i have my bike with fmf's at +4 stock factory port work.. stock bore.. no detonation.. my duneported bike with 34mm carbs is at +5..it burns 91/100 octane mix.. no detonation.. once again my dads bike with dmc's on it. stock airbox and carbs.. stock stroke and port.. with +4 timing.. no detonation.. it all depends on how well tuned ur bike is also

out of the 5 banshee's i have.. only one of them has stock timing. i have a bike with fmf's.. +4 timing and a 42 rear sprocket instead of a 41.. and its toquey as heck..

i have toomey t5's on one of my bikes and i dont have holes in the airbox

yes boost bottles are worthless..look into getting a stock crossover tube.. prevent you from rippin intake boots and making it run lean everywhere. after that try air screws and if that done work.. try needle position or richin up ur main.

the 87 carriers are different than the 03 carrier the 87 carrier just has 4 small bolts that hold the carrier the 03 carrier has i think just 2 long bolts top and bottom or 1 long bolt on top and 2 small single bolts on bottom. they should interchange but im not promising anything proud owner of 5 banshees and 1 with a streetbike motor in it
