I have a whole drawer full of plastic bags and when we take the dog out wether at the dunes or for a walk we pick up after her. Only place we don't is if we are in the middle of a vacant lot. I hate stepping in it and I don't think burying it at the dunes is the answer either as the next weekend your little ones may be digging in the same area. It's not such a big deal to pick up after them after all it's your dog and you brought him and the food so it's Pack it in Pack it out!

I want to congrulate the whole gang here at DDR! From a personal viewpoint i have met a great group of people who care about the dunes as I do. On a bigger level I want to Thank and again congratulate DDR from Friends of Dumont Dunes. You have helped us get the word out on so many issues and happenings that a small organization like ours would have never been able to get out that it would be impossible to place a value on it. I know that as the man of the group my ways of doing things are a little mellower than some of the other's on this site but I aapreciate the respect and the assistance when my walker gets stuck in the sand :freakin_nuts: Again congrats Pete you make this thing Rock Mr. El Presidente!

Luckily Ash called me because I had no idea what the hell he was talking about. He is one of my mortgage customers and my company puts out a quarterly mailer. Apparently it had some eat healthy tips and some reciepe in it along with my picture. His wife was giving him grief about getting reciepes from me. Thats the story and I am sticking to it.

I have goodyears on my trailer and the one before it with no problems. My fifth wheel had Firestones and I got Great service out of those tires. I would buy Firestone trailer tires again in a heartbeat.

Bob, from what I understand the Kelso Dunes are on the Federal Registry and will Never be able to be reopened without a full blown act of Congress. In otherwords it would have to pass the house and senate to get re opened and then the countless law suits that the greenies would file plus having a president that would have the nads to sign it into law. If you take the amount of money aqnd lobbyist the greenies have in Washington I think you would have a better chance of pigs flying. Not that I wouldn't want it to happen but reality is what it is.

I vote for Yamalube, I have ran it in all my 2 strokes and it has never left me with a problem, Rocky mountain ATV have the best case price that I know of. Also Congrats Nick, youhave more cajones than me riding them things in the dunes!

I found this beautiful summer poem and thought it might help make your day. It did make mine, and it's very well written. " Summer " a poem by Abigail Elizabeth McIntyre sh*t! It's Hot! That was the theme for the ride, It was friggen hot!! But following Pete was a blast and I am amazed every time I watch that car and how nimble it is. Dunes were a little hairy to say the least but still fun running at the edge and not knowing what was coming. Enjoyed that ride Pete! Having a power steering hose blow off upon arrival at camp sucked but luckily lot's of peeps around this morning to help fix it and thanks to JJ we had a gallon of tranny fluid to refill the tank, bummer is that Richard had already been to Pahrump and was on the way back when we found out JJ had it. Grandson hit a witches eye but came out ok Bike is going to get new tie rods cause they look funny dangling underneath it! I am very happy with the car as it hit 80 on radar up Banshee hill in the dark with no idea where the hill ended so I was backing out of it. All in all I had fun and was happy I changed my mind about going. Thanks to Walt for the mechanic work!

I talked to BLM today and the contractor told them they would rate the road as a "B" on a scale of A-F. I told them I would e mail them on Monday with our score.

A word of advice cause I have seen it happen. The stock fuel system is vacumn operated. If for any reason it loses its seal it will start then quit and be very hard to start. Their is a line that runs off of the fuel tank over by the fuel pump and is held onto a T-fitting with a clamp, remove the clamp and pull the line off. Blow into the line and hold your finger over the tip of the line that goes into the roll cage for venting. This causes the system to repressurize. Tuff thing to do is get the line your blowing into back onto the t fitting without losing to much pressure. I have this fix work 3 times out in the middle of nowhere. Yeah you have to have gas in the tank though! :worthless_without_pics:

When I first got the car a friend of one of our group was all over the car taking pics and did this to one of them. I kinda like it just cause it turned things around.

Off weekends for me. I have no plans(although they are subject to change) to go out on the busy weekends. I have made the decision after missing the big weekends last year that I didn't miss much and didn't mind at all that I wasn't there for them. That's a first for me. My family had no idea who I was at Thanksgiving dinner since I hadn't been home for T-day in 12 years. I want to ride, relax and enjoy the dunes with friends and family not deal with idiots, pit racers and other pains in the a$$ that make the holiday weekends stressful, dusty and just not worth it. So at this point I am staying home those weekends and going out when all the num nuts are fixing their stuff.

Congratulations Bert!! Now the pain begins!!

Just so you know Aaron Russo is a crackpot that actually moved to vegas a few years ago to run for Govener. He of course didn't make it but his TV ads were interesting to watch. His theory about the Federal tax laws has some points but I have watched several other guys with similar ideas fight the IRS and get other suckers involved. They are now all in jail or have had to file bankruptcy for protection. I only watched part of this film because I know Russo is full of BS and I didn't want to waste my time. He is how they say? A KOOK!
