  1. Not having any luck finding paddle tires in a 16 x 8 x 7 size. Can anyone direct us to someplace that may sell them? On the rim or off is OK. Thanks
  2. Heres one of the pix,, they filmed several different commercials that day. Many different carmakers film there.
  3. I replaced the de compression hole plastic plugs with the Yami plug and the Yami adhesive like the kids at the parts counter instructed me. Any better ways out there to prevent this from happening again? I bought spare plugs for the future,, because this stunt ended our trip early. Seems like a flimsy, cheap, unreliable fix. thanks for any suggestions.
  4. I've got sandstars on our YFZ 450's and we love them. You're right the haulers have the edge on comp., sandstars have nice handling.
  5. I thought it was just me with the lazy streek,,, Sometimes takes weeks to do simple tasks,,, Be at the little dunes this Thurs thru monday,,,
  6. Thanks,, I appreciate that. I'll guide her to the V force, but let her choose. The "striped" paint schemes look really nice. Saw them in several colors w tiger stripes at Berts. What size wheel and type of paddle do you run. I was thinking sand stars on a stock size and stock offset aluminum ITP rim. The prices on the V force really vary from dealer to dealer.
  7. Will be there this Thursday morning, family coming out Friday.
  8. great video, I love these kinda posts,, thanks.
  9. Girlfriend wants a quad with an auto trans. The Kawa 700 comes to mind, but sitting on it it seems really big and clunky to her. I realize not fair to judge it on the showroom floor. She doesn't need a steamer,, but doesnt want a sled either. I've seen them on the dunes and they seem quite nice. Slow, but nice. Any takes on the Kawa,, and any other auto trans adult quads out there? Any changes over the past since the kawa came out? Thanks
  10. It was a great New Years week with several Dumont Dune Rider Forum members at Dumont Dunes. We camped at both the Big and Little dunes. Mild crowd, awsum weather. I was the only rig with sat TV. So most everyone invited themselves over for the USC game. No problem,, lots of nice duners. I grilled several tri tips and deep fried twinkies,, and a case of beer flowed too. Center of pic in the distance,, a family we didn't know was in bad shape and all lined up with their chairs and a rolls of toilet paper at the restrooms front door for well over a day. They were the talk of the dunes. Occasionally saw them take a pull from a pink bottle of Pepto Dismal. They had the squirts deluxe. Reason I keep a clean kitchen in the RV,, fresh, properly stored food, lots of hand washing. Sanitation & correct food handling is essential in my world. Inside my RV, my girlfriends child nicknamed Maynard. My mom would have taken her brutally painfull maple stick & lit him up deluxe & straigntened him out some time ago - but in 3 months,, with lots of attention,, he's become a teriffic kid. As all say; "the life of the party" for a 6 year old. A handfull,, but a lot of fun to have around. He now behaves. We forgot Maynards gloves,, no problem,, mine will do just fine. He loved them. Girlfriend riding my YFZ for the first time, at the Dunes for the first time. She rode to "the Wall", that is Competition Hill and immediately rode to the top. You must admit,, pretty good for a first timer out. I'll be buying her a quad for her birthday, and letting her choose it. Another use for flag sticks. They work teriffic for hot dogs and marshmellows. Maynard on his new Zuki 50 (still has bugs, had to fix it several times already). Maynard launched it airborn several times,, he had a blast. My daughter just has this knack with kids that naturally makes them behave. She always says and has proved that "If you hit your kids,, you've failed in raising them". Patience has turned this kid around. A really sharp, brite 6 year old,, he stuns and takes people back when they talk to him. My mom woulda taken a switch to him though, and it would have been faster. People we don't know passing by. Is this OK or even legal? See it alot at Glamis. Overall a good trip,, the upcoming cleanup is much needed. We filled several bags of junk & bottles left behind by idiots. A messier crowd is starting to inhabit Dumont. Saw a sign near the entrance: "GLAMIS GO HOME". I do a backpack - stray bottle pick run across the big dunes everytrip and easily fill the back pack up one pass. when I retire soon,, I plan on being much more active at Dumont. I have 2 new crewcabs. The GMC for towing, the Lexus like Toyota for a daily driver. GF has different hours so she comes out in the Toyota,, and loves it. The Rented kasea was a real nice running 90 cc quad. We'd buy one, but understand they have zero resale value.
  11. Nice. The squeeze and I are starting to check out Toyboxes. How is it price wise compaired to the WW? Does it have slide outs? Seems like a much nicer interior than the WW
  12. 04 GMC Crewcab 4x4 496 Cu In Allison tranny '06 Honda s2000i sports car convertable - fun to drive '06 Toyota Crew pre runner - also fun to drive
  13. Crown is good, but usually I drink Jack on the rocks. One of the Casinos in Pahrump has a Jack Daniels bar,, be there with Alice Wed nite sippin'.
