i wouldnt buy paddles until you go out there and decide if duning is really your thing. if you by paddles and front ribs for 2 quads you could spend up to $1000. it would suck to spend the dough if you dont really enjoy climbing through the dunes. just air down your tires and get a feel for it.

when i talked to skat trak before the guy suggested not going over a 6 paddle for the 80 and 90 quads and nothing more than a 5 paddle for the 60 and smaller quads. there has been some skat traks advertised on ebay lately in the glider and exciter sizes

chapparral is a little nuts to deal with a salesman thats why you go directly to the sales mgr. we called on the way to the track he had my 06 yz450f prepped and all paerwork done before i got there. when we arrived he handed the paperwork to a salesman to have me sign it and i was gone 30 minutes after arriving. berts on the other hand has had crappy salesman and a lack of parts each time i have gone by. i tried telling a sales guy i wasnt there to buy and he still bothered me the entire time i was browsing around and then tried to pawn off a used blue banshee that had obviously been flipped several times.

actually there is a law to wear a helmet on a bicycle so i guess sandrails are next? just kidding about the sandrail part joe but there really is a helmet law for any age person riding a bicycle at least in ca.

width maybe 6 wide and i have no idea on the bolt pattern nobody has ever been able to tell me. they are a 3 lug. i had to find some old oe wheels just to put her paddles on and skat is smoothing out a set of fronts for me just waiting on those to get back

skat trak is going to be the only company i found that makes paddles for all the varying kids quads 6,7 and 8 inch rims. and probably the best to buy because of the weight issue of paddle tires versus the power coming out of these little quads. i know itp makes sandstars for the rear but they are heavy in comparison to a skat trak. itp is the only company that makes a front sand tire for 90 quads unless you have skat trak do custom work on buffing them down to smoothies. i have both sets for my daughters raptor 80 and it had always lacked in horsepower so extra rotational weight is a major set back for these little machines. even on my other daughters 4-zinger 60 her little 6 inch paddles made a difference when roaming around the dunes.

yeah no kidding they want to shut down our favorite play place because of a lizard and these a-holes just want to make it a little easier. even my 5 yr old knows better before we left saturday night we made sure all around our area was picked up along with trash thats obviously been there awhile and like pete always says pack it in and pack more out. like i said in the other post for those that didnt get to it. even at a higher speed the way the car rotated around basically a backflip that went bad and the distance/drop off was pretty intense. just like when racing r/c cars when you stay on the gas the car will continue to lift the front end if you hit the gas the nose would drop down. standing at the spot where the car last had tire tracks sent a chill up my spine just thinking about what these guys had going through there heads knowing they didnt stand a chance in hell of it alot of blood in that car. surprised the rescue crew just didnt snip the top off the car and lift em out instead of snipping the side and dragging them out. as far as strength sand cars are not built as well or strong as off road race cars at 120mph these cars would be a tin can when all is said and done. thats the problem with there not being any type of law as far as frames and tube wall. at least in racing people like SNORE & MORE govern a chassis structural integrity

why bother roping off the people i parked with had people running over and through there camp several times a day it got even worse at night it was obvious alot of people had no idea of where they were at.

what you all are forgetting is a major reason why people would even consider the little dunes. i know this past weekend sucked major a$$ for my kids to be able to ride comfortably. we were parked just down from the ddr camp and it was like a drag strip from 8am when we arrived to 9pm when we left. the little dunes are probably the safest place for the littles to be able to ride.

belts or not made no difference in the outcome when i saw them they were both still in there seats they could have had helmets to and still no change. you had to see the gap and drop off to realize the impact the last tracks seen were at the top of the dune some 30+ feet away facing north by the time it had rotated around and landed on the rear and roof it was facing south. i have seen off road cars take beatings and flip upside down and lay over a cage like it was brake tubing. im not saying this car was not braced properly but i have seen a ton of sand cars with very little if any upper cage supports. just look around at all the 4 seaters with no "b" pillar its a scary thought.

yes the accident was very unfortunate 2 guys 1 was newly married and the car was just finished. it seems they were heading up the hill and jumped a dune not realizing or being able to see that it had a pretty steep drop on the other side into a hole maybe 30+ foot drop off. he was obviously on the gas as the a$$ end rotated around and thats what hit the ground first and proceeded to lay over the entire cage from rear to front instantly taking out the 2 occupants. apparaently one of the guys brother was behind him saw him dissapear and not come up the other side. at least thats what the off duty sherriff i was camped with was told when we arrived at the scene of the accident. prayers go out to the entire family

hey pete i know they have had a business license for county of san bernadino and they are supposed to go to the blm office this week to pick up the vendors permit. i would guess it is first come as far as parking no set parking spots for anybody

so does anybody have any info about vendors showing up for halloween weekend. like what day do they usually show up. i have a friend that is selling shirts for the first time at dumont usually they just do the off road events for S.N.O.R.E. and M.O.R.E. along with a few car shows.

ill be out saturday morning probably somewhere my kids can ride around without any major crowding i hear that they do a trick or treat in the evening for kids? i went for my first rail ride this past weekend in my buddies mid travel vw with a turbo a couple of trips up comp and a few other places very nice. now maybe i can beg don for a ride in a long travel and hook up with pete for a mini rail ride pleasssssssssssssssse. does anyone know if suspension unlimited will be out there giving rides i would like a sample of a few different rails.
