i knew someone had posted something about noise in the dunes.....i thought it was mr.brownsand i didn't put 2 and 2 together until I read that slanted part about...... anyway...the libs COULD say that this is a phenomenon only specific to dumont? POSSIBLY saying that off-roading "ruins" the "natural" ability of the dunes to "harmonize" i've seen far less stretched out more by the land grabbers.....using erroneous study information too.. anyway...fire away cuz imma :dunce:

10 years ago this week A remote dry lake bed about 60 miles from Pahrump could play a significant role in the future of America's space program. Silurian Lake, about 30 miles south of Tecopa, Calif., is being considered as a landing site for short range tests of the X-33, a one-half scale model of Lockheed-Martin's VentureStar spacecraft which is expected to become the 21st century's answer to the space shuttle. Wayne Wilson, an environmental engineer for NASA, said the dry lake bed near popular Dumont Dunes is the preferred short-range site because it provides some margin for error should the X-33 fail to land directly on line. Remember when you were in school and you used to torture the poor substitute teacher with the thankless job of filling in for a full-time teacher you didn't like in the first place? Well, the Nye County School District is taking steps to ensure its substitutes are ready to handle a little childish torture and anything else that might come up. All non-licensed applicants must attend one of the NCSD's day-long substitute teaching workshops. Pahrump is just 10,625 new homes away from getting a $17 million middle school -- if the county commissioners approve a proposal by the Nye County School District to impose a $1,600 impact fee on new residential construction and new manufactured homes in the valley. It will actually take fewer new structures than that, since the district has other sources of construction income and school officials are hoping a bond issue will pass next year. The decision of the Pahrump Town Board at its last meeting to begin accepting bids for a permanent youth center was too little too late for long-time youth center advocate Bob Tomaro, who said he's frustrated with the whole thing and plans to resign from the town's parks and recreation board. Town board member Bob Little, on the other hand, said he's encouraged by the town's progress and believes it's a good first step toward establishing a series of recreational facilities for both youth and adults in the community. http://www.pahrumpvalleytimes.com/2007/Aug...s/16254442.html

traditionally cooler weather after summer in the northern hemisphere starts with the beginning of fall, the fall equinox, or when the sun is directly on the equator. a less amount of direct sunshine to the northern hemisphere allows for cooler temps during the day, which, in turn, (me, myself, and I )allows for the nights to cool off even more. the cheese answer...brought to you by azzhoenall....

i have only heard of instances where they pull you over to check to see ifyou are towing out of class....like in CA...more than 15,000 gvwr on your 5th wheel, and you only have a class C license, then they will get you towing overweight will have consequences should you get into an accident. I don't know of ANY insurance company that will spend the money to pay off your claim if you have exceeded your vehicles gcwr......they look for ANYTHING to not pay a claim...that is what they do, as they are in the business to make money, not give it away.....any technicality, and they will claim you are not covered.. do people tow overweight? all the time....some have had accidents...... i found this on glamisdunes.com.....
