  1. A few months ago, my Burb was broken in to, effin' punks broke out the passenger window, rummaged thru everything!! The only thing I found missing was a cheapo disposable lighter, didn't even take the loose change out of the console. Apparantly didn't like my choice of music either, CD's still there, just tossed about. Whatta CREEPY feeling knowing some a$$hole was in my car!! Aaaaaarrrghhhhh Just to give you an idea how TOTALLY STUPID these punks were, there was a borrowed $3000 scan tool 'box' in the way back, my garage door opener is programmed into the Burb (overhead buttons), didn't have the garage door locked from the inside, handy-dandy little switch inside the garage so NO remote can open it, all the toys are in the garage, with keys in them. They could of had it all, but instead all they got was the satisfaction of the sound of breaking glass and knowing I had to pay to replace the window. Stupid thieves. I'm back into the habit of flipping that little 'ol switch now. No one is immuned to this kinda crap!!
  2. That sticker would look SOOOOOO cool on the back window of my Burb!!
  3. Fricken' thieves are still at it!! My eldest son, Justin, just informed me that his girlfriend's Tahoe was stolen from them last night. It's a: '97 2 door Dark burgandy, chevy's color desc.=Midnight Cherry Lowered on 20" chrome rims License #CBRGRL Has silver sport bike sticker on back window Passenger side front window is gone (that's all that's left in his driveway) Pretty much all stock except for the rims. If spotted PLEASE call Metro, or run it off the road and ask questions later! We've got lots of eyes on the road out there, so I told him I would post this up for him.
  4. No snow up here in the N/W area this morning, but looked just like that a couple-few years ago....guess it's the southerners' turn this time around! BEAUTIFUL pics, enjoy it while it lasts!
  5. Is that what those things are supposed to be used for!?!? We found one out at Dumont during a REALLY windy weekend and I use it as a hamper! Ironically, we found a giant frisbee on that same ride, I'm sorry, I know, :xmas_lipsrsealed:
  6. OH NO! My hubby LOVES his power washer, uses it to clean the quads, trailer, riding gear, motorcycle, driveway, etc., etc. I hope she didn't return it already, LOL!
  7. HALLELUIAH to that one! Add a swiffer mop to that, the little stick one that folds up for easy storage. Got kids and dog, 'nuf said.
  8. YUP! Always gotta have an alternate meal on board, i.e. Soup, stew, something quick on the stove. We spent 8 hrs in Cedar City one year receiving emergency vet care for our 1st lab, Penny. Didn't get back to camp (Navejo Lake area) until after 8pm. Too late to grill chicken, had soup and grilled cheese sammiches instead. Mmmmmm! Oh, BTW, if you line the ol' dutch oven with foil, makes for easier clean-up. That, or just toss it in back of the truck and clean it at home.
  9. We're lucky, TH came with the BBQ grill that mounts to the outside of the trailer, with propane hookup included. Use that A LOT! That statement reminded me of one of my "can't live without" items. It's a set of Lodge brand cast iron cookware; dbl burner griddle, skillet, pot w/lid, but especially the dutch oven! Turned out an awesome homemade stew in it, some BBQ pork ribs that would give Hog Heaven a run for their $$, and even baked a ham in it our 1st T-day out at Dumont. Just toss a bag of charcoal on board. Easy cookin'
  10. That is a MUST have!! Ours is picnic style, with the built in benches, heavy duty, not the lightweight aluminum fold away. Found it on sale at Target years ago.
  11. Thanks dear, but I can add to that. I had to buy queen size sheets, since I had never owned a queen bed before. Oh, the BEST investment was one of those 'pillow top' mattress pads for our bed, very comfy!! I know it may sound silly, but I loaded pillows from the house and replaced them with new. Like Davey said, I started collecting utensils, from steak knives to scissors, so I didn't have to worry about loading the can opener every trip. I have dish towels and bath towels (again, older ones from the house, nothin' fancy or expensive) that are designated for the hauler, LOL, wash and return. I always keep plenty of paper plates, cups, napkins, paper towels, and plastic utensils on board and keep a list posted on my little bulletin board for when it's time to re-up. And don't forget batteries! I keep a mini tote of all sizes for the flashlights, gameboy, etc.! I even have dishsoap, toothpaste, t-brushes, and shampoo just for the trailer. The way I see it, the less I have to haul on and off every trip the better!
  12. :chev_bowtie: I know we haven't met yet, but we are practically neighbors. I think we figured that out in the "Where do you live" thread. (My sister lives even closer to you, Smoke Ranch and Michael Way. She has a whole menagerie, LOL!) Anyway, we're in the same boat when we go outta town, kittys and critters need checkin' on. We take our dog with us. Luckily we have a couple of great neighbors we trade critter-sittin' with.
  13. Yeah, he's absolutely right!! When calling to reserve sites, make sure they know what you're camping with. Some spots may be too short to keep the hauler hooked up, then you need room to park the truck, too! Some campgrounds will have pull-thru spots which makes it much easier to park.
  14. I second that motion!! That's a shame, really sorry to hear the news.
  15. I'd love to get my new KFX700, but that ain't gonna happen for awhile. I'd settle for a flagpole for the hauler complete with strobe light and an original flag to go with the Stars and Stripes I already have. Oh yeah, dunefreak! DDR stickers for the back window of my Burb and Davey's Ford, please!!
  16. GREAT to have a forum like this to go to, huh!!?? Sweet Site :jester: Good luck!
  17. Kitcat, let me say you are doing all the right things....asking questions, doing the research, yadda yadda yadda! When we started shopping for our t/h, we were looking for something we could tow with my Burb, didn't even look at the 5th wheels. Already had a 24' travel trailer, but needed transport for the toys we started collecting. The 28' REALLY pushed the tow capacity, so had the salesman looking into getting the queen bunks in a 24' tongue tow. THEN, I just so happened to walk into the Tahoe Transport we now own and knew then and there this was the one!! Told the salesman "I have to buy a truck!" (This was in the spring) Started shopping for the truck online, found one in Orem Utah, won the bid. Shopped online for trailers to compare price, etc., found the EXACT same model in Washington state for $8k cheaper, printed it out, took to Johnnie Walker for a price match and they did!!! All said and done, we walked out of there with the fully upgraded t/h, installed hitch, sales tax, all for $5k less than the original invoice price. Took 6 months but had it out for Halloween weekend 2004. Moral of the story: Good things happen to those who wait and... We didn't settle for something we would already be lookin' to replace!!
  18. COOL!!! Been waiting to find someone to airbrush "Home Away From Home" directly on the tailgate of my toyhauler! We need to chat.....
