dunefreak Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I doubt there are any kia rio owners on here that would know. Check and see if the engine codes match. Maybe call the Kia dealer parts dept and have them look up each year car and see if the motors are different. Quote
draggindre Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 thats what i thought, but there may be some good mechs that know i have just never messed with anything from kia and my friends boy just needs a ride i also told him to reserch it with the dealer but no word yet Quote
SandBurro Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kia_Rio Looks like you might be ok. The Kia Rio between 2001 to 2005 seem to be the same car until 2006 where the engine and body was upgraded. Quote
draggindre Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 thanx for the info burro i looked and could not find it thanx again Quote
Jasonpwms129 Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 In Ca you can only swap in a eng from a newer model. Dont know if you have same issue there. IE: 2004 end in 2001 OK, 2001 eng in 2004 no workie. Wouldnt be able to register it. <.02 Quote
britincali Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 The only way you couldnt register it is if you notified the CHP, and who the hell does that Quote
