Nice. Where did they stay or did they camp?
-
Nice, clean rig, You'll be sooo comfortable.

Let me tell ya Bob,, the old mechanical machines were way cool. The best pinball I ever saw were custom built machines for Ceasars Pallace, back when pin ball made a re-surgance in the early 80's. Nothing tops them,, but they are gone. Must have been a big exec with the company that was a pinball nut that commissioned them custom because they must have cost huge $$ to develop. Never seen anything that comes anywhere near the coolness and features these pre-digital Caesars machines had. I think I'll write to Historys Mysteries and see if they would be willing to track them down. Hey,, it could happen. I feel like we've taken a beating with the PS3. Expensive, and not a lot of games available.

Would you reckon that knobbies rather than paddle tires would be the norm at Coral?

Nice ride Dman. Like the silver with the nice wheels too.

I was re-fueling the gas containers in Baker and two girls pulled up and asked if I knew of a bar in town? The traffic was stopped in both directions on the I 15. I sent them to the bar behind Dennys. I forget the name, but they said why don't you stop by for a few too? So I did - after a week in the dunes with the family, a drink at the bar sounded good. They were on their way to 'Vegas, and had boob jobs some time earlier, and this was their first trip out since their operations. They'd show anyone in the bar their NEW double blessings that wanted to look. Never saw the girls again, but the bartender thinks I have some sort of way with chix because of that one really hilarious episode. I don't have a special way with chix,,, I had just met them,, and they were having a blast holding court. It was a fun nite, everyone in the very packed bar was having an awesome time.

We have a family and Dumont seems easier to keep outa harms way compair'd to the close quarters camping at Glamis. We love Glamis, but the camping conditions at Dumont, expecially for families are supurb. Plenty of small dunes at the Little Dunes and Southwest side of the big Dunes too. Really not a lot of accident compair'd to the volume of use. The little league fields near our home gets more ambulance activity than Dumont on a weekend.

The Lenwood exit seems to work best if you have a long rig. We see the Arcos east of town off the 15 but have never tried them. Someone may have a take.

Last we went into the Valero a few weeks ago their water and air was'nt working. The hoses were gone. We usually fill up in Parump. If you're passing thru Barstow, you can get free dump & potable water at all the Flying J's.

I deserve it. Not computer literate here,, I click on stuff until something happens.

New computers with new ISP's / e mails & re-registering, we don't hide who we are and take shots at anyone specific is my point.

Forum Haters have several common traits: They never have original thought threads. Never have a thread with over 60 hits or any replies unless they're crapping on someone. They're broke with a 300 FICO. They're fond of white powder. They are Jealosy driven. Their dune rides are / is shopworn and dated, and they can't afford a new one (if they even have one). No savings account, and if they have a home, they inherited it & have looted all the equity outta their home and are way way upside down on the value to equity. They usually log on with several alias's. They attack those that have a more interesting life than them, those who's girlfriend or wife is far better looking than theirs, and attack those that have more money than them. Does the shoe fit?

Amazing how fast they burn.

Great pix. What sometimes looks like a big problem, with small steps becomes a small problem, easy to fix. Glad to read it all worked out, everyone had a good time.

grip slipping off...what to do?
Duneraider replied to Richard Cheese's topic in ATV / Motorcycle Talk
3m makes the same adhesive they use for post-it notes in a can. Works great. Put your thumb over the opposite end of the handelbars, then use compressed air in the grip and slide it on. Also, make sure it's not a twist throttle grip (larger inside dia) accidently used on the non-twist throttle side of the handlebars. -
It was a joke son,,, lighten up my friend,, I don't think I've ever posted anything here that was an attack on any forum member, or anyones beliefs, or feelings about any issue. It was in fun, I was just kidding. Pete and I get along, and have always got along just fine.

I try to, but Dunefreak still manages to get through to chew me out.

How Does the upcoming Zuki 450 compair to the YFZ 450?
Duneraider replied to Ross and Alice's topic in ATV / Motorcycle Talk
But IYHO, could the extra width be a hassle when loading into a toybox full of quads? I agree on the hillshooting. That will be a minor concern on our future purchases. -
I thought Pete was controlling the personal attacks and the A holes. But if not, I'll post elsewhere.

The area looked teriffic after the races. You all did an excellent job.

We stress to our kids why we ride safely. Never putting your foot down/off the pegs of your quad to avoid injury, perhaps even a compound fracture. Most my Harley friends that have laid down their Harleys have leg or arm amputations. I asked Alice my wife who works in front line, state of the art medicine,, why ALL the amputations?: "Often with a Compound fracture of the leg, a main artery can get severed, and blood loss to the leg will cause it to be unsalvagable. Also, and just as common, infection jumps into the bone, and ya can't stop bone infections. So, they whack the leg or arm." Is her reply. A few former champ (local, old school now) MX riders are friends of the family. They all quit riding when their injuries led to hip replacement. They told our boys: "They pain of the injury is super bad, but the insertion of the catheter in your weiner by the hospital staff really is the worst thing." Ya say that while holding up a straw from a juice bottle. "Surgeons hate to give painkillers to their patients" said my wife, "Have never seen a surgeon sympathetic to a patients pain", and the MX riders back her up on that,, and the pain of an hip injury is brutal. I had eye surgery last year, and now when it starts to get dark at the dunes, or in bright white out conditions, I have to ride really carefull, I just don't see that well anymore. Friends that ride Dumont love to cross over the razors, it's fun,, but that is a good spot to lay your quad down,, so now I just ride around the long way. I have a family to drive home. Some of them don't understand my reasoning.
