  1. I'm still looking for the best price, I'll post tomorrow as soon as I find it. Prices vary quite a bit of $$ + delivered and may or may not be taxed. Interesting adventure. Be back with prices,
  2. The rears are for a stock Suzuki 90 ATV. 18 x 9.5 x 8 Power about like stock Honda 90, but auto trans. They're Skat track Gliders that are just like a small Hauler. Have option between 5 and 14 paddles. Appreciate any imput. Don't want to guess. Thanks lots.
  3. Thanks Pete, we were really hopeing for the best. Felt so bad. Glad to read he'll walk outta there in not too long.
  4. Yeah, the last kids tire and wheel I bought were scat track exciters. Had to buy them dirrect from scat trak and they were expensive. Same as LT 80. 18 x 9.5 x 8
  5. The kids in our group call it hot wheels hill. DAMFINO why, resembles one of the hot wheels toy sets I guess. Little pikes peak.
  6. Not easy to find the size and type of paddle tire you may want for 90cc quads. I was going to contact paddle tire king and see what they have in stock. Their website is goofy to find what you're looking for (forget that), and I even had to look pretty hard to even find their phone number, a red flag always. Are they OK to do business with?
  7. I just bought the youngest son the new, just released yesterday Zuki 90 4 stroke. Maynard says he's taking it up comp in 3 weeks. I think he might just make it. Runs really good, sounds like a 2 stroke. While I was at the dealer picking it up, I noticed the new, sport styled Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4. Automagic trans, 4x4, nice plush suspension, extremely comfortable riding position. Weight wise, right there with the Kawa 700. I don't think the weight is as BFD to people interested in them as it is to say,, YFZ riders. People that want these kinda quads don't have to be the first person to the top of comp. Wife is a very good rider, just hates shifting. I don't even notice I shift, it's so second nature. But negotiating dunes she doesn't want to. It's amazing how people want you to buy the quad THEY want, and want to argue buying a manual shift. Wife is adamant about an auto trans and that part of the discussion ends there, her quad will be an auto. We won't buy Polaris because of how Polaris has so badly burned their customers and dealers in the past, so it boils down now to the Wolverine and the 700. Anyone know anything abou the Wolverine? The 450 4WD not the 350 2wd. Any takes?
  8. Oh yea, we take kids out there all the time you can traverse through past comp, or take the Southern most route along a sand highway. A nice couple stops by the mailox and retrieves the letters once a week. Feel free to read the letters too. Occasionally bad peple destroy the box, but everyone re-places it.
  9. Of the thousands, no, tens of thousands of people that use Dumont, only a couple guys show up to the lawsuits and meetings with the BLM. The orig sandemon (www.dumontsanddunes.com), is one of the most unselfish guys with his time and is as reliable as a hammer on issues keeping the dunes open. He works long stretches of days and hours on his job at work, and the precious little time he has left to himself and his wife Kathy is devoted to Dumont Dunes. Amazing how the people that use the dunes the most, and are the most vocal about keeping them open, never heard of or met the guy, or offered him any assistance in any way, or any assistance to anyone else with dune issues. They'll stay open, safety has nothing to do with it. Radical enviro groups that are in it for the money can have something to do with it though. Look at Pismo, look at Glamis. I remember thick skulled off roading friends saying; 'They'll never close them". The enviros are the problem, not safety.
  10. Call several Attitude dealers and ask for a deal on an extended warranty. AAA offers them too. Google and call around as well.
  11. Good ops,, yeah, it's propable a check or non return valve jazzed. You may be able to call the manufacturer and they'll tell you where it is. Mines easily accessable from the cargo storage, sometimes their right there at the tank, or at the pump. probably a very easy DIY job.
  12. Didn't an out of state couple die in their sandcar last year,, just about this time trying to immitate what that nascar car driver does at Dumont that was featured on Fox sports? When did the Moss Ford owner & another sandcar fatal incident happen? Again, avoidable. Like dnchevyman says, it's people killing themselves. Negligent manuvers, poor judgement. Sad but true. If ya ever want to practive safe off roading, Dumont is the place to start for sure. The Ultalite guy is alive, but he has a long road of recovery ahead of him, and some serious medical issues approaching. Eyes wide open to safety. The really smart riders stay off comp when it's super busy. Lots of Mushroom, meth and other drug users on it, mixed with alcohol and lots of horsepower. Choose the time ya ride. I don't need to preach to anyone in this excellent forum how much we all love to ride our quads and cars there. Be selective when and where ya do too. Be safe. Let's not read about any of us getting stuffed.
  13. I have a 9500 lb trailer that I pull outta storage at the river and spot on our campsite about a total of 900 yards of towing with my Tacoma. Never get above 5 mph,, but others seeing me pull up with it believe I did the 290 mile run from Simi to Havasu with the set up. Just "spotting" it in slow motion for a few hundred yds works fine. Towed it cross country with a '94 Grand Cherokee for years, and if that POS could do it, certainly any rice burner can too. Ya have to watch your insurance coverage if you exceed capacities. It's a BFD.
  14. I fear when Toyota, Itchypussy, and Nissan soon release their 1 ton Pick ups the Ford Chevy argument will be obsolete. They've been running Allisons in their Asian versions for years. They're very dialed in.
  15. .40 ltr in the crank w/new filter 1.35 ltr in the sump FYI
  16. Get both new lugs and new nuts. Don't use the old nuts, and replace them all. Don't know if they have to be pressed out. If so, have Honda do it. These are very important,, Safety first!! Replace them all.
  17. Nah, no reason to quit. I drop back in the pack when group riding,, and used to get stares from the other riders. One by one they eat it,,, and learn why I dune a little safer, a little more cautious. Dumont Dunes are Harry, brutal dunes. Ya really realize it when ya spend time at Glamis. Glamis will always be awesone, but Dumont is technical, ya can't get caughtnapping,,, and ya gotta think safe. Pick off holiday/event weekends
