  1. My Turnkey 450hp LS1 , 11k on pump gas :yeah_whatever: , My buddy's Outback 450hp Suby, 16k on race gas.
  2. I agree with you on the Honda motors especially randogs car, but like I said the suby's gonna cost alot more
  3. For the money you can't beat the LS motors. Yea, a same horsepower rated suby will pull on a same horsepower rated LS motor (from expierience and not by much) but It'll cost you a hell of alot more to do it. As far as the by-passes, Big jumps and whoops..... a must, for the dunes..... not really a nessicity.
  4. however when they biuld a tranny that will truly hold the power v8s will rule again............................................... Two words........ Fortin, and Albins. Sorry, 3 words.
  5. Tell me about it, luckily I'm only a few miles south of the 15-215 interchange so it isn't too bad.
  6. Hey Tom, car looks good as usual. When's the next trip? New Years maybe?
  7. Mike , that is truly one of the baddest looking cars out there. It's cool to see some Gder's come this way.
  8. They took it out again for turkey day. With stock tires it duned just fine, a little under powered but plenty capable in the dunes ( yes, big dunes). I wouldn't put paddles on, the motors not strong enough to handle them. Just air down to about 6 psi. and you'll be fine.
  9. Hey Joe, Yeah, Dave at Hotrails and Carl at V-tec Performance both were guessing two years ago. They both said that back then. So, I've always told peeps 450hp at the flywheel. But Stu did have his Dyno'd at 480 to the ground. ????? Who knows BTW, Good to see you on DDR. :argue: Hey DDR,,,,,,,Painterjoe is WAY effin cool peeps. Now that I think about it your car runs like it's got way more then 450 . Like you said as long as it performs the way you want it to then who cares about #'s . Hey, thanks for the kind words.
  10. Whatcha mean you ain't goin for T-Day?Who am I suppose to dune with?
  11. Both mine and Randy's motor's are estimated at 450 that would be around 383 to the ground.
  12. Hey Randy what's up, 480 to the wheels would be close to 600 at the crank. Maybe Stu was getting flywheel #'s and not to the ground, that just seems like alot for a stock motor.
  13. Good post. I'm the same way, I check there belts for them. I love it when they say "I can't breathe"
  14. Pretend you didn't see this post. Damn I need to check stuff out before I post, there's no b-piller to support the roof not a good choice.
  15. Here's another. http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/index....showtopic=91076 I know, I know, no front brakes and it's got a bus box, but not bad for 35k.
  16. I totally agree with what you are saying. The DD car is a beefier car but like you said a slower duning car. If you want a cars that hauls butt through the whoops and can handle big jumps then the DD car would be the better of the two, If you wanted a car that dunes awsome then the SU would be the better. I found out the hard way, I have an Extreme Performance Eco 1( not designed for big jumps and whoops and I was told this buy the builder) and I broke both front lower arms jumping it (big). When I bought the car I wanted a duner, thats why I chose it but my adrenilin got the best of me and it co$t me. In my opinion there isn't a car out there that's somewhat affordable that can give you the best of both worlds, so thats one of the choices to be made. The way I took it was the decision was some way influenced by the color, not saying I like the looks of the DD better. Just my .02 cents.
  17. You can't go wrong with the SU, Very lite awsome duning car. Go for a ride and if possible drive both, that will help in your decision. I wouldn't base it on looks and besides with some sweet graphics the white car will look awsome. Also the DD car won't fit in a toyhauler with paddles on it.
  18. There's always a full bottle of captian in the trailer Well, until we drink it all .
  19. Some friends of ours just got one and they love it. They actually made it up the west face of the big dune :eatdrink021: at Dumont(experienced driver) . They haven't tried to dune with it yet but I'm sure it's plenty capable.
  20. Here's ours, if you see us come by and say hi.
  21. Thanks for the compliment, it's also for sale. Actually it's not stroked. Thats why they use the Blaster pistons because the wris pin depth is higher then a banshee piston. Having the longer rod creates less dead time for the rod to come around so the motor rotates faster, it does not change the stroke of the crank.
  22. Rudy is deffinately the man when it comes to making 2strokes fast. This is a 370LR Rudy motor on alcohol, 63 mph up the wall at Dumont. Not bad for a non stroked motor.
