  1. Just curious if anyone has a plastic welder? Are they pretty simple to use? Pro's/con's?

the adhesives these days are so good i quit messing with plastic welding long ago. 3M makes this stuff called superfast adhesive. i forget the part number but it works on alot of plastics. i used it on a quad fender on the backside with some fiberglass tape and its held for a couple of years. :D

  2. Sunday, mid day at Comp, we are sitting at the top getting ready to do some more helmet cam recording when my buddy points down the hill and yells...

Theres a blue and yellow qwad, under a big 4 seater LT car. The kid on the qwad was 14 and just racing up Comp when the LT came wheelie'ng up behind him and ran him over. I was one of the first on seen. The kid seemed to be ok, he was able to tell me what day it was, his name, etc. Sheriffs arrived about 5 minutes later as did some of the kids family and was taken down the hill.

Anyone know the outcome? We left after turning the kid over to the parents/Sheriff.

we were leaving about that time. an ambulance was coming in as we were going out. may have been why. hope he is ok.

  3. im going this friday but my wife just got a last minute gig to do on friday so she cant go out with me when i leave. anybody going saturday morning that wouldnt mind taking her and our 3 year old grandaughter with them? no big deal really, she can drive out, just thought it would save a few bucks on gas if they could hitch a ride. :D

  4. valves. had the same problem with my kfx700. was running great for a number of dune trips but one trip it just wouldnt start at the end of the day for one last ride. wouldnt even start cold without a ton of cranking and fiddling with the throttle. its a pain in the butt getting feeler gauge into that motor so i cheated. i loosened the valves enough to get it started and let it run until it got hot. adjusted each valve to where i could just feel a little bit of play in each rocker arm. left it at that and it runs great. not very scientific but it works. :D

  5. hey randy, was going to ask if your going. so far we are planning on going. not sure how the work schedule is going to work out for the wife and my daughter that weekend. im planning to come friday afternoon even if i have to come on my own. the rest can follow schedule permitting. :D

  6. not really. when the challenger came the camaro looked like sh*t.. sorry but coming off the best looking camaro ever, the 69, it was downhill from there. they really didnt look alike at all then. i can kick myself in the a$$ because 25 years ago i aquired a fairly rare i think a 71 or 2 challenger with a 383 that needed a little tlc for 400 bucks. had to sell it and got 800 bucks. woo hoo. sh*t man, wish i could go back in time. the new challenger looks badass and they are getting a hell of a head start on the camaro.

  7. At the end last seasion let a freind take the wifes bike out for a run, and it just stopped running didn't think to much about it. Because i dont ride this bike. It's always been just a all good around bike too have around. Not very fast but great for the kid's and her to have fun on. So this week decided to find out was going on. With this bike and found that the sprocket got broke off the cam and head got a little worked :laughing:post-3227-1215729707_thumb.jpg post-3227-1215729796_thumb.jpg' Should, I go back to stock or do a little hop up on it sense it,s all a part write now. Just don't know too much about these bikes to know if it's worth it or not to do like a stagg 1 cam mod and do like 40 over on the head :laughoff: or dose anyone know a good shop to take it too

i have a stock cam if you need it :D i put a powroll 365 kit in mine a few years ago. it was under 500 bucks for the kit i think, cam, piston, valve springs and tighter clutch springs. it ran better, the biggest differance was on the top end. climbing dunes didnt seem much better but over all it was worth the money.
  8. im hip to that. the silly wife and grandkid are leaving the 15th to ohio for a week and my boy just moved out today. i will have a whole week to myself. i would be down for a day trip on that weekend. and i dont give a sh*t how hot it gets. :D

  9. Im thinking for the LV guys, meet at the shell @ Blue Diamond & Dean Martin @ 3:30am like last week. Be in Dumont about 5am, maybe few minutes after.

you know if you take the 215 all the way to durango and cut over to blue diamond you avoid all the crap in between, like the slow speed limit through mountains edge and the extra stops :D

  10. of course i will be there. and course marking too. come on out and we can go mark it together. you know though that its in jean and not the eldorado valley since the bastards closed that off for us :argue: fyi i am on the board of directors for snore now :D

  11. Its not my raptor its petes.. :P I still havent torn my bike apart from the glamis trip. I have a small laundry list of things to do to even get it running properly and i dont know if i could get the parts in time.. Unless a local shop has a kehin gasket/oring kit on the shelf which i doubt they do.. I can try but i doubt ill be able to get it ready in time.. Plus i dont want to take a chance of it blowing up on a SUMMER ride with no one out there.. Would make for a b*tch of a recovery attempt.

just pull it apart and clean it and put it back together. it will be fine. you dont need new o rings and the gaskets unless they rip apart, they will be fine. :D i have had my banshee, warrior and polaris carbs apart a bunch of times. never bought a gasket or o ring. even if you need an o ring you can make your own if you just get one close to the same diameter. just cut it at an angle and super glue the ends when you install it. learned that trick years ago from a guy rebuilding compressors because i needed some on my compressor. it works great

  12. there were quite a few over there but the crime is high in that area plus i wanted to stay more to the EAST :D i realllllly want to get back over towards dunefreaks side of town.. :D

you cant go wrong there. we are in some really nice neighbor hoods here. you get what you pay for and its not thet expensive really. its changed alot in the last 9 years. for better and worse. [ no riding from the house to the desert anymore ]. but everything is super close. :D
