some removable top option. I will cut a top off if forced to, but would rather not.

Some other Ideas:

Diahatsu Rocky

Kia Sportage

Isuzu Amigo (a little large though)

The cheaper the better I guess. All I really need is a relaible drivetrain.

I'd stick with a Tracker or Sidekick. Bert has one and it does amazingly well. Air down and put it in 4 LO and it will outclimb and out-dune most sidexside out there!

If I didn't have so much other crap going on I'd already own one. They fuggin rock.

I can't find any pics of it in action, but ask Joe Duner. That thing will actually DUNE at a speed of like 35-40 mph.

WHIZ,

Bert does love that thing. He goes anywhere he wants.

He said it didn't even cost him that much at all.

Plus he's got Tunes, Heat, A/C, etc. All kinds of commodity's.

The tracker even makes it to the top of Comp...just not over

Yes, thats exactly would I was thinking. I just can't seem to find Sammi's or Trackers/Sidekicks for sale for a decent price right now. I'm keeping my eyes peeled.

Considering I would be basically buying it for duning and off road use I'm not excited about dropping 4-5k on one.

just keep looking. I just found a 2000 Tracker 4WD for 3200 obo, but it was sold already. They are out there, you just have to keep looking for when they pop up and then jump on them.
