  1. What's the longest you would go percentage wise before you change your fuel filter? Mine's at 38% now, is 20% too long to wait?
  2. Thinking about getting one. Have been reading everyone's posts about what they have and what they like. Lots of talk about Nikon and Canon, but I never hear anyone talk about Olympus. Have always had good luck with Olympus cameras. Looking at the 12.3 megapixel E-600. Anyone have any thoughts?
  3. Thanks Andy for putting that link in!
  4. Saw DDR mentioned in the travel section of todays paper. It was a pretty cool article on Dumont.
  5. Anyone going? They finally moved the Laughlin Leap to Friday night!!!!!! Hoping to be down there for the whole weekend

  7. We have an 06 WW 36ft fifth wheel. We didn't switch wheels, but just like OGP said, E rated tires are a must!
  8. FMX pioneer Mike Cinqmars dies1999 X Games silver medalist and FMX originator was 31 years oldComment Email Print Share By ESPN Action Sports Archive motoworld.com Mike sits down for an ESPN interview in 1999. Freestyle motocross pioneer Mike Cinqmars passed away today at 2:08 a.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner's Department. His cause of death is still unconfirmed, and an autopsy is scheduled for sometime next week. He was 31. Mike "Cinq" Cinqmars was one of the originators of freestyle motocross. At the first Freestyle event at the 1999 X Games, Cinqmars grabbed the silver medal, finishing just below Travis Pastrana and beating out the Metal Mulisha's Brian Deegan. But it wasn't until Cinqmars started filming with MTV for "Senseless Acts of Video," jumping over his two-story house in Apple Valley, Calif., that the mainstream really took notice. In a 1999 interview with ESPN.com (then EXPN.com), Mike talked about the start of his career. "I pulled the house jump off perfectly, then I loaded my bike up and headed up to [san Francisco and] got second at the X Games," he said. "I got the silver medal, and then from there the ball just kept rolling." After the house jump, Cinqmars went on to perform numerous jumps for MTV's cameras, including a spring break jump in Cancun, Mexico, where he launched over 100 feet off a stationary dock onto a makeshift sand landing. Jed Jacobsohn /Allsport Mike Cinqmars at X Games V during Moto X Freestyle (1999, San Francisco). He finished in second. Being the freerider that he was, Cinqmars would rather ride for fun and film than compete. "Films sit in people's homes forever, and people watch them all the time," he said in 1999. "Contests are cool, but I'd rather go shoot a vid. In contests, sometimes you do well, sometimes you don't. [Your talent] doesn't always show. And there's a lot of pressure, and I'm kind of over that. I want to just go ride and have fun." It was filming that ultimately took Cinqmars out of the freestyle motocross limelight for good. While wrapping up his own film, "35/01 My Trip," he suffered a crash that broke his back and ended his career. Said Cinqmars after the crash: "I was 35 feet up in the air coming down; I tossed the bike away and splatted on the back of the landing and snapped my back. I rolled down the hill but when I was lying there I could feel that my back popped out because I didn't lose consciousness. The first thing I did was move my toes. I knew I wasn't paralyzed, and that was a great feeling." Cinqmars experienced many ups and downs throughout his career, but he made it clear in interviews that he had reached his goals and was happy with his accomplishments. "Once I started making money, my biggest goal was to have a nice house that I could call my own and have all nice stuff in it, and to have a car and a truck, bikes and all that. I've got all that. I've got land, and it's good to be able to have all that. It was a big goal of mine and I've done it."
  9. Yeah, I made sure I got Aaron in there. I have alot more pictures but can't seem to figure out how to put them in the gallery.
  10. Went to the races and froze our butts off...but it was worth it! Several championships were decided on the last lap of the last race. There were also Metal Mullisha guys doing jumps in between and during some of the races. Here are some pictures:
  11. One of my neighbors tows a 24 or 25ft toyhauler with his class C. And I have seen several others do the same with class A. Pretty smart idea in my opinion, extra water, beds, bathrooms. And I'm all for kids having their own space, lol
  12. I'm not positive, but I think it's about 50 miles north of Vegas
  13. Got this e-mail from a friend of my husbands: You know, sometimes when I tell my friends and family that several times a year we get winds with up to 130 mph gusts I think they believe me but find it hard to imagine, well last night was one of those nights. All day yesterday and then last night the winds were just Howling and whipping and just brutal. You can hear the big gusts coming as they gain momentum rolling down the mountain and then slam into our house and just bend trees over. This morning Alice and I awoke to find our patio swing ripped to pieces, dog bowls and firewood blown across the yard into the fence, two trees blown over, and our 200 gallon steel water tanks that we water the Elk and Mustangs with were blown as far as 200 yards away through the brush. It is really something to experience, we spent the day and night with our fireplaces blazing and all doors and windows locked as we just listened to mother nature do her thing. We always watch the FOX 5 weather with Ted pretty and so we knew it was coming and were ready to stay inside and ride out with plenty of food and blankets to sit next to the fireplaces but sometimes campers just don't watch the weather forecasts and understand that when Ted forecasts winds with gusts up to 40 mph in Vegas and 50 mph down the Lake Mead/ Colorado river corridor that it means we will get gusts up to 130 mph. One of our neighbors has a wind chronometer and is the official wind gust measurer.Well last night the gusts reached 110 mph. There was only one family camping up here last night in a 32 foot travel trailer and it was hooked up to his, " Les", truck with 6 family members and 1 dog. The attached pics are what happened to them when that 110 mph gust hit. The wind gust ripped their trailer right off the truck hitch and rolled it 3 and a half times over 70 feet. Les said his dog was ejected and all the family members rode out the 3 1/2 rolls like some nightmare chaos. Nobody was killed or injured seriously but very banged up and bruised and in shock. Even after the initial rolling then they were still forced to take refuge in the cab of their truck till the morning. Les told me that he knew a low pressure system was coming through but did not know about the notorius Cold Creek Gusts. He is a beleiver now. Check out the pics. I rotated this picture to see better
  14. About ten years ago we lost the rear end out of our 1500 Sierra 4x4 towing a 25ft toyhauler loaded with just water.
  15. I have to agree with you about the dmv and old people with licenses. A few years ago I was parked (ironically) outside the dmv in Henderson. That was when you could park on Stephanie above the dmv. I had just finished inside and had walked around behind my truck but something in the bed of the truck caught my eye. At that moment I looked back to check traffic on Stephanie so I could get in and had just enough time to jump back on the sidewalk as a 70-something year old man plowed into the back of my truck doing at least 50. He told the cop he thought the truck was moving!!!! How was the truck moving if I was standing behind it???? I couldn't stop shaking for almost 2 hours. I asked the cop if he was going to give the guy a sobriety test and he said he didn't need to because the guy wasn't drunk. So now if I'm out and about, I give older people behind the wheel PLENTY of room. I know it's not fair to all older people to lump them in with the bad drivers, just like not all young people are bad drivers, but I do believe that when we all get to a certain age we need to be tested on not only our sight, hearing, memory of rules of the road, but maybe also our reflexes.
  16. Where at the lake did this happen?
