  1. This was GTP Off Road's last trip out on Vendor Row and the rumor that I heard was that the other small parts truck was done as well (But I am just repeating hearsay) BLM has gotten stricter on what can and can not be sold on Vendor Row. It has affected several vendor's businesses. The guys that bought the old Beefy Boys food truck ( they haven't decided on a name yet) did a tremendous job on their first trip out! Their food was good, good sized portions at a great price. I hope they are just as supported as Beefy Boys was in the past! There were numerous vendor's missing from the past years. Hog Heaven hasn't returned for the last two years. Grandpa's Ice cream disappeared two years ago, as well as a couple of shirt groups, including Racin Dirty and Big Belly Crew. I remember back in the days when Vendor Row was full on both sides.... Vendor row seems to be dying more and more every year... Maybe that Amazon Drone Delivery Service will hurry up and get Dumont on it's area... (sarcasm) It is a ton of work just to make it to vendor row and then when you are out there, you are working from sun up, to well after sun down. Set up, tear down and helping customers. This year the missing included: The Short Bus Ice Cream For Life t shirts SPK Offroad Jerico something, they sold a variety of items, flags, lights, t-shirts The RV Rental and T-Shirt place The only vendor's this year were: GTP Off Road (last time, we are done vending) DuneMart California Casuals Desert Bling Baker Ice which now owns the old Beefy Boys truck Another ice truck, but they were intermittent Dirty Mindz and the curly fries and corn dogs place (I don't know their name) As for GTP Off Road, it takes a tremendous amount of work to go out there and vend. They have to break down the entire show room and load it into the trailer, haul it out there, in years past, either Mike or Adam would have to make two trips, just to get the vending trailer to the dunes, this year, I was able to drive it out. Then unload everything and reset up the show room when they return. They have to turn work away the week before any vending trip, just to get ready. GTP Off Road is a two person small business (I only help out and have a full time job.) The guys are wanting to concentrate their time on more shop work, improving further their customer service, product inventory and turn around time in the shop, getting rides ready for those big holiday weekends. My own personal opinion, and not the opinion of GTP Off Road (I am only a hired hand) There were numerous trips where we spent more of our time out on vendor row watching people walk by, then helping people out. We are duners ourselves and truly enjoyed being able to save people's weekends and be there when they needed us. That was where the joy was in it, duners helping duners. If we weren't vending, we would have been duning. They did not excessively mark up their prices just because they were on vendor row, they kept their prices the same as in town. I heard it frequently, "buy it in town or on amazon, the prices are over marked just because they are out here." If the vendors aren't supported, they won't keep coming. They can't stock every nut and bolt and part, and bring it out, they wished they could have, but it's impossible. I hope that another parts person or operation steps up and fills in the gap.

  2. Friday night It was dusty as hell out there this weekend! I cruised up the hill to the south to see all the lights in camp. Dumont City! The half moon was dropping fast so I grabbed my camera and managed to snap a couple handheld shots before it dropped below the mountain. Saturday morning was really nice. The temperature was perfect. Our camp One of the locals came out to say wassup. Ben and I went out for a morning rip. There were hardly any duners out yet in the dunes. We got a great run in. I watched these guys play around on the hills for a bit. Camp was packed. These guys were sending it. Medivac Lou took the dogs out for a morning stroll @louB and Lindsay ready to run @Dent boy @vegas style We duned out to the North Pole where there was a huge group of people. Banshee Hill was hoppin as usual. Lots of dudes racing. The dusty cloud that hung over the camp area. I stopped over at Walter and Howard's camp to say hi. It was cool to see them bring out all of the decorated RZRs. I swung by vendor row and saw Howard cruising out in the Flintstone-mobile. It was getting warm so I relaxed in my shaded hammock with a cold beverage for a while. @Dent boy had to check it out too. Brice and Mary stopped over with the dogs and Newt quickly got comfortable! Cody had a big audience at the top of the finger dune and he and his buddies were jumping I could go for a pizza. Despite the warm temps, we all headed our for a big group run. We were laying it down pretty good, therefore everyone started running a bit warm so we stopped to cool off. Robyn and Chris headed out for some camp hoppin. His Spazmatic car actually did really well this trip! I did a little more of this again. As the sun went down it got super dusty. A spotted for a guy that was jumping by our camp. The dusty sunset

  3. Post up your pics and weekend trip reports here! It was another huge turnout this weekend with about 16,000 visitors per the BLM. LOTS of dust this year. All in all it was a great time though. Nobody in our group got hurt and we laid down some really good dune runs. It felt great to be back . I'll get some more pics up when I go through them all.

  4. Very nice trip stayed until monday. I was at comp on Friday night but Saturday the doggies were not feeling it so I skipped the Trunk or Treat. I liked the crowd reminded me of the the big boom Dumont had around the 2005/2010s. Truck did good, still needs way more horsepower.

  7. Had a fantastic weekend!! Brought some newbies out and they got bit by the D Bug! Was a little warm but our cars did pretty great. Had a full rear end swap happen in camp and it was back to the sand! Almost everyone drive back on the trailer so I would call it a win.

  9. Saturday night we headed over to the Trunk or Treat. It was pretty awesome! There were a ton of people over there and @JeepingJay36 did a great job hosting it. It was like one big party. Howard won one of the plaques. I think it was the Star Wars car that took best decorated UTV. Comp Hill was insane. After rolling through looking for our group for probably 45 minutes to an hour, I was getting impatient. My clutch foot was getting tired. lol So I blasted up Comp and just sat up there for a bit checking out all the lights and mayhem. I went back down and found some of our group. I chatted with a few friends that stopped by and had a good time as usual at the hill. Leaving on Sunday was a zoo. It was a great trip! My photo album...

  10. Here's a little more info on the mines and how to get there. It's not a very long ride, but it is well worth it if you've never been.
