FireKracker
So I have been running a Honda 3.5 with a 091 built bus and made the jump to a 2D (actually a DECO) ... when I married up the 3.5 with the trans, i came across a challenge.... the starter motor was wanting to occupy the same space as the coolant manifold. So I went to GD.com and did some research and found a few threads on some mods that others have done. I am curious to find out what options I have (what have you done or seen) to alleviate my problem. I am pretty sure someone has one of these manifolds laying around or knows where I might find one....thanks
SAND~~SNAKE
Got a picture of the manifold? not really sure what a coolant manifold is? I might have what you need(got some extra parts)

FireKracker
Pete, is that a 3.2 or 3.5 ?? .... is that a gear reduction starter? The starter that I bought from John over at RC wont clock to that angle....problem possibly solved with a different starter... part #? dunefreak
3.5. I bought it/ didn't build it so your guess is as good as mine. Well yours is probably better. I haven't even wrenched on it yet.
FireKracker
After seeing Pete's pick, I did a little research and found a starter made by IMI specifically for a Honda and Mendeola application, It is a Hi Torque 101-NL... about 3 bones .... Thanks Jim and Pete for the help!! Edited September 14, 2013 by FireKracker
SAND~~SNAKE
Good Job!!! 101ln....Do you know what ln stands for?
FireKracker
I don't know what it stands for, I put the wrong letter down it is 101-NL....http://www.pacificcustoms.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PC&Product_Code=hitorque101nl&Category_Code=hi_torque_starters they are pretty proud of it though $$$
SAND~~SNAKE
High torque starter 101 nl......nose long. Mendi transmissions does not properly work with that starter, Intermittently grinds....Found after much research and conversations w/John @ outback and Chris at IMI the Mendi was machined 25 thousands out of specs and a SPECIAL ADAPTOR was needed to correct the issue. FireKracker
Super ..... I am using a DECO case...hopefully i won't have the same problem...if so, do you know where can I find that adapter plate?
SAND~~SNAKE
Correction John @ Outfront made his own version and no longer carries, Chris (IMI) machined one for me, After I spent $340.00 with them.
