  1. Anybody up for a beer tonight at PT's?
  2. Not grinding on the subject Pete but beer during the day is the same as the gin at night except it is less alcohol by volume. Not to say 3-4 beers dosen't give anyone more courage, IE to do stupid things. When is the last time you saw a bunch of buggies stop and not have a beer in their hand then fire em up and take off to the next beer stop with 400-600 HP under their direct control. I know because I don't drink much anymore that 1-2 makes me think i am invincible again that is why I try to be extra careful with it. Nobody is pointing any fingers but I think all of us who recreate at Dumont have to realize that alcoho l is a problem there and probably always will be.
  3. I agree with Richard. If you take the long term of more than just a couple of deaths over the last 2 years and look at the ones you don't know about or that drinking was a factor and it was just not stated then the ratios go way up. I can remember incidents over the years and there were so few non drinking incidents I can't remember the specifics of them. But there are enough of the drinking ones that I can tell you that I was there many weekends where more than one accident resulted in body bags and torn apart families. You know my personal rules about drinking and driving. Driving is for daytime and campfires are for drinking. I learned that lesson the hard way and came closer to being a sastistic my self. I rode banshee's with a bunch of very fast riders, kinda of how I learned. It was like racing motocross at top speed. After awhile I heard that some of the guys were taking "safety stops" then riding at full throttle passing and being passed by me. I learned what a safety stop was and that was it I didn't ride with them anymore. Nice guys but I am not putting my life on the line to ride with someone who is messed up and it cost's me. i have had my share of accidents in the dunes but all of them have been my stupidity not from being intoxicated or inexperienced, they were screwups just that plain and simple.
  4. Pete, I agree inexperience is a major factor in accidents at the dunes and at the lakes. However alcohol plays a much larger factor than you think, I would believe that 75% at least of people being involved in an acvcident at Dumont have been drinking or over the limit. When's the last time you saw a bunch of buggies stop at North Pole or Comp and all of them pull out a water or soda from their coolers. I quit riding Harley's with a bunch of people because by 9AM I was the only sober rider in a group of bikes doing 75 down the highway. What was wrong with that picture? I am not preaching I am just saying alcohol plays a major role in people getting hurt and killed at the dunes and on the water. When you combine inexperience and alcohol you are just an accident waiting to happen. :porn:
  5. Ya gotta give the guys :freakin_nuts: for trying something different! Can you imagine how fast that must feel being that close to the ground and going that fast?
  6. Pervert!! Can I borrow it after you watch it? :porn:
  7. I am on the fence. I really want to get some more time in the car since a business venture I am getting into may limit my ability to come out during the season. So I just might have to jump in the M/H and go! :rainbow1:
  8. Go to Camping world and get one of these; http://www.campingworld.com/browse/skus/in...nk/skunum=14747
  9. I am not sure exactly what your talking about cause I speak english but if your trying to connect 2 pieces of the hose together they make a connector that slides over both ends of the hose and then you tighten the nuts down and it crimps itself. If you have a picture of the tubing and what your trying to fix i would take it to Johnnie walkers parts dept and ask them for some advice and the needed parts. Advice is usually free and the piece that I am thinking might be needed was less than 5 bucks. :freakin_nuts:
  10. Now that's funny I don't care who you are! :mischevious:
  11. Hell you could have heated up the water in the toy hauler for a week and found someone who wouldn't have hammered you so hard!
  12. My understanding from ford is that if there is any modification to the exhust on the 08 it completely voids your warranty.
  13. Most trailers show their max Gvw on the tounge and if it is less than the 10k or 15 k for 5vers you should have no problem. Remember it's not what you actually weigh it's what's on the trailer sticker. I doubt they are going to hold you to wait for a mobile scale. Also I doubt that they would require you to drop your trailer unless they were going to sit there and babysit it as it then becomes their liability if it was stolen or caused an accident of some type. Just my Personal opinion.

  19. Just got an E-mail back from BLM on the road. They planning on rolling and grading it the last week of July. The contract for the sealent has not been let as of yet but it is still their plan to have everything done before the start of the new season.

  21. I am in says my male macho ego! BTW; Pete did you find this smiley just for me?
  22. Yes it does, jared a welded bolt right off my flatbed. Luckily Nick was behind me and stopped me before i drug my ramp all the way up the road. I am sending BLM an e mail about it in the morning.
  23. If it is a V8 then I believe your going to have continu ing issues with any tranny less than a 2-d at a minimum. If the motor is built or turbo'd you better be thinking of a S-4 or S-5 at a minimum. I will tell you from experience that the northstar motor can be difficult to find anybody that knows the engine and will work on it.
