i was wondering when you would finally get tired of just going up and down the hill. duning is alot more fun. wish i could get out more often. im guessing it was probably more fun tinkering with the bike all the time. :D

I know there was a tread before this but cant find it. Neways, i have a 2007 raptor 700 that the sub frame is bent and bowed out on one side. I went to yamaha and a new sub frame is $487 and Champion motorsports said he could get OEM for $420. Does anyone have any suggestions for fixing or a place where i might find cheaper. Thank you ill wait for replies.

i sent you a pm a while back and never got a response. maybe you will see this. i have a frame machine with which i could maybe fix your raptor with. my number is 5064152

  6. when we saw that the trophy trucks were taking over 2 hours to make a lap we figured it had to be a rough course. thats less than 50 miles per hour average. alot slower than they usually run. well i cleaned up the upper loop of the course and i saw why. man that was some rough sh*t. i dont know how the stock bugs go through all that crap and they had to do 300 miles. thats one hell of a long day.

  7. that sounds good in theory but i have the worst luck with new electrical parts like the stator i bought for my warrior and ignition box for my kfx. both new and both bad. im screwed either way. :freakin_nuts:

  8. so the 70 was running great here at home. went to dumont halloween weekend. got up saturday and went to fire it up and after one pull it wanted to fire but after that nothing. really weak spark. thye spark plug wire was all wrapped up in electrical tape. unwrapped it and its all chewed up. not sure if thats the problem but need one anyway. figure i will replace that and go from there. may have points issues. i dont know. if anyone has an extra one let me kbnow. i found a new one for 60 bucks or so online. :D

  9. i have had rotten luck with anything electrical from stereo to cars and quads. i had to replace the stator in my warrior years ago and it went bad again a few years ago. replaced it with an oem unit so i didnt think it would have gone bad after just 3 years or so. after replacing everything but the stator including the pickup coil i finally replaced it again with a new unit from rm stator. it was hard as hell to start and never got a chance to ride the quad when i took it to the dunes. at least the company was cool about it. i sent it back to them and they said they put more ohmage in the pikup coil or something and sent it back. been running great since. bottom line, its a gamble on electrical but if the company stands behind thier product its all good. oh ya, my new pro com ignition box for my kfx 700 was bad too but they sent a new one without a hassle and its been running good since too. its tough when you buy new stuff to fix a problem and it should but doesnt fix the problem. :beercheers:

  10. if you want to see the battle at primm race this weekend up close and personal and are willing to spend all day saturday and sunday ouy there call me. i have a spot for you. dave, 702-506-4152. its going to be crazy non stop action all day both days :D

  11. the o ring wont cause a no start hot problem. it could just run lean and not idle right. wonder if the battery is a bit on the weak side and not getting a good enough spark while cranking hot. ever tried to jump it or try your buddies battery out of his 80? starter could be going bad too. we used to have one of those and the starter slowly took a crap. they wanted like 375 for a new one so i bought the 100 dollar pull start and put it on there. started first pull everytime. :D

  12. mine is pretty much stock except for the pipes, cool head and v force 3 reeds,k and n's straight off the carbs. i have 16 cc domes and it runs good on the 100 octane pump gas. i had done my own port job with the sport port template kit a few years ago. didnt really dune much better but the top end really came alive. had a loose spark plug issue when i let my boy ride it and the right cylinder was completley destroyed. he had never ridden a 2 stroke before. i still have the templates if you want to borrow them. a grinder and a saturday afternoon and you will gain a bunch on the top end. :D

  13. He said he won't be able to make it out till sometime next month when he has some time off.

Till then he said he'll try and get on the internet at a Flyin J or somewhere on the road to post here. (He drives a truck...for those that don't know ;) )

what happened with the helicopter deal? i thought he was pretty stoked about that. should be openings i would think for flying crews back and forth to oil rigs and such. or even here with all the canyon tours.
