  1. Great relaxing weekend. The "super bloom" flowers were spectacular. I always love the spring blooms out at the dunes, but with this years super bloom they were even more incredible. Went on only one ride, but it was a nice long one with Joe Duner in the lead, and I took the Ace over and up places I never thought I would get it. I must be getting more comfortable behind the wheel. Slept in until 10:00 this morning, must have needed that rest, haven't been feeling 100% lately and the down time was much needed. Some Super Bloom pics
  2. We are hoping to be out Friday evening through Sunday. As long as our hauler fuel lines get fixed!
  3. Thank you Paul! We @ GTP Off Road appreciate your shout out! We wish we could carry everything. We knew from chatting up the "new kid's on the block" that they carry a lot of the nuts and bolts, some VW parts, etc that we just don't have. We would rather send you in the right direction, then make you look all over the place. I hoped they had your part and have your weekend saved. As duners ourselves, part of the reason we love being at Dumont on the holiday's, instead of chilling with our friends in camps and enjoying the weekend, is that we love helping other duners out. I am sure that @@Mike @ GTP OFF ROAD and @@Adam @ GTP Off Road will agree!
  4. GTP Off Road will be out on Vendor Row for the last vending weekend of the season! Stop by and say hello and check out what we have. We'll have some jersey's and gloves on blow out clearance, as well as some other items.
  5. Finally had a moment to go through my photos. MLK was a relaxing weekend for us. Only went on two rides the whole weekend. We did stop by and check out the races for a little bit. Some photos from the weekend...
  6. @@FE135 Neal did a really nice write up on the GTP Off Road guys, Mike and Adam. Starts on page 74! http://utvsportsmag.com/digital-magazine/vol3-issue1/?utm_source=UTV+Sports+Vol3-Issue1+#1&utm_campaign=UTV+Vol3-Issue1+Email1&utm_medium=email
  7. Not sure what dune raspadoo was at, but is was chilly we even had a day time fire going. But what a blast of a weekend. So much fun I didn't even take out my camera! Campfire dancing NYE, fun times! Laying in the hauler with a hangover on NYD, relaxing with movies. Spending 10 out of the past 14 days at Dumont, priceless. Only went on two rides, but after the epic weekend of Christmas, I really didn't care. I did get a bit pissed though, when some group, a motorcycle and a couple RZR's kept cutting me off to get in the line I was already bringing up the tail end in! Find or make your own line jerks, don't cut off the person already in the line to join it! Not once, but 3 times! Seemed very quiet out there, talked to a couple rangers while waiting for Beefy Boys dinner on Saturday and they said it was a quiet weekend, no incidents. We did make it over to comp NYE for a minute, place was pretty dead with only a couple groups out there, this was about 10ish. Played the saran wrap game on Saturday night, that was good laughs! All and all a great weekend of camp fun!
  8. We traditionally head out to Dumont during Christmas week. This year we headed out Tuesday night and spent 5 glorious days out in the sand. Love the emptiness of the dunes, and counted about 10 - 12 rigs altogether, until Christmas day. The full moon, sunsets and stars were spectacular. The wind on Christmas eve night, made for some buttery smooth dunes for Christmas day and with the temp at 69 degrees and very little breeze, the day was perfection! Saturday's windstorm was crazy! We hung out in the hauler, cleaned and fixed some things, mounted some photos and relaxed with cocktails until we could stand it no longer, then we braved the wind and headed out to play. Laughing so hard at the craziness of being sand blasted. It was a great trip! All the windy conditions made for some excellent photos of the ripply untouched dunes. When we headed out this afternoon, the crowds were already starting to roll in. Don from Dune Mart, CA Casuals, and Desert Bling were already set up on Vendor Row and Beefy Boys Facebook page said they were going to be out Weds - Saturday of the New Year weekend. GTP Off Road won't be vending that weekend, but we will be out there playing for back to back weekends. So if there is anything you need from them, hit them up Monday and Tuesday. Some photos from the weekend..
  9. I headed up memorial hill this past weekend... I hadn't read through this thread until just now. Did some clean up up there and noticed the new memorial, so I took a shot... Sorry for your loss.
  10. Pretty sure that Don with Dune Mart will be there. He was there last year, along with a couple of the shirt people and Beefy Boys. I stopped by last year to visit and see how sales were in case we made a mistake not being there and the general consensus was, good choice, most vendors barely made enough to cover the cost of being out there. So not sure how many will be there. But I have seen Don with Dune Mart out there on MLK when there is no one else.
