  1. Rap, as for the right spot....where exactly would be the right spot for sticker that is that freakin big? haha. I REALLY hope they change the size of the sticker...maybe make one size for larger vehicles and smaller ones for bikes and quads....those stickers are hideous and will make me purchase non resident cali stickers probably.
  2. I was at banshee hill when I saw you guys towing that rail from Comp.
  3. I saw them ride their rail up and down comp a few times....must be nice to be able to play on the dunes while working haha...oh, then I saw a ranger in a RZR with his lights on on the finger in front of 6 posing for pictures too haha.
  4. We got there late Friday night and set up about 70 yards in front of #6 and got set up for some good morning riding. We got up around 9 hoping to get some good runs in but we only mangaged to get 2 so so runs in when my buddy's banshee seemed to bog a little too much to his liking so he went to change the sprocket setup and broke.....ended up working on it the rest of the day. I can honestly say I didn't mind it all that much anyway since people seemed to zoom all over without following any kind of lines and the place was getting chopped up. The law really liked to check people for their stickers, that is for sure! I normally don't go on big weekends and probably will make this our last big weekend. It is cool to be around all the rigs out there but it sucks waking up sore as hell from the beating you take riding. We went to comp late saturday night probably around 1030pm or so with a couple guys from my camp after his banshee got fixed and it was only a handful of people out there....we went up and over comp through a few bowls, looked at the lights around the camps, then headed back to ours....that was probably the coolest part of the trip. We made one good run Sunday morning through a ton more ruts and called it quits, headed back to Vegas in the Snow(second coolest part of the trip) I had 2 close calls and it was hard going all out with the throttle around the bowls and hitting the normal lines due to the ruts, even with my upgraded shocks.....I can say though, I LOVE my long travel elka rear I put on prior to this trip, it soaked up everything....my main thing was the side to side shake of the front end. Purchased a CCP stabilizer to see if that helps any.....sure can't hurt. I did manage to buy a couple shirts too, feel bad for the vendors there kind of, they seem to be placed way away from the crowd and right next to the cop shack pretty much. Some of them didn't seem like they had done a whole lot of business and seemed less than trilled to be out there.
  5. i pretty much have been doing the same thing. i have a sandisk extreme 45mb/s 16gb and have been recording on 720p 60fps
  6. heading down either friday night or early saturday morning, coming back sunday.
  7. the guy i do most of my riding with just bought the GP3. interested to see how it does vs my GP2. we'll be hitting glamis this weekend through next week. hopefully we get some good vid
  8. don't most beetles destroy stuff anyway? i know there is a beetle that can wipe out an entire forrest
  9. i rode mine with my new elkas and could notice a big difference in how the front felt and the rear. i'm in the market now for a rear stage 4 LT elka
  10. Looks like Dumont is getting some much needed wind after seeing all the rutted up pictures. Might be a bit breezy Sat and Sun.
  11. my 2nd and 3rd clips the SD card popped out just a little bit and the video didn't take.....which sucked because i hit a sweet a$$ jump....probably my best ever and I don't jump much at all. It would have looked sweet from this angle. i've put a little foam sticker inside the case and I think it will keep the SD card from sliding out a little. I guess the vibration does it. This vid was my second ever edit.
  12. as for the mounts i was talking about the stick pads. i got one on the side of my helmet, the back, and one on the rear heel guard now. i think i might be able to turn the gopro around on that spot behind the heel guard and get some reverse footage over the rear tire...not sure though.
  13. Damn....one of the main reasons I stay away from busy weekends.
  14. yeah i actually mounted some mounts today, one on the back of my helmet and one on my the front side of my heel rest...may relocate that one though....don't like the way it looks hahah. i have pro armor nerfs so they don't come straight up in the heel, they come inward....Edit(i relocated the mount and put a new one behind the heel guard, you can see a little bit of it in the bottom of my vid but not that bad. now i just worry of it breaking off and losing the camera. i might actually put a piece of safety wire on the case and secure it to the nerf bar somehow so if it does vibrate and break it will have a safety line holding it) i didn't go out today, too much football....but i'm going back out tomorrow to try the new angles....the heel guard one probably won't work due to the amount of vibration from the rough terrain but i'm going to try out the rear helmet mount. i'm definitely going out there when i get my elkas because what better place than apex to tell if you've really upgraded your suspension or not haha.
  15. cool man thanks, i guess i'll try mounting reverse mounting it on my helmet. i do like the shots you have on your heel guard, trying to find a place on mine for that setup. i like to go out to apex to test out stuff before i make a trip all the way out to dumont and then not like what i've changed. i also like to just get out and ride even if i'm not riding hard.
  16. instructions? haha. j/k. it seems to work ok, it's the editing that takes some work. but there are some times when it looks like it's sped up. i took it to dumont a couple weeks ago when i first got it, and forgot to turn it on sometimes, hit the power button too many times, etc etc. haha.
  17. i've seen people off to the left lower corner of B5 near the tip of that long finger and fairly close to it....plenty of sand there.
  18. we found this out the hard way. there was an old campfire up near a dune one night we came in real late so we pulled up beside that thinking people must have had to have camped there recently and ended up halfway over the rear axle on our modified toyhauler box truck. We have low skirts on it so that were dug right in too. Ended up digging out until 6am....it was a long miserable day. That was just off to the left of 6 all the way up near the dune. Pretty sure we'll hang around our normal spot near 6 for now on haha.
  19. been tooling around apex to take some footage so that my next trip to dumont i don't waste all my time fooling around with the gopro. i'm trying to learn tooling around in vegas so that my trips to dumont etc i can get some good stuff. question is, sometimes, it looks like my footage when i play it back on my computer is in fast forward or something. what do you normally set yours on? i had it on 720p 30 today on accident, meant to have it on 720p 60. do the megapixels matter? i'm running 11mp at the moment. sometimes my footage just doesn't look very smooth, like it's in fast forward or something. also, not sure what happend but i mounted it to my rear grab bar and when i got done with my best run of the day and an awesome jump heading up a hill(i very rarely jump) i got back to my truck and noticed it said SD not installed...weird. i also came around a turn and a dude was taking a dump and i whipped the rear end around to get a little footage haha.
  20. lazarus does really good work but yeah, had i found a deal like yours i would have been all over it.
  21. yeah the yfz beats me to death on the weekends the dunes were worn in pretty good. my shocks are pretty stiff and i have preload out as far as i can get it and compression low...still kinda stiff. he has a guy that comes to the race track he goes to that set them up for him for 200...Matt Blommel. i won't get that kind of price around here but i think i might try and maybe get ishock to set them up for me. i hear they are pretty good and shipping won't be that bad to san diego. i also talked to lazarus sommers from GTThunder and he said he can revalve and respring for 395 for the pair so he's got me thinking. that is one killer deal. i'm not wanting LT though.
  22. Yeah they are the right ones....I'm keeping standard travel. Got them for 550 they were just serviced for a 175 lb rider and he decided to go LT. He has the receipt for the service too. They are in excellent shape. That's a killer deal on your shocks rap, shame I couldn't come across that. Wonder how much it would cost to set mine up for 225 pound rider?
