  1. Start an excell spread sheet with all the standard features and options. Put in a colunm for price. It will help sort things out between different brands.
  2. As far as I am concerned, an A-10 Warthog could obliterate the road. If it deters some people from going there, all the better. If people can bring all their staples in with them, they should be able to pack out their trash. It really is not that hard. Also this issue of trash bags "blowing " out peoples rigs, I don't get. I find it hard to believe that the amount of bags we all see along the road just "blew" out. It seems way more than just the one off bag to me.
  3. I use a double Sway-Away set up with my hitch. It takes away the worry of "the tail wagging the dog". We had more problems towing the 21' trailer with our Suburban than we have ever experienced towing the bigger trailer with our 2500HD. I am lucky, we have a cul-de-sac right across from our drive way that allows me to pull in and just back right up into the Rv parking. Goodluck which ever way you go. It's all good!!!
  4. I agree with Pete. I love to have the bed of my truck clear of a hitch. It gives me more options. My trailer is also 34' total length and is no problem to tow. It actually tows better than my old 21'. I think because of the triple axle set-up.
  5. I am kinda partial to Warrior and or Rage'n (Made by Warrior) products. The companies really do have excellent product support. They will actually have a mechanic and parts availible to customers at Glamis on the "big" weekends. I purchased a Rage'n / Blaze'n just as National RV was selling that division to Weekend Warrior. They were in transition and were still able to help me in everyway posible. Even when the selling dealer wasn't. Just my.02 worth.
  6. Do you guys remember the "YAMAHAULER" stickers? I bet they could sell a sh*t load of them today!
  7. I agree, we have a buddy who broke his back jumping in the high desert. "Victim" Valley Hospital released him and he could not even get out the door. I would suggest if you had to go to one of these remote facilities, waste no time in seeing your family doctor to get a second opinion.
  8. No disrespect to anyone, but these areas we choose to ride are not metropolitan areas. As it is, there are enough problems with health care facilities in big cities or towns. These remote facilities probably have a very difficult time recruiting good people. And when they do, I would bet they don't stay long. Food for thought, we choose a very dangerous hobby, we do it in very remote areas, and we don't always associate all the risks that go along with it. Just my .02 worth.
  9. Home away from home! :north_pole:
  10. Trophy Trucks Rule! :north_pole:
  11. I have seen instances in a couple of different manufacturers trailers where the ground for the fuel station was insufficient. Or it was off completely. Sometimes the crimp is no good, sometimes too much paint, sometimes just loose. I have seen Warriors, Tahoe's, and Rage'n with like problems. You would be suprised how cheaply some of these trailers are built where your eyes can't see.
  12. We used to do that and then we found out that it seriously shortened the amount of time we had to imbibe!
  13. You will come to find that I am a very sarcastic person. :chev_bowtie:
  14. That was kinda my drift!!! Believe me, I was around in the eighties!!!
  15. Play it safe. Eat at Jack In The Box. No one has ever become ill or died from their food.
  16. "P.S. dont let any forearm sweat drip in the oil not only is it gross it will pop and splatter " Forearm sweat rules!!!
  17. KTM actually powers the new Polaris 525 Outlaw quad. Simular to the 500 outlaw. Retains independant rear suspension. I believe you will get better product support from polaris dealers. That has been a sore point for many KTM owners... parts and product support.
  18. Thats about as fast as my fat a** can ride too! F.Y.I. We posted the ASA speed limit signs on the north and south ends of camp and 9 out of 10 people actually slowed down. It was a great success. I would recommend to everyone. And the money goes to ASA.
  19. A piston, rings and gasket set are cheap insurance on the "new" style four strokes. If you let it go, then your going to have to replace a whole lot more than that. The Honda piston has way less skirt area than the Yamaha. The lighter the piston the faster/quicker it revs. I think a compression check on occasion is a good idea. It is really hard to tell when these bikes are getting weak. It is not like the two stoke that gets tired. Also, sometimes the symptoms of a tired or weak four stroke are valve train related and have nothing at all to do with the cylinder.
  20. F.Y.I. The American Sand Association has speed limit signs you can purchase that you can place around your camp. They also have the ASA logo and the safety buggie logo. They can be purchased online at there web store.
  21. Your dog sh*its bigger than my dog(s).
  22. The entire dune system is a great Rhino trail. They will go just about anywhere. I actually worked my way up the backside of Comp and crested it, and down we came. We went with a group of bikes and quads and we could go almost everywhere they did.
  23. The level of happiness my two little rat dogs exude when I come home from work makes me happy. Sitting on the Veranda at Havasu watching the sun set over the lake with my family, friends, and an ice cold one makes me happy. Launching my Hallett early on a hot summer morning and hearing 500hp ring throught the marina makes me happy. Knowing I can really F things up and at least my wife still loves me makes me happy. Driving from Riverside towards Vegas with every wanna be a-hole in the world (Knowing I am turning off at Baker) makes me happy.