  11. Its in our plan, but we will be coming off 5 days out there for our traditional Christmas, be out there Tues night 12/22 - 12/27. New Years is usually so quiet we don't even bother vending, just not enough people. A lot of vendors don't go out that weekend.
  12. It was a sad weekend on Vendor Row for certain with smaller crowds this year for Thanksgiving. Usually our busy days are Friday and Saturday, this year Saturday was more like a Sunday, talking with some of the other vendors, they felt it also. Even Hog Haven packed up Saturday night and left, as did several others. There is a new parts vendor out there (if they come back) good news for all you VW guys, they carry a wide variety of VW parts as well as nuts and bolts, like Doghouse used to back in the day Mike and I went out Tuesday night and Mike actually took the day off, so that he could enjoy his birthday on Wednesday. We hit the dunes first thing Weds morning and had quite a few close calls, with people cutting in-between us, I guess people think its not a line if theres only two of you and its ok to cut in-between? I wasn't right on Mike's a$$, but I wasn't that far behind either. I actually had to put my hand out to stop someone in a Yamaha XYZ, to let them know I was coming and following behind Mike. It was crazy! Everyone really needs to pay attention in the dunes. Couple times if I hadn't stopped, I would have been ran into. But the afternoon we hooked up with JoeDuner and had a great run. Then after lunch I stayed in and Mike went out for a faster run. Thursday - Saturday it was work work work. Friday night JoeDuner and a couple others came over to hang out at the fire and then several peeps from McFlurry camp came over Saturday night to have a nice birthday celebration for Mike and hung out by the fire. It's nice to have visitors on the vending weekends. We miss the company of camps, so enjoy the company. Sunday we got up and packed it in. I only saw the helicopter once as well, we heard something about someone going over comp and rolling 14 times but didn't hear about any injuries. A couple photos from one of Mike's birthday rides... and the full moon
  13. These are my kind of Christmas lights! Happy Holidays everyone!
  14. Dang we are planning one week behind you, 13th - 15th.
  15. GTP Off Road will be out on Vendor Row. Feel free to bring Mike and I a plate of thanksgiving dinner I have no time to make our own working the booth It was an awesome surprise and greatly appreciated last year when some generous peeps brought us some turkey dinner with all the trimmings!
  16. Great to meet you Brent! Happy you found a group to camp with!
  17. Let's hear how your Halloween weekend went! We were busy at the GTP Off Road booth. Vendor Row was lacking in the vendor department... Hog Haven, Funnel dude, Big Belly Crew, and Racin Dirty all missing in action. However Grandpa's Ice Cream was delish and Beefy Boys took care of our food needs. There were some other new T-shirt places and another parts booth, that looked like they had a lot of those small parts, nuts and bolts. We had some stuff stolen right out of our booth on Friday. So Saturday we had to make sure we had one person out watching the booth and people in it at all times. Makes it difficult to get something to eat, or have one person leave for any reason. So sorry if we were a little slow on Saturday and the line was long. Leaves such a bad taste that you can't trust people walking into your area, when you are out there working hard to bring people something that might save your weekend at a duners ourselves price. Mike dropped me off on Wednesday morning, then turned right around and went back to town to pick up the vending trailer. So I putted around the lower dunes while waiting for him to return, so we could start getting set up. But he was delayed in town, so I cruised out and did a sunset ride solo, found a good place to chill and watch the sun go down. Then it was work work work.. We packed everything up as the trick or treaters came by. So many we ran out of candy we had three bags of 100 thinking that would be enough, sadly we had to turn kiddos away. All the costumes were so cute! We were closed today, so we went ahead a took one cruise to the N Pole and man was it rough! Peeps were definitely out there enjoying the dunes this weekend. Hung out for a little bit more to make a pizza on the pizzazz and down went the gennie! Thankfully our friend's Brandon and Laurie were still out there, so they invited us to have lunch and we headed to their camp. Awesome peeps! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and supported us on vendor row. We wish we could have every part that you might need, but it is pretty impossible to stock everything. This year we tried to have a wider variety of products and ran out of some items. We should have even more on Thanksgiving weekend. If you stopped by to say hello and we didn't have time to chat, we apologize. We wish we had time to chat with everyone, but it just gets hectic sometimes. We do always try to have a fire going after we close, and visitors are always welcome to stop by chat and enjoy a beverage. I hope all your weekends went well! Saw the hell twice nooooo good A couple pics from my sunset cruise.
