  1. They had a $4.000 mark-up on rzrs when we were in the market. We shopped around and got one for MSRP. We like ATV cyclesports advertised on the DDR front page. Everything there is negotiable too, and damn,, they seem to always have what you need in stock. Without a doubt the cleanest, nicest shop too. Made me go home and clean up the garage.
  2. Our son is going through massive surgery Friday morning, this came on suddenly and unfortunatly we can't make it to the clean-up. But: Some moron left an entire RV awning and assembly about 100 yds south of the rockpile with some other junk on Sunday. We were planing to attack that first with a sawsall and get it all securely in a dumpster. Then, comb the dunes for the usual beer bottles. Seems like the Southeast corner has the most. We try and grab them when we're duning, but couldnt get them all of course this past trip.
  3. I ran against a bone stock 525 sunday at Comp on my sons YFZ. My sons YFZ is just jetted, the KTM rider was the same weight as me,, I had a quad length on him so I would say because we're both not the greatest of racers about equal. Perhaps the KTM with proper jetting jetting might even be slightly quicker than the particular near stock YFZ I was on. DAMFINO. Nice quads, probably ride nice. Yamaha has been very quiet about the YFZ for a long spell,,,, so expect something big this next mod year from them I would guess.
  4. Passes wernt avail until into the season, if at all.
  5. I understand your point, but they werent charging us Fees back then either. We've paid well over $200 in fees this year alone - only good at Dumont, in addition to seperate fees at Glamis.
  6. The reason I posted this was a ranger felt horrible that they were so under prepaired to deal with dune accidents. He asked not to be identified, and I deleted his scene from the video. But the Rangers were beside themselves that they had so little to work with. In an accident, the first hour is the most critical. Getting the injured to the hospital with competant medical care is vital,,, in the first hour. This won't happen the way it's set up now. Merely a dune capable vehicle that can get rescuers to the scene, and evacuate usually several severly injured people quickly is essential. The old timer campground host is a teriffic guy,, not knocking him,, his Rhino is good for organization and marshalling/directing the authorities, but I think a more dune capable emergency vehicle can be afforded with the money that is generated. Merely suggesting better tools to work with. When the rangers respond, they can simply drive a crewcab with some equipment, and a driveline than can traverse the dunes and get the injured out in that critical hour. Forget the Tijuana abortion hospital in Parump,, ya gotta get the injured to a real hospital trauma center in LV and fast.
  7. The point Pete is not for extra rescue staff, or that their should be or not be fees. The point is at least the BLM can simply have a duneworthy vehicle so rescuers can reach the scene on an weekend. This isn't year round, it's the 4 or 5 month period, on weekends, that the dunes are in use. One female passenger was eventually transported out. It was a long, long time. Not sure if the Dunebuggy rolled or center punched the inside of the bowl. This incident demonstrates my family will consider ourselves on our own, to be self-reliant & prepaired to evacuate our own injured in case of an accident. We paid $60 for a 2 day stay btw, and we have a stack of recipts for our years visits. Also Pete, what are you doing up so late? You need a good nites sleep, That may be our truck you're working on tomorrow and we want you rested.
  8. It took hours for help to assist this dunebuggy accident accident at Dumont today. Rangers and Fire rescue finally arrived, only to be stranded at the entrance rd with no dune transportation, and they had to bum rides from duners to reach the scene furthur delaying assisting the accident victims Where are our entrance/user fees going? One BLM employee on the scene mentioned nothing has changed since the fees began. They had no 4X4 or any sort of sand transportation as the video will show rangers and fire rescue personell had to rely solely on duners to reach the scene, and again to transport the victim to the Med Evac Coptor.