  14. Maynard Christmas morning. Bought the GF's 6 year old the New for '06 Suzuki Z50 quad. He doesn't like his name James, so I call him Maynard and he loves it,, it's stuck. I fired up my sons Go ped, and after giving Maynard Z50 instructions, and a few runs around the house and driveway, Maynard and I headed out through the neighborhood for his first shake down run. Up Laurel Fig street, we have a really evil neighbor that calls the cops when the kids are on their motorized rides. At Christmas time, the cops take their time responding to mean neighbor calls, the cops realize the kids are on fun runs with their Christmas toys. They complain about my cat killing gophers too. Damfino why it really pisses these neighbors off. It's the bloody mess, but the Macaby traps no long work & the cats have tipped the scale in the homeowners favor.. The cat now brings the dead gophers to a spot by our trash cans,, but that's another thread. It was a blast,, and with time Maynard was getting the hang of it. I removed a special spacer ring on the Zukis CVC trans,, and it adds about 8 mph top speed. I removed the speed limiting spacer ring in the CVC trans Maynard got faster and faster as the afternoon progressed. The Zuki offers a much much smaller dia handlebars, and tinier controls and grips. A BFD to a tiny kid like Maynard. I suggest you hold that thought when sizing your kid on a bike or quad. Most the builders do not do this, and it's a big difference. I was cruising with him and flashed back to my early days of riding. The Europeans made an appearance at a local motocross race for the first time and really beat all of us kids. We were lapped, humiliated,, annihilated,, just murdered. None of us had dads around,, and had little clue what really beat us. The Euros had better suspentions & frames, more powerfull motors,, and advanced riding skills. I imagine thats why I keep my kids dialed in with state of the art stuff, and as much parental involvement as I possibly can. I can see how it can suck with no parents around shareing in what you love to do. Maynards Z50, a little four stroke steamer with good suspention and correct sized proper controls.
  15. Us too. We'll be there no matter what from the 2nd thru the weekend. If the weather sux,, then a few side trips to the schiester casinos of Pahrump, or hit 'Vegas gameworks for the kidz. A week at Dumont is better than a week here cleaning Gorilla $**t outta 2000 ton chillers.
  16. By all means I agree. Glamis is tops,, but on a busy weekend,, then Gordons is a great second choice. No places beats the bowls of Glamis,,, the rideing,,, is is tops.
  17. it is a long drive,, but its a nice place. Next to Dumont, we love Gordons.
  18. Ahh Rats,, maybe we can hook up MLK instead
  19. Can anyone direct me to finding a headlite/tailight kit for the NEW Zuki Z 50 Quad It was just released about 3 weeks ago. We'd prefer one that looks like it belongs on the quad; but can't be picky so anything that works will do. Who ever offers a kit will sell tons of them, this little quad is a sales leader. I removed the speed limiting spacer on the tranny and wow is it a peppy little machine!!! Thanks Thanks for any assistance
  20. I had the old Raptor and I love the power. Turn offs were the vibration and tipsyness. Any takes on the new Raptor 700 w / FI. They look nice on the showroom floor, but don't seem to be selling.
  21. Bought the GF's 6 year old the new Zuki Z50 for Christmas The speed limits are: 1. A spacer on the trans. limiting the top speed. Removed with a special tool at the dealer 2: The thumbscrew throttle limiter. Nice improvements for '06. Adequate travel on the suspention,, 4 stroke (but still red sticker),, peppy, quiet, elect start,,, CVC trans., smaller dia handlebars,, and dinky controls, smaller than all the other brands. Fits nicely for a 6 year old. 20 lbs lighter than the Polaris + lots of pep. I've been driving it around the neighborhood. Nice little Quad.
  22. Buying a new ATV or M/C or boat should be a fun experience. We were in yesterday, already had a pre- negoiated price,, cash sale,, and were made to wait way way too long to take delivery. Three hours and 19 minutes is just too long a wait. We had called ahead and said when we'd be there. We kept mentioning that we had a long drive home, and we had to get to work. We waited and waited and waited,, and then got an sarcastic attitude from a few employees. We almost boxed. Is that what you want? It's not like we needed to be financed, cash sale!!! You guys had our drivers license,, and we see why it always seems to get "lost" so the customer won't walk. We were told the "paperwork was being done." BS we found,, paperwork wasn't even started until we finally got to the table. Your employees that are talking to frustrated customers need to not antagonize them furthur with jack a$$ remarks. Being forced to wait so long like we were, to take both delivery and complete just a few minutes of paperwork should not mean police,, bad posts on offroad websites with other people chiming in how they got kicked around at ****** too. If you want to aggravate a customer,, keep them waiting for hours, then give them an attitude. If we buy anything else from you we will both negotiate price AND the time it will take to take delivery. I've always felt at ******, that once the deal is struck,, the customer is then forgotten, and languishes on the salesfloor. Had we not spoke up,, We be sleeping in one of the boats as you unlocked to open this morning, still no paperwork done. On the good side, the guy that finally did the paperwork was teriffic. And I do stress finally. Don't make your good customers look like flaky deadbeats. Their is a lot to be gained with good service to a good customer. I hate leaving ***** pissed off. It doesn't have to be this way. We wern't the only frustrated people there. Some customers were so frustrated they went onto the salesfloor and got their M/C's and quads and pushed them themselves to the delivery area, and then just grabbed someone to sign them off.
