EY3BA11 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 How much did that 3.8 setup cost him??? i might be getting my hands on a chenoweth 4 seater chassis and was just thinking if i did what motor/trans combo would i use... its either a 4.3 and 091 or something diffrent like mikes.. the idea of a supercharged 3.8 running its own FWD tranny is neat.. push the skinny pedal and go... what shifting.. EY3BA11 Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 What was there to fabricate other than motormounts??? and possibly some bracing? Quote
sanddunesaddict Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 thats about it and rear suspension cant use conventional trailing arm with this setup. unless the motor was way foward. Quote
EY3BA11 Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 That stinks... what has to be modded w/ the trailing arms?? is the motor really THAT wide they wouldnt clear.. Quote
sanddunesaddict Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 that engine and trans sits sideways just like in the car Quote
EY3BA11 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 well obviously but i didnt realize it was THAT wide though i mean its only a v-6 i wouldnt imagine it to be any wider than a VW motor Quote
Don29palms Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 If you run a 4.3 Chevy V6 with an 091 trans you'll be spending alot of money rebuilding transmissions. Quote
EY3BA11 Posted November 14, 2005 Author Posted November 14, 2005 If sanddunesaddict can run a 300hp buick grand national motor against a 091 and have it survive OK'ish im sure my piddly 190hp 4.3 will be fine w/ a 091.. Quote
