    I just wanted to post an update since I have not listed the cleanup date yet on our events page or calendar. I got with Jason from Friends of Dumont Dunes and he still needs to talk with BLM as far as if, how, and when cleanup will happen this year. It will probably still come together sometime in the middle of March, but that is all I have right now. I will definitely post an update and date as soon as it all gets decided on. I know some people have been asking so I wanted to post what I knew so far.

    They did great! It felt good to once again pull the front tires up on some of those rollers now that I have traction. The razorbacks were a huge improvement too. Much more responsive and it sticks to the dune when side hilling. 🤟🏻 Ahh that was you guys? Damn. Would have be great to finally meet you. 👍🏻

    Hi there Simon. It was me who published the article. Larry Short of Short Sand Cars built me that car. He never offered plans and is no longer building sandcars. That's why the site is gone. I sold the car about 10 years ago.

    Good looking chassis! Looking forward to seeing the build. I might have a set of 10" stroke shocks for sale soon. I bought new ones with compression clickers installed but they are on backorder. Once I get them I'll let you know when my old ones are available for sale. They are Fox 2.0 coilover shocks, 10" stroke, with piggyback reservoirs. Shocks only, no springs.

    The first holiday weekend of the new year is right around the corner, Martin Luther King Weekend. What better way to start the new year than to get out to the sandbox and enjoy some good ole outdoors? MLK weekend is one of the 5 official holiday weekends when you need a holiday season pass (or buy a $40 holiday weekly pass at the entrance). Even though it is a holiday weekend, it is never super busy and many of us consider this a "duners holiday". Don't expect huge comp hill parties or rookies leaving their trash everywhere, just duners who like to dune! If you've been keeping an eye on the weather, it looks as though Dumont will already see highs in the 70's for MLK. Get out, be safe, and have some fun! 👉 10 day Dumont weather forecast ☀️

    We used to go on and on about this topic back in the day on here. My thoughts.... It's pretty dumb. The finger dune has always been used by duners and for people to cone it off and expect it to be a safe place for their kids to play is just plain reckless. No, duners shouldn't blast down the dune since it is close to camps, however if I see a dune I'm gonna driving down it. If the cones are in my way and make it unsafe for me to drive down the regular traffic pattern, I don't adjust what I'm doing. Those cones may get knocked over. I always look out for people hanging out or playing on the dune though. Those people who cone it off need to realize that it's a path travel and everyone always has to transition over it to get to the dunes.

    March 13th weekend a handful of old school buggy guys are getting together near bathroom 8. There has been discussion on our Facebook group about it. This is not DDR's event, but I figured I'd put the date up so people know about it and can join in. It's open to whoever has an old school buggy.

    We use Wyze cams. They're cheap, work great and are pretty damn reliable. No monthly fee either. As long as you have wifi signal in your hauler, it'll work. You can always put an extender out in your garage for better signal.

    Despite the wind and 2020, Buggy Roundup 8 was still a hit. I am thankful we were all still "allowed" to get together and have this get together despite everything going on right now. Much thanks to the Barstow BLM for approving it and everyone for coming out. We didn't do taco nigh because of the flu thing, but we'll bring it back next year. It's probably best we didn't do them anyways because of the W. Can you imagine how that would have been trying to cook and serve 200 people in the wind? It all worked out for the best.
