  1. Congrats...I just got mine done for Labor Day Weekend and YELLOW ROCKS...
  2. earlier this year: http://www.atyourleisurenevada.com/episode...&category=6 http://www.atyourleisurenevada.com/episode...&category=1
  3. I have a sled motor powered 2 seat mini with belt drive and love it. The biggest problem with the belt is heat and of course the sand. The only time I fry a belt is racing up the mtn over and over and not letting the belt cool down. Last year at St.Anthony we were parked next to this rail. If you are familiar with sleds then you will reconize "hymark" on the side. The tranny and clutches were built by the owner Steve Benson.
  4. Last T-Day was my first and only time to Dumont. I had a great time and hope to head out your way again. The ride following Pete around was a blast. btw, I finally got my rail painted. It's hard for me to travel the long distances when LS is only 90 miles from my house and St. Anthony is about 4.5 hours away. Each year I have been going to at least one new dune destination but now they are getting farther away so that might slow down. I have been to Coral Pink but not ridden so that will be my next "new spot" to visit. I like the big weekends. We do about 20 dune trips a year. the pic is last weekend at little sahara
  5. I took these pics a few years back They tried to climb a dune that was a little to steep and didn't turn out soon enough They also spent the entire day getting the tires off and taking them into town to fix/air up and then rented a trailer to tow it home
  6. I just read through this thread and must admit I really did lol.......
  7. nope, the red quad is Brindley's and the purple one is his wife's Misty. there from Idaho here is a pic from the shoots at the base of our mtn
  8. Well I had a Great Time. It was my first trip to Dumont :xmas_cool: After finally finding the DDR camp, I was able to meet up with Pete. We did a rail ride out to the and then play'd at comp. Thanks Pete, It was an awesome ride. It was my only true rail ride since I was the only rail in our camp. Also got to see the "old skool" rails at the flat drags. I've got some video clips that I will post up soon. Here are some pics....
  9. It looks like I will be going to Dumont for the first time over T-Day. Could someone add to my map where the dunes are and also where Tecopa is. I will be driving down through Vegas and thought of trying the route through Tecopa you are talking about. Thanks

  11. RK....I thought you wanted a new one? and I agree on the motor comments already said....be double sure before making a move
  12. My rail is a little smaller than Pete's with less travel (suspension). I've been working on it for about 6 years and I think it's done (reliable) and ready for power coat. I'm on a tight budget so it has taken a while but I figure I'm in to it about 9 grand, that includes $900 for the motor. When going slow it feels more like an atv on the rough stuff but once you get going they fly. The other thing I love is how low you sit compared to an atv and giving rides is a blast. I have an 8x14 trailer with my yfz sideways the rails fits perfect. It also fits on a 7x10 trailer I bought for a golf cart. I have a sled motor in mine and the belt drive (automatic) is nice. It's harder to tune for elevation and temp and I am just starting to figure out the clutching. The busa motors have alot more power and I think overall would be best and faster. I have ridden in the busa/turbo long travel versions and all I can say is hold on...what a rush. Good luck on your choice...hope this helps
  13. Here is another option: http://www.collierscustoms.com/ they are also using the tranny with reverse
  14. Having a choice is great....but...... I always wear mine and all passengers as well. what I do not like is when someone "has the choice" and decides not to wear one and then has a wreck and I show up to help. I say this because it has happened many times over the years and I hate the bloody mess. It seems like the head and face always get mess'd up. Most of the accidents I have helped with would have turned out for the better if only a helmet would have been worn. Is it that big of a deal to wear one???? One of the wrecks earlier this year was when a sand rail was sitting on top of a dune taking a break when a dumb azz kid on a raptor decides to jump this dune without checking it out first or having a spotter and lands on the passenger side hitting the roll bar, motor and wedges his tire between the motor and rear tire. Of course the raptor rider had no helmet and guess who had to deal with the mess. We all have a choice to use common sense that's for sure. Anything can happen at anytime, why not be prepared?
  15. thank sheriff......thoose are the ones http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/dzus.htm
  16. I like them also. I am still deciding what to do for panels on my rail. How are the attached? bolts or the quick release tabs...can't remember the name of them
  17. I hope it's true but still won't go to citgo unless it's an emergency....lot's of them around here I buy chevron fuel mostly
