  1. Don't waste your time with a standard travel car.Just cause someone has a V8 long travel car doesn't mean they have to be stupid. I've seen idiots driving everything from an old 2 wheeler to an expensive buggy. I think Tim hit it right on the head when he said buy a car you can grow into and not out of.

P.S. You can get a car like mine for right around 35K brand new.

I have to agree with you Don.....

however for those of you calling a standard travel rail that cost just under $10,000 "CHEAP"......I'm in the wrong business then or you guys just don't know the value of the dollar.

  2. I honestly believe a persons first car should be a standard travel BLACK BEAUTY style rail... Learn how to drive and then step up to the bling and horsepower..

I have to agree with that. I am on my 9th trip with my rail and I seem to get better every trip...at least that's what my buddies are telling me. But with a 1835 in a little rail like mine it seems plenty fast at my current skill level.

  3. When I purchased mine I went with a tape measure. I didn't go as big as you are planning but I can get a 12' mid-engine rail (remember the stinger sticks out the rear another 20") and a quad (Yamaha blaster) in a 25' front kitchen toyhauler. It's 15'6" to the first cabinet from the rear door and I can still fit a quad in the little kitchen area. I bought a tow behind so that I can put another quad in the truck.

    Good luck.

  4. It annoys me too.....how about we caution tape off comp and see how they like that!!! The only time I use the tape is to keep the pit racers from going right through my camp....I am a believer that we all came for the dunes and no one should be able to tape them off for themselves!

I can't believe they did that with a restroom.....must have been a really large camp. However, I know I would have purposely walked through their camp to that restroom every time!! eff em! I like being a nice guy but if I am pushed...I'm great at being an A$$HOLE too!! :slap:

  5. That's a tough one.....

Measure the amount of success in your life by the amount of love and happiness in it. For me that happiness includes my family and toys.....it's different for each and every one of us.

Good luck.....I am curious as to how you will choose.

  6. Cool fellow I.T. folks! At your level of buying your more than likely not getting bounced to India for support  I hate that!!!!!

No we have a webpage that we log into that has special pricing and an account manager that we can call, who speaks english and is somewhere in the US, funny part is his phone extension is 7 digits!!

My only draw back is i cant code if my life depended on it ( ok i can get by but barley ) and im graphically challenged..

There are times I wish I could say the same....coding is still a part of my job.....as well as all around database work (SQL Server and Oracle)......Never a dull moment around here.

Sorry to hear about the ISP....that's technology for ya!! Too much money and too many BIG companies now.

  7. i am happy with my purchase... and this JUNK is workign WONDERFULLY!!!! I TOO am in the INDUSTRY!!! Network Administrator... I have bought everything from HP, Sony, Compaq, DELL, Toshiba, blah blah blah and havent noticed any huge diffrence/complaints other than a few quality issues in the cases / ergonomics and things like that...

I am also in the business and work for local govt and actually coordinate the technology replacement program for an extremely large group....15,000. We use Dell for one reason....customer service. Yes Sony and the like are good, but if you want bang for the buck and customer service go with Dell. My understanding is that if you stick with the Latitude you aren't on the bleeding edge and the hardware is more stable. We rarely have any problems with them and we just spent around $400,000 this year on desktops and laptops.

Disclaimer: Of course computers are like cars....everyone is an expert and has an opinion.

  8. If it wasn't alcohol abuse I'd throw full beer cans at the A$$HOLE pit racers..... How many acres of riding is there and they have to zoom right through your camp like there's no tomorrow.

We did get to see a few of them go down though and we had tracks that looked like someone almost ran smack into our fire barrel over night!! Must have been the 3am dude! That'll leave a mark!

  9. Im all about the sand... Dumont, Glamis, Armagosa If it has sand i want to ride it.. :D

Me too....I don't even care about the weather reports anymore....I just wanna be there in case there is a moment....a fleeting glimpse of a chance to ride!!! :thumb:

Besides the bad weather usually runs them all off....MLK 2006 at Amargosa.....Monday morning was all fresh powder from blowing all day Sunday....man we rode 3 hours and saw nothing but the tracks WE made!! :headbang: Surfing is the only other hobby that I think comes close for me.

  10. That's why I put the disclosure about checking things out. Since they are from Vegas I thought posting it someone might recongize the name and validate the story. I ran a search on the treatment and it is out there but not very much information. I to want to make sure the $ is helping. I am calling the e mail writer tomorrow and I will let you know what I find out.

When you know...please let us know.

FYI - not that it makes a difference....there are no real property/mobile home/marriage records for any Pinnerman here in Clark County....but that just means they don't own property/mobile home/ and weren't married here after 1984. Wish I knew if this was legit.

  11. check the size here

that little dot is some tree hugger

I see tracks on those dunes....right to the top and over!

I've seen those dunes from the road and wondered......now I know....

    :beercheers:

  12. the current season pass expires in sept. so its oct-sept. since no one else answered the question. lol lol

Yeah...I just bought one on Prez weekend....didn't know it expired on Sept 30. :laughoff:

Oh well...now I have an excuse to go to Dumont more before it gets too hot....I don't think I will be able to use it once Summer hits. Is it cool enough out there in Sept?

  13. I agree that when on a group ride every body should be responsible for the group not just the leader. When I'm riding in a group I try to watch whose in front of me and who is right behind me.

I do the same....the wink mirror in my rail is very handy for that.

Since all of my buddies are on quads I usually pull up the rear....(it allows me to leave some room if I need to take a run at something) and of course there are times I have to wait for someone who doesn't make it over or up the dune. It's all good.....however, sad article, but very good points to heed. Thanks for sharing.

  14. When I lived in San Diego I frequented a place called The Library...small little dive with Shuffleboard, Pool and Darts. You could use the house phone to call friends. Good times :laughoff:

We have a place in Vegas called The Library....it's not like the one in Diego....it's a bewbie bar!! :laughoff:

3 bucks probably won't get you a beer in there today!! :argue:

  15. rum in coke in a super size cup.. you lack originality..

Screwdrivers mixxed in a 100oz camel back and sippin em during P.E. :D

Our drink was Big Gulp Slurpee (coke flavored) with Jack Daniels...... :laughoff:

DISCLAIMER: Kids don't try this yourself........like they'll listen.
