Must be something to the Allison.

The new 6 speed Allison is a joint Ford/GM joint development venture according to Automotive Engineer magazine.

Trouble is, the Ford Allison is only available on the Ford 550 and up. The Ford HD trans only avail with diesel.

Japan 3/4 and one ton trucks will be washing ashore soon and they all have Allisons, or the murderously bullet proof & brutal Borg Warner equiv trans.

Allisons are da finest kine driveline. Our GMC owners manual says it will go 200K miles, and we will do just that.

allison is u.s. made by generel motors ( maybe sold off by now ) but there trannies have been around for ever. myself i dont want anything to do with no sushi sukin 3/4 ton truck.

actually a 2lb helmet killed a dune rider in big bowl about 4 years ago he landed his jump but the whip lash snapped his neck. he jumped into big bowl. I m not saying anything pro or con just kind of wierd incident.

This trailer is HUGE. My truck pulls it amazingly well even up the hills. I am sooooo looking forward to not having to go 25mph uphill. Dumont is the only place I've been that is uphill both ways. This trailer definitely has enough cargo area for my buggy( 18'2" to the first cabinet)but I still will have to change the rear tires. I also have to take the couches off the walls because my car is so wide. I already have that worked out. This gives me another reason to look forward to going out to Dumont.

I'm running Toomey T6's with Northphelan's old set of 30mm carbs. It made a huge difference on mid and top end. Thought it would bog on low end, but suprisingly have a little more pull out of the gate. Other than that, everything else is all bolt on.
