  1. 2007 Raptor 700R. $4,000 OBO. Only ridden by our daughter in the sand dunes. Very low mileage. Selling due to her going away to college. This Raptor is in perfect conditon. Never crashed, never even trail ridden except to break it in when we bought it. It has the candy apple red frame with grey plastic. Comes with the normal dirt tires (hardly any wear) and 2 ITP 10" Sand Star sand tires for the back. It also has 3" spacers for the back and 1 1/2" spacers in the front for a better balanced ride. Everything else is stock. This quad will beat a Yamaha 450R that is stock for all you racers out there. It is EFI so you can take it to higher altitudes and not worry about re-jetting. Make us a decent offer and this quad might be yours. We are located in Prescott Valley, AZ. Call us at 928-925-1367 or 928-925-5694 or email us @ jandlmason@hotmail.com.
  2. Don't know about this year but we went there last year and no problem. My friend brought some Rx perscriptions and they filled them. He also got some teeth filled. We came across the border with no problem.
  3. Hey, sounds good. We'll look for ya. It's always more fun when you have more people on rides.
  4. We go out every year to Dumont a few days before Xmas and stay through New Years. We camp in the wash below and bring our tree and gifts. The days before and Xmas day are great because usually the dunes are vacant or near vacant.
  5. We're going up the day before Xmas and staying throught the New Years. Usually a few days before Xmas are great - not a lot of people there.
  6. These are the same type people that come to the dunes and leave all their crap for us to pick up.
  7. OGP, loved what you said - Amen to all of it. My father was injured at Pearl Harbor, his brother was killed on the Arizona. My dad met my mom because she was a Navy nurse in Hawaii at the time. I am a Viet Nam vet. My brother has been in the military for over 25 years. My wife served in the Persian Gulf, her brother is in Iraq, so I am very proud of any body who has served in the service and perserved our freedoms. I don't want to get going here - my hair on my arm is already raised. Unfortuately, when I used to work for the County of Los Angeles, I had to rewrite the election system so that Hispanics, and others could read the ballot in their language. I complained to the board of supervisors and told them as a citizen of the US, you have to speak english. I was shut down. All this stuff pisses me off. I couldn't have said it better than you did OGP.
  8. I was at Gordon's Well 2 weeks ago with my rail and quad. I talked to the Sheriff and BLM while I was there asking about OHV stickers in Calif. since I am from Arizona. Here's what they both said. For states that have an OHV sticker (not just the off-road plate), you do NOT have to have the Calif. sticker. I believe Utah has this as well. In Arizona, the sticker costs $25 a year. So, the bottom line, a quad must have a OHV sticker from your state if that state provides OHV stickers. If the state does not have these, you must buy the non-resident tag from Calif. Now for all you Sand Rails peeps, at least in Arizona, you can't get an OHV sticker for anything over 1800 lbs. I forgot to ask them if Rails then need to purchase a non-resident tag from Calif. Hopefully, someone from this site might know.
  9. We have done a lot like Sand Chick. I pack my lunch to work now We cancelled HBO Got rid of house phone and now we only use or cell phone Drive a little slower to work to save a little on MPG Cancelled going to Jiffy Lube, change my own oil now Hardly go out to eat, we BBQ a lot at home now Plan shopping so we only go into town maybe once every 2 weeks Wife stopped getting nails done, and hair colored all the time Wash my own cars Used to have 2 trash cans, now we pay for only 1 Use cash for everything, no more using charge cards Shop at Frey's of Safeway and when we have spent $100, we get 20 cents off on gas. All this so we can have more money for duning. We dune a lot. During the season, we average going to DD about 5 times a season usually staying 4-5 days each time. During Xmas season, we are at DD from a week prior to Xmas through News Years. Then we also go to Gordon's Well about 5 times a season and stay 3-4 days each time. Gas costs a lot since DD is a 6 1/2 drive for us (but worth it). Between the Deisel gas and buggy gas, costs can add up so we have cut back on many things just for this.
  10. Some observers say they saw something fall out of the balloon. I just pray it was a battery or something like that.
  11. If you go to this site you can see what it looks like. It's a UK site and I will continue to look for where I got it in the US. It works great. http://www.shedrite.com/itemdetl.php/itemcode/29
  12. I'm at work but when I get home, I will check where I got it and how much it cost me. It's really loud and works great. You put a key in and turn it which puts it in the noise mode (there's a test mode that allows you to actually hear it). Wind and such won't set it off but it needs to be cut to get at your toys, and once a bolt cutter or anything else starts to penetrate it, the alarm goes off.
  13. Be very careful. Last year after the normal Sat. 2:00pm get together at the South Pole, a bunch of us took a dune ride together. We stopped for a break, I got out of my rail, popped a beer, walked up to someone on a Raptor and introducted myself. He asked me what I was doing with an open container. I looked at his clothes and guess what, he was the law. Luckily he was pretty cool but warned me that they are getting tougher out there. So now they have buggies and quads - you need to watch out. I now just leave my beer at camp and save the drinking for later. Much safer that way.
  14. I also use the Krypto chain to lock everything down. I also bought a 30' 120 decibel lock. Works just like the Kypto chain lock but if someone cuts the wire, the alarm goes off and it is super loud. I also sometimes bring my big male Rot and he sleeps out side. It is sad that a few make it so bad for others that have worked to hard to get what we have.
  15. I'm really surprised your pop, who served in Vietnam agrees with Obama. I don't know how much he has seen and don't want to compare but I also served in Vietnam in the Navy Seals and have seen plenty, especially during Tet. For most of us who served in Nam, we wanted to kick butt but weren't allowed to. Now Obama wants to talk more to these 3rd world nations. They hate us and no talks will stop them. We need to send in 200,000 troups and get it over with. Because of military men like your dad, myself and other military people, you have the freedom today to be an American and have the freedoms you have. If we let the Taliban continue, believe me, they will rule this world and all your freedoms will be gone. Now tell us what Obama has done. You say give him a chance. I didn't vote for him but have been waiting for him to followup on his promised for the last year. Obama promised he'd shut down guantanamo - didn't happen. He said he would end this war - didn't happen. He bailed out the hugh companies with stimulus money but they people still can't get loans, but the companies survived while millions are losing their jobs and foreclosing on their homes. Have you checked out where some of the stimulus money went to - like $400,000 for the Kennedy foundation, same for the Las Vegas Historical Society, etc. etc. He promised do do something about Global Warming - nothing there, he promised to have immigration reform and still nothing, he promised to have limits on executive power and nothing there. He promised we'd have health care reform - but his way will cost people more money for health care. He flys all over the country, each time spending millions of dollars to do so, staying in hotel rooms that cost $3,500 a night to talk to school kids in Arizona for an hour. We are all sitting here telling you what he hasn't done. My brother-n-law was so pro Obama that he worked to get him elected. He now doesn't support him at all and is very dissappointed. Even the television people like Bill Mahr are ragging on him now. How can you support a person who would not wear the American Flag on his suit, who wouldn't say the national anthym? Please tell us what he has done so we can be more informed and support him.
