  1. Not only is the job itself impressive, but let's not overlook the biggest task - THREE JOBS - way to go!
  2. a lot of concern from 'viewers' about buying this truck has been: I don't think I could drive it - if you can drive a stick shift, chances are, you can drive this. It's so big - it's actually shorter than my Dodge dually and visibility is greater I don't have the right license - neither did I until I studied, took the battery of tests (for the Commercial A license, since I am pulling a commercial trailer) and got mine. If you're not a business, you DON'T HAVE TO get a Commercial A license. It's a lot of money because I don't need the generator - take it off and sell it. They're $10,000+
  3. I'll be on vendor row from the 26th until the 2nd
  4. So I have a brand new Brazilian AS41 case in my shop that has already been cnc clearanced for a stroker crank & rods. It has already had extensive machine work done to it to accept a Scat 88 crank with t4 mains and flanged flywheel. It's been drilled for piston squirters, full flow tapped, all gallies drilled & tapped, opened for 94 jugs, decks cut and 10mm case savers. So a lot of money has already been spent on this block...to much to just toss it. All that being said, the reason for this topic question: While attempting to gain more clearance for the rods being used, I cut right through the top of the block with my rotary bit. The hole is large enough that I can almost put the end of my little finger in it. It's located on the DRIVER SIDE of the blocks top, right by the hole that utilizes the pass through bolt. MY QUESTION IS THIS: has anyone been successful in welding a pop though hole like this, IN THAT LOCATION? My customer doesn't want me to use JB Weld. my e-mail is feedback@doghouserepair.com thanks for any input, Phil
  5. under 500,000 miles and doesn't have any leaks - annually inspected - Certified mechanic maintained
  6. yea that's bad, but here's worse: Don & Kathleen at Dune Mart has a large outside display of their whips and flags and they always have their large orange cones outside to mark their area...well anyway, they were busy with customers and someone took down, off of their trlr, one of their very tall flag poles with flags and stole it, in broad daylight. talk about having a sack. That's why I don't have outside displays. Many holidays ago thieves drove up and pillaged Sand Crazed display of many shirts and sweatshirts after dark...and they weren't quiet about it either...equivalent to a smash & grab. As times get tougher, the thieving b...strds will become more brazen. I'm considering arming myself if I can't sell my stuff and get out before it gets worse. Serious. oh yea and I almost forgot, Chris (the welder that dresses in black all the time like Johnny Cash) has his friend come out and they sell firewood out of his space on the end there....anyway people drive up at night and steal their firewood. As vendors, our costs are already high, and creeps come along and kick us in the goodies like that. POS is right.
  7. If anyone has the occasion to run across a guy named Brian S Durkee, avoid doing any business with him. He'll try to sell you a sandrail that is misrepresented, a jacked up golf cart or maybe something else. If you see him, just turn and run in the opposite direction. Doghouse got paid full restitution (for when he paid Doghouse Repair with a phony credit card), but now he's out screwing people again and he targets duners. This same post is on my Dumont Dunes page on my site.
  8. see our entire add with more pictures here https://www.doghouserepair.com/store/item/11374 $220 thanks, Phil
  9. I'm showing up Friday the 26th. I will not be selling the T-day passes since BLM intends to.
  10. yea, well, some people you just can't reach.
  11. Just in case no one knows BLM is not charging admission at Dumont in observance of Veterans Day. We were advised, so I assume other vendors of passes we also advised. Ride safe
  12. oh my god, this guy took the words right out of my mouth when he wrote this. I love it. These are things I want to say to people that call up and want to know "how much is an engine"? kudos
  13. What kind of harley's do you have? Do you want my frieghtliner and LQ trlr as a combination package? Let's talk. https://www.doghouserepair.com/store/item/10745 https://www.doghouserepair.com/store/item/10527
  14. I left Dumont to head home to Pahrump. So I'm lumbering down the road at 55 in my 14+ ton rig going home Sunday morning. I'm behind 2 pickups pulling bumper pull toyhaulers. They're going faster then me so they're up ahead a ways as we come through the S curves before the Tecopa turn off. Then they both start to slow down as they enter 'the approach' to the turn off. This tells me they're going to turn off. Not the use of turn signals mind you, just slowing down. I hit both jakes and let off the gas in anticipation. We're almost on top of the turn off now and now here comes the point of no return question, do I grab nineth gear and get ready to slam on the binders or ride it out since I still don't see a turn signal? I decide to grab nineth. We're AT the turn and sure enough NOW the turn signals come on! The jakes rumble to life and all my brakes are grabbing as I slide up to their rear ends. There's still plenty of room mind you, for me to avoid hitting them as I slide past them. Plenty of room is about 15'. I've got a pretty beefy bumper and I'm sure I could have put that toyhaulers tailgate into the kitchen without much damage to myself. So, when do you use your turn signal? You should start thinking about it 20 seconds out, depending on your speed and what's behind you, of course. Certainly you should have it blinking 5 one second counts out from the turn. You never know when you have someone behind you that's 'on the edge'.
