  1. Let's meet up at 6:30 at PT's on Horizon Ridge near Horizon in Henderson. Everyone is invited to come share stories about Bert and talk about the good times. Let's do a shot of ice cold milk in Bert's honor. Maybe even order a zookie.

  3. These were a few years ago in Glamis. We all must have done 50 wheelies off this lip. It was a ton of fun that day. And this one hangs in my kitchen- It was the first picture I took that made it into a magazine. I hung it for pride that I made a magazine, Now it hangs in memory of a lost friend. One thing I will never forget is his smile. Quirky smile but if fit him perfect and will be hard not seeing it again. I was one of the breakdown victims that Bert came to the rescue. He chased a bad ground in Talladega bowl and we fixed it enough to get back to camp. Not too many people out there just jump right in and help out and not expect anything in return. We can/should all learn from this man that its not about getting something in return but just helping out and doing the right thing.

  4. ^^ July DPOM it is, per Bert's request. He always flew the American flag on every one of his rides. I liked that. He was a great, patriotic guy.

  5. Well I posted the other picture and my remembrance of Bert in the wrong place But here is one form the last trip of the year. He had just finished being his usual helping person and pulled out our friend NE14SAND, I don't even think he had ever met him. We were in the middle of the last sunset ride of the season when Aaron's rail went down, not only did he drop out of the run, but he hung out and waited for the guys to get back with the truck and trailer... When I took this photo, he was very interested in what I was doing out in front of him getting just the right angle... when I showed him the photo, he really liked it and asked me to post it up for DPOM for July, to represent the 4th of July and America... So I saved it as he had requested... but here it is... I still want to have it for DPOM for July, since that was his request. I know I have one in for June, but if it's postponed, I want to change my pic entry to this one for July... Thank you... I didn't know Bert like most of the rest of you, I just know he was never unkind to me and was always helpful.

  6. When I joined this site and met Bert at Dumont the first time and found out his real name I told him I knew his father (who also was taken to soon). Bert and I had lot's of conversations about the time he and his dad spent at the dunes. He always said his dad was taken to soon and worried about it himself. Unfortunately he was right. Bert was a kind gentle soul and a friend to anyone and I for one am truly sorry that such a great person has left us. I keep Ashley and the kids in my thoughts and hope and know that his large extended family will be there to help. I am truly at a loss. Terry
