(The speed will be based on the youngest rider) There they will begin to gather everyone. The agenda: β€’ Take down the flag, if it is not acceptable and raise a new flag to replace it. β€’ Have the Veterans in attendance join in front of the group. β€’ Hand out any little flags to the kiddos β€’ Moment of silence β€’ Pledge of allegiance β€’ Present Veterans with a token of our appreciation. β€’ Ask the Veterans if they are comfortable talking about their service, even if it's just a few words to say their branch and years or any stories/experiences they wish to share. β€’ Patriotic music mix while we visit and hang out. 4. Here's some pics from Buggy Roundup 11.5 to get everyone in the spirit.
  5. Buggy Roundup 12 dates are set. I've had a ton of people ask me already. It's always the 2nd weekend in December, guys. Get it together. Buggy Roundup 12: Dec 12-15, 2024 There's more info in the event link below. Please RSVP on that page. I'm hoping for better weather than at 11.5! See you guys soon. Comment below what day you plan on getting there. Maybe a pic of your buggy and rig too! Questions or suggestions? Post those up too.
  6. First I've heard of it but it kinda makes sense.
  7. In case you haven't heard yet, season and weekly passes have not been sent out to vendors yet. We will update the passes page as soon as the vendors receive the passes. BLM is running late this year. In the meantime you can purchase your pass online at https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/e210305d-b769-11eb-87ed-16dbf55c498d
  8. Thanksgiving is right around the corner! It is a week-long dune trip for some groups when friends and families gather at the dunes to prepare their annual feasts. If you are wondering how busy it gets, Thanksgiving does draw quite a crowd, but it's not quite as crazy as Halloween. Catch the waterpumpers in action as the Dune Masters and Sand Pipers clubs compete in their 54th annual hill climbs and drag races. Friday: Drags on the back sand highway starting at 10:00 AM Saturday: Hill Climbs on the steep, left side of Comp Hill starting at 10:00 AM And don't forget, Santa will be at the North Pole on that Saturday 11/30 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM hard stop. Details to come. Stay up to date on the Dumont Dunes Santa Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/144674787256195/?mibextid=oMANbw
  9. Our 12th Annual Buggy Roundup is December 12-15, 2024. Have you got a buggy? Come out and join us to camp, hang, and run the dunes together. This is not a big party weekend. It's actually pretty chill. But if you love buggies and want to get together with the rest of the buggies of Dumont, this is the weekend for that. Everyone is always super cool and respectful. If they aren't, they'll be asked to leave and won't be invited back. We hope to see all the regulars plus some new faces this year! "Schedule" Thursday: Get there early, meet the early arrivals, and go make some tracks in the sand Friday: Run the dunes and burn some fuel! Saturday: Sandcars & Coffee 8AM-9:30- Park your buggy in the center of camp. (Many guys do it the night before). Grab a coffee, wake up, mingle with other buggy people. 10AM group ride: We will do a group ride with ALL the buggies ending someplace like North Pole, Comp or whatever feels right. Grab yourself some lunch. 1PM We will raffle off some prizes The rest of the day will be more duning finishing the last ride on Sunset Hill. Saturday Night: group bonfire, possibly dune videos on the big screen Sunday: Pick the sand out of your ears, go for another morning dune run, and then pack it up when you feel like it (or stay another day to enjoy Dumont some more) LOG IN & RSVP on the EVENT PAGE link below (If you have trouble logging in or can't figure it out, it's cool. Just show up. You can also message me, @dunefreak or DM Dumont Dune Riders on FB or IG) FORUM DISCUSSION
  10. Anybody know why their moving Vendor Row next to the BLM station along the ridge? I think it's probably a good idea for safety's sake.
  11. Well we are back from another great trip to Dumont for Halloween. Over all a great time. Pretty warm/hot this year. Made for more night rides than I usually do🀣. Meant up with some social media buggy buddies I had never meant. Everything went back in the trailer on its own power🀘. Can’t wait for next trip.
  12. FYI, for those in Pahrump or driving through and hoping to get passes. Parker's Kawasaki is no longer selling any passes.
  13. We arrived Thursday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. You can definitely tell the difference between the "old school" dune-crew and the new breed of "spoiled, entitled brats" when you are out in the dunes. I won't even go into the whole trash left behind in the camps or the stops in the dunes. We spent almost as much time driving as we did picking up trash in the dunes. Some people really need to learn the whole "Pack-It-In-Pack-More-Out" rule. Our group for the most part will only be making day trips for the big weekends to support the vendors and other events. The comfortable friendly feeling seems to be there on the off weekends.
  14. Halloween used to be my favorite weekend. I choose to skip it now. It's no longer my crowd out there. It's changed alot. I suggest going on an off weekend. That's what I do.
  15. I arrived wednesday by thursday night it was a madhouse at the cliffs.Too many fireworks and mariachi music loud no consideration for others .we left in the middle of night and complained to rangers who-said nothing they can do.I have been coming to dumont for 30 years but never again
  16. I was kidding about not needing one. I was mostly referring to the incorrect dates. πŸ˜„ Apparently the vendors in town don't even have the season passes yet. You can buy your (weekly or annual) pass online or at the kiosk (weekly only). I also just got word that Roadrunner Powersports on vendor row will have passes available as well.

  18. Thanks for letting us know. We will pass it along to the proper people.
  19. Thank you so much for this info. We have been going to Dumont for years up until the Hurricane. I was under the impression that the Little Dunes got totally wiped out. This is fantastic news. So there is not much change from the Hurricane coming through? Thank you!
  20. You'll be fine. They don't even check passes anymore. πŸ˜‚ At least the last two seasons they haven't. The first year they started selling them online the date was off on mine by one year. My pass didn't get checked once that season.
  21. There's a decent amount of camping space/ area. It's accessed from highway 127. The dunes are little of course, but a fun little area. Mostly "finger dunes". There's the salt creek mines too. I put a bunch of info on those on the landmarks page. A section of little Dumont got washed away last year but it didn't affect much of the sand. They just plowed the entrance but it's pretty soft still unless they did something about it since Oct 15th.
  22. I did the online pass. It said I could get a regular pass from a ranger at Dumont. Not having a good feeling about this.
  23. Hope everyone is doing well. I was hoping to get the most recent status on the Little Dunes. Due to a lot of personal issues I have not been able to make it out to Dumont since the Hurricane came through. Does anybody have a good description on what the Little Dunes Area is like? Is there a camping area? Is there a riding area? How does it compare to Pre-Hurricane status? Any additional thoughts for those of us who typically take their families to the Little Dunes? Thank you everyone for your contributions! Be safe!

  25. until

One week out. Almost ready. Cant freaking wait. Hopefully it wont be to hot.
  26. Tried to buy this car months ago when you had it listed on FB marketplace. Didn't seem too interested in selling then, had cash in hand. GLWTS.
  27. until

Yes. Not as much as in the past with social media platforms these days but we keep the news updated. There isn't much news lately since the season hasn't started yet.
