  1. That extra 5 dollars for those shocks I sold you didn't make you have to sell the hauler did it haha......j/k man....good looking hauler. I want one bad, house comes first though. Good to meet you the other day.
  2. right now it's florida but i'm moving to a permanent address once the house closes so i'm going to switch all my stuff to Nevada. My title for the quad is still the original from the guy I bought it in in California so I'm going to re-title it too. I guess i'll just buy another Cali non-res sticker for the time being because i'm not going to be at my permanent address until 1 November and can't technically register my quad in Nevada since I do not have a Nevada drivers license from the way it looks anyway. Speaking of Armagosa, looks like that weekend at the end of September we were talking about it supposed to be in the upper 70's for a high
  3. Since I'm in the Military I am not a resident of Nevada yet( I plan on getting all that stuff changed over but It will not be before the season ). Does Nevada have a non resident registration sticker or would it just be easier for now to get a non resident California sticker?
  4. Anyone know which weekend is considered the holiday weekend as far as a pass goes by the BLM?
  5. Is there anyone you know that has one similar they could let you hook up to and tow around the block or something just to get an idea? Along with hooking the weight distribution hitch up to it?
  6. I want to get out there as soon as it cools down, I may go out for a day trip the weekend before Halloween...they might be having some FSA races and I'd like to see one of those.
  7. i'm in the same situation with my Quad...I really need to get a real tune on it...just been doing it by ear so far...one place I took it was way too expensive...I may use Quadmania now but they don't use dyno tires...may have to purchase some myself for cheap. I'm in the process of buying a home otherwise I would just go to cali.....all that said, I did find this little nugget from Dan at Dynojet in las vegas, yes they seem to be closed to the public but..... (Doesn't say anything about Subaru tuning though so you would have to contact them but read below) Quote from Dan @ Dynojet: Joe, let me give you a quick run down......... I'm the VP of Sales at Dynojet Research, Inc. We manufacture chassis dynos and performance enhancing products for both the automotive and powersports markets. Shops such as Steeda, Lingenfelter, or you name it, use our dynos for product development or tuning. Our performance enhancing products are primarily focused on powersports applications (motorcycles / ATV's). Most guys expect to be able to come to Dynojet to get their bike or car tuned, but we're strictly an R&D facility that is closed to the public. Since we do make tuning products for motorcycles / ATV's, we do perform a fair amount of testing here. We do have four of our popular chassis dynos in-house (those that you'd find at a modern EFI speed shop), and one of them is our AWD automotive model. So, officially we're not open to the public M-F, but......... We use our Model 424xLC to tune / calibrate Fords, Lincolns , and Mercury vehicles. DDT has a tremendous amount of experience in chassis dyno testing and we do offer tuning services. A lot of the technology we offer hasn't even hit the market, so in some cases that affords me the ability to offer services that are not available anywhere else. When I operate in this capacity, "Dyno Dan, LLC", another gentleman by the name of Carl Chastain actually performs the testing and tuning these days. I'm no longer based in Las Vegas , but I do spend *some* of my time in that location if that’s of any consolation. Carl Chastain is more than capable to calibrate your vehicle properly, he has access to all of my tuning software and facilities. I'm never more than an IM, email, or phone call to assist in the event that anything pops up. Carl is usually available M-F from 5-9 pm, so just keep that in mind from a scheduling perspective. So, now that the official statement has been made, WOW, I have to commend you on your endeavors with your car. You’ve gone in pretty deep to the systems level and obviously have a strong command over the calibration process…..again….wow, I commend you. Carl and I normally don’t get involved with “dyno run only†type of stuff, mostly just the custom tuning while on dyno sorta thing J In any case, it’s up to Carl if he can bring you in a make some runs on the dyno. There are a few places around town with one of our automotive dynos, and I believe their rates are quite cheap. In any case, I need to hook you up with Carl Chastain when he has time. Good luck with your project. You can always reach me via email: dwh@dynojet.com cchastain@dynojet.com or 702-526-3737 Dan’s cell (rarely able to answer) 702-525-2939 Carl’s cell Regards, ---------------- Dan Hourigan Dynojet Research Inc. dwh@dynojet.com Dynojet Research Inc.- Power Commander, Automotive Dynamometers, Motorcycle Dynamometers, ATV Dynamometers, Jetkits, Wideband Commander, Wideband Commander 2, WB2 http://dynodantuning.com/Services.html
  8. tuning any kind of sand toy seems to be lacking severely in Vegas.....sucks. Maybe when you say Subaru they think it's AWD? Here is a link from last year about Dynojet...not sure if this is the same place or not. This guy got a mustang tuned there by dudes named Dan and Carl http://forums.corral.net/forums/gt-sohc/1370308-dyno-tuners-las-vegas.html
  9. must mean the economy is kicking or something since people are taking the time to venture out again(although it seems the rangers will cause a lot of people to not want to go to another one, shame for the businesses that benefitted) Wonder if Dumont will see an influx of people this year?
