This is what I do. I got this at Home Depot.

I only use it for camping. I pack it with firewood at home, and dump the wood when we make camp.
I couldn't believe how bad comp hill looked on Sun morn Halloween weekend. Is it that hard to crush your cans and bring them back to camp?
I also pick up "stuff" whenever I stop. I think littering is getting worse.
that's a great idea

I never get past Dumont. Hope to be there for T Day. Not sure what shipping would cost.
Not sure if we're gonna make it for Tday or not; if I see ya there, I'll bring the money, but if you sell first, by all means: great price!

Yah, I don't think Darren Peterson's receipt has been blowing around the dunes for 8 years though...I suppose it's been in his glove box until recently when it found it's way to litter our dunes. The I don't care attitude that people have, is what will shut down more riding areas...way to go

I'm interested... Sounds like it'd match the one I have now, and my girls will be outta the infant seats soon...trying to plan ahead

do you head to so.cal. ever?

I got a few days off work, and my regular dune group is out of town...thinking about running up to the D friday am- sunday...anybody mind another hauler in their camp?

I fear these stories of big companies may become all too common...RIP lil' twinkie. Might have to buy a box and freeze them for the grandkids someday

I always enjoy checking out all the pics! It's been too long since my last sand fix, and work has me so busy, I don't know if I am going to get in one trip this season
If I do, it'll be a one day driving frenzy.Keep the pics coming!

good looking out; Many dog lovers on here. Good deeds don't go unnoticed
-
first big trip of the season is bound to be riddled with incidents

...drive safe and sober everyone!

I heard about a feature where you can use an iPhone app as a viewfinder/screen. Is this the one that does that?
-
I couldn't resist
I was expecting a worse lashin' than that though...I mean, don't we have like a half dozen mechanics on here or so

-
yah, great post eddy! That's frickin awesome.
Quite a bit different character you had though, than these two jerks. They were malicous and even manipulative trying to cover their tracks...This is just another reason I don't trust anyone who works at the dealership service department

You haven't ridden until you have been on a finely tuned 2 stroke single or twin cylinder quad. The fact that you have to learn on how to keep the bike "up on the pipe" and shift it to do so is so different than the 4 strokes. The 4 strokes are great but you don't have to "ride" them as much you just go along for the ride, don't have to downshift at just the right time as you do on a 2 stroke. I rode both and prefer the banshee and always will have a love for the sound and the skill a good Banshee rider has. But then that's just my opinion and we all now what that's worth:)
yup yup;
I run my wifes raptor sometimes, but my favorite time on a quad is borrowing my buddies banshee! Light and nimble, and hitting the power band

SXSs seems to be the future... I can't imagine paying 35k for a SXS. Since that is well into a decent sand car.
I guess the SXSs are supposed to be more reliable??? but i would still rather have a car.
Not much new in the quad world for a while so not much to see there anyway. waiting for a twin cylinder sport ATV.

Not sure that a NEW sxs would be any more reliable than a NEW rail;
I think the biggest draw with those are the financing. I mean, who has 50-60 grand to go buy a new rail, and what bank would loan you that kind of money on a vehicle that doesn't come with a blue book value...
...but most anybody can go down and sign up for a convenient monthly payment for a sxs.
I'm not talking crap on them by any means, just my $0.02 as to why they've become so popular.

This will be our first trip with our 17 month old twins, wish me luck!
Haha

I laugh only because we're in the same boat. Now, @ 2 years, we took our girls out last february for their first trip...Lil' pink goggles...GOOD LUCK trying to keep their goggles on. Eventually they fall asleep on a gentle buggy run, and then it's fine, but ours didn't want anything to do with their goggles, so yeah...GOOD LUCK

Everybody have a great trip, and take lots of pics!

Happy Thanksgiving DDR
in General Chat
Posted
Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I believe in a positive outllok, despite how easy it is to jump in and criticize everything. I certainly have a lot to be thankful for!
Last year, we had our first Thanksgiving in Children's hospital fearing the worst for our lil' boy. This year, we are home, as a family. I was taught my whole life that children are a blessing; but enduring the frustrations that all of our kids give us, at times most of us would question that
, but I just want to say to cherish those lil' hellians. I've enjoyed watching my boy growing and learning during his first year of school. Running and playing. Eating and sleeping well. Little things that we all take for granted.
We changed up our dune setup this year. We bought a 5er and sold our old bus. My wife is especially thankful for that
.
Work has improved, and is keeping me busy again. At times, too busy..., but thankful to be supproting my family in this economy.
Last night, we were coming home on the fwy and came up on a motorcycle accident. The bike was destroyed. It got ran over by a truck. The dude was ok, but shredded up a bit. Did what I could to help until other arrived, but left thinking wow, Thanksgiving will be a thankful time for him from now on...but then realized, it depends on his outlook, and how he reacts to the reality of the situation. It made me reflect a little.
We have a tradition around the dinner table every year, of everyone saying something they are thankful for; I'm wondering if anyone else has anything they are thankful for?
