well the problem is it's not greasy or grimmy just real dusty and sandy just want to hose it off . but i've always hosed off my gas engines while running and have heard to hose the diesel off cold

I have heard to clean your engine cold , i have heard clean your engine running (i've always done it this way ). but what is the best way to hose off your engine compartment .

ok thay all leak but off the bell housing area . it's not like pissing on the groung just a film of oil and a slight dribble , my drive way has a oil film but not a puddle