  10. I have a set of SE standard travel shocks off of my 2007 YFZ 450SE. These shocks are good upgrades over previous years stock shocks since they have rebound, high/low speed compression, and preload adjustments. These shocks are in great shape and were covered by dirt skinz shock covers to prevent sand from blowing into them. Previous owner used the quad for 10 hours and I put about 6-7 trips on them after purchasing the quad. I would like to sell all 3 together with the rear standard travel linkage. $250 or best reasonable offer and I also have a Set of 20X10X10 7 paddle skat trak extremes on ITP wheels(Yamaha bolt pattern) in excellent condition, just a little dusty from storage. Only about 4 weekends on them, no nicks or gouges. These are some of the best tires money can buy for stock to mildly built machines if you're looking for the 10 inch profile wheels. $225 or reasonable offers. This setup cost close to 400 new. I take care of my stuff and both of these sale Items are in great condition. no low ballers 850-5two7-one three nine six. Locals to Las Vegas the prices will be a little cheaper since I don't have to ship.
  11. I think there is an option on there to make it a little better quality. Did you try vimeo? I think it also has to do with what you're uploading it as...youtube may only be able to produce 1080p or 720p quality. I think the black is 1440p. It's been a while since I've uploaded one, Adam can probably chime in on this one, he's good with all that editing kind of stuff. I only have a Hero 2 but they come out decent quality and it seems like it's sped up sometimes or something.
  12. nice, wouldn't mind hitting that place up sometime.
  13. Surprised to hear it was a big turnout.....people must have had the itch.
  14. Yeah that was a big group of riders the last one out, looked like a ton of fun.....got me really chomping at the bit to ride. I'm getting back from Afghanistan in August sometime around the 10th. I think I'd be down for a day trip before I head back to Virginia to pick up my truck and stuff.
  15. Power Hungry Performance is who I sent my Edge into for custom tunes and programming. I bet this news hurts that small business pretty bad, they were good people.
  16. But does anyone do those early morning runs at Dumont in August? If so, part of the month is it normally?
  17. damn, i bought one from ogden and had it upgraded to a gryphon by a company in georgia. how in the hell can you determine a number like that....these freaking "green" people suck. anything that will net you better gas mileage these days it seems they want it illegal.
  18. Helmet goggles gloves mostly. I do have riding pants that I wear now....so comfy in shorts tho. Used to be a shoe wearer but just got some comp 5 ankle boots....still a little weird shifting...I like to feel the shifter with my toes, ive missed several gears with the comp 5s but im getting better, they are decently light too but rub the hell out of my frame. I have a chest protector but havent worn it in the dunes yet
  19. yeah it's funny, i feel like i'm hauling a$$ then look at video and i'm like....damn that's slow looking.
  20. lots of dune pics of the month in here....i'm jealous!!
  21. Yeah pretty crazy. On my last trip in march before I deployed we were in a group going pretty fast and a guy bit it over a drop like the first vid..he was unconscious for a bit. After my big wreck im a little more cautious than I was....cant wait to get home and maybe make a morning run
