  1. This was GTP Off Road's last trip out on Vendor Row and the rumor that I heard was that the other small parts truck was done as well (But I am just repeating hearsay) BLM has gotten stricter on what can and can not be sold on Vendor Row. It has affected several vendor's businesses. The guys that bought the old Beefy Boys food truck ( they haven't decided on a name yet) did a tremendous job on their first trip out! Their food was good, good sized portions at a great price. I hope they are just as supported as Beefy Boys was in the past! There were numerous vendor's missing from the past years. Hog Heaven hasn't returned for the last two years. Grandpa's Ice cream disappeared two years ago, as well as a couple of shirt groups, including Racin Dirty and Big Belly Crew. I remember back in the days when Vendor Row was full on both sides.... Vendor row seems to be dying more and more every year... Maybe that Amazon Drone Delivery Service will hurry up and get Dumont on it's area... (sarcasm) It is a ton of work just to make it to vendor row and then when you are out there, you are working from sun up, to well after sun down. Set up, tear down and helping customers. This year the missing included: The Short Bus Ice Cream For Life t shirts SPK Offroad Jerico something, they sold a variety of items, flags, lights, t-shirts The RV Rental and T-Shirt place The only vendor's this year were: GTP Off Road (last time, we are done vending) DuneMart California Casuals Desert Bling Baker Ice which now owns the old Beefy Boys truck Another ice truck, but they were intermittent Dirty Mindz and the curly fries and corn dogs place (I don't know their name) As for GTP Off Road, it takes a tremendous amount of work to go out there and vend. They have to break down the entire show room and load it into the trailer, haul it out there, in years past, either Mike or Adam would have to make two trips, just to get the vending trailer to the dunes, this year, I was able to drive it out. Then unload everything and reset up the show room when they return. They have to turn work away the week before any vending trip, just to get ready. GTP Off Road is a two person small business (I only help out and have a full time job.) The guys are wanting to concentrate their time on more shop work, improving further their customer service, product inventory and turn around time in the shop, getting rides ready for those big holiday weekends. My own personal opinion, and not the opinion of GTP Off Road (I am only a hired hand) There were numerous trips where we spent more of our time out on vendor row watching people walk by, then helping people out. We are duners ourselves and truly enjoyed being able to save people's weekends and be there when they needed us. That was where the joy was in it, duners helping duners. If we weren't vending, we would have been duning. They did not excessively mark up their prices just because they were on vendor row, they kept their prices the same as in town. I heard it frequently, "buy it in town or on amazon, the prices are over marked just because they are out here." If the vendors aren't supported, they won't keep coming. They can't stock every nut and bolt and part, and bring it out, they wished they could have, but it's impossible. I hope that another parts person or operation steps up and fills in the gap.
  2. Yeah I renew mine yearly, since I camp and backpack in CA frequently and its required. It's basic common knowledge. As long as one person has one in your camp, you should be covered. Both Mike and myself have one, just in case.... I know people are saying you don't need one in Dumont, but just keeping my butt covered. No harm in tossing a copy in the hauler
  3. The date farm is not a good idea, since they use the money they make to attempt to keep us duners out of Dumont. @ynot can give you more information. @Landsandcrab you had a post awhile back about exploring the area around Dumont not in the sand, maybe you can give more information?? If I remember right it was a great post.
  4. What a perfect weekend in the sandbox! We headed out Friday afternoon after a half day of work. We couldn't wait to get back into the home dune sand box. We love our summer dunes, but there's nothing like having sandticipation for the going home to dunes that are just a few hours away. We arrived at 4:45 PM and couldn't wait to shred some sand! As soon as we rolled in we dropped the door and headed out to check it out. The dunes were PERFECT! No tracks, ripples and rollers! Our friend thought Mike and I were going to have a dunegasum on the radio and as we talked back and forth about how EPIC they were, repeatedly! We had a nice small little camp of friends and friendsamily. The W kicked up on Saturday and cleaned up all of the tracks we had laid the night before. Our friends had their Can Am Max out in the sand for the first time, his first time driving in the sand EVER! And only his 3rd time in the driver's seat of an off road vehicle! And he WHEELIED THE MAX!!!!!!! Our other friend had his X3 out for it's maiden voyage, so Mike had his teacher hat on and we spent the weekend easy breezy cruising, and finding jump and wheelie spots when the sun was directly over head. While we were out playing, we saw a Max tip over, so in true duner fashion we rolled up, made sure they were ok and got her back up right. She had never driven in the sand before and had tried to make a tight fast turn, so we gave her some pointers and she was on her way. We made the usual epic sunset cocktail run to the north pole slicing through the dunes like butter. We hung out and watched the sun set before heading back to camp for dinner and the first campfire of the season! It's not officially a season starter, until there's a camp fire! Up early, before sunrise, for breakfast and one last dune run, before packing up and heading home. The dunes were perfectly AH-Mazing!! Couldn't ask for better conditions. It was so nice to get in a play weekend, before they get all tore up by the masses! Some pics from the weekend.
  5. The W is erasing all the tracks we've been laying down today.
  6. You got it! I'll post more!
  7. Where are the summer dunes?????? Not at Dumont!! Perfect sand, rollers, haven't run across any weird summer shelves! Sitting on the edge of the Super Bowl.
  8. GTP Off Road 3630 N 5th St #100 North Las Vegas, NV 89032 702-657-5991 If you need them for Halloween, give them a call, they might be able to add them into the tires they are bringing to Vendor Row.
  9. Spent last weekend adulting... Final touches on everything. Clean and shiny, packed and ready for Friday at 2:30! Tick tock... tick tock... tick tock... Dumont bound!!!!
  10. Heading out Wednesday through Sunday. GTP Off Road will be set up on Vendor Row. I believe this will be our ONLY vending trip of the season this year. We'll be having a massive blow out sale on most of our vending wears, jersey's, gloves, bags, some accessories, etc... We'll have the usual tires, wheels, axles and such as well. However this may be our last vending trip ever, so we are wanting to move some of the items out of inventory.
  11. I am oh so ready!!! It's going to be nice to be able to leave work on a Friday evening and jet out to the dunes for a quick weekend! They started locking down days off, so my summer dunes have been few. One last trip to Little Sahara the last week of September and our first trip is planned for the 13th of October.
  12. It's time to start reading the other dunes section... lol... I know I'll be posting another trip report from Little Sahara Dunes in Utah! Some of us dune all year long, it's just time to go north.
  13. Pretty cool stuff. Love seeing the production stuff out there! And that sand looks PERFECT! Why does it have to be so damn HOT!!!

But I won't.. this time.. @JeepingJay36 sounds like you are making the Dumont Clean Up great again! Definitely looking forward to the years to come. Beach party looked like a blast!

  20. GREAT quick weekend! Thank you Pete for the invite to camp, it was nice having a smaller camp group. And I got to meet some awesome new peeps! That firework show was better then most I have seen on the 4th of July, wish I could post my "live" Facebook video. Crazy! The Supercross on Saturday was awesome as well. Thank you for also leading a great ride Saturday afternoon, I was super worried about keeping up! Love that crazy ride of mine! Mike has been working with me on how to wheelie the Maverick and I was finally able to get a couple good ones! I wish he had got the really good one! THAT was super fun and BADASS!!! We also went to one of Mike's friends weddings on Saturday afternoon, evening. What a beautiful ceremony with an amazing background! So much fun, I only took a couple of shots.
