April... 2006. Long hibernation.... :dance: FWIW... I'm the guy that shot and edited those stories for Fox-11 in LA. I hope you liked it! If you look closely, there's a shot of a little kid on a green 50 quad... that's my daughter I've been an offroader for years, some of my fondest early memories are being in the dirt with my dad in Anza-Borrego. It was an honor to be able to put together something that wasn't "look at these idiots" but rather an evenhanded examination of the issues facing the sand (and offroad) community. Also... this Christmas will be the two-year anniversary of Kyle's death at Glamis. So for everyone headed out to play over the holidays, please be careful...

The one that Prowlers has seen, used to be in our Glamis group. He added 6 or 8 feet to a 40' 5'er. It looked a little funky because the body lines didn't match but it worked. Basically welded an extension to the framerails, took the ramp door and frame and moved it to the back, then enclosed the whole shebang. If you've ever seen one of those ramp-door tent setups it kinda looked like that, but made out of corrugated aluminum. IIRC he took it off when he sold the trailer. I think he was having issues with the frame extensions not going back far enough along the existing frame, and the extension was drooping. But it came off pretty cleanly. Edit: I thought you could go 75' with doubles?

Conspiracy Theory: Here's the scenario. It's a setup alright, but not how you might think. Let's say OJ has been selling memorabilia on the black market to evade the $30-mil-plus civil judgment against him. Maybe one (or more) of the guys in that hotel room that night has been stiffing OJ on his cut. Or maybe OJ thought he should get a bigger share. Whatever the reason, OJ was headed to that room to discuss the situation and somebody in that room was thinking ahead. So, the tape's rolling... "go ahead and cry, OJ... and this little gem goes to the police." A little blackmail between friends, always a nice thing. But OJ doesn't show up to chat. Instead he comes in with goons and guns. That blows everything out of the water, a very-pizzed-off somebody leaks the tape, and voila-- here we are. Supporting evidence: the very existence of the tape in the first place shows that somebody knew something was going to happen. Also, OJ has never made a peep about any of his stuff being stolen. That's not the kind of thing that stays quiet. My prediction: the criminal charges evaporate... look for income-tax evasion charges down the road. That's what'll put him away, where he should have gone a decade ago. Anyway, my $.02...

Click here for updates on the Zaca fire... currently 240,000+ acres (375 square miles!), 90% contained. One outbuilding lost... amazing. It's currently the second-largest wildland fire in California history, the first being the Cedar fire in 2003.
