  1. We will be there, going to a wedding on sat afternoon in las Vegas.
  2. It is sad to see everyone having problems my friend is now a truck driver away from his family for 28 days home for 5 and then gone for 28 again and again this after a steady job for 17 years. But lets bail out banks and car makers instead of the general public. I heard something pretty interesting if the federal goverment gave every household $150,000.00 it would cost 3 billion dollars instead of 7 billion to bail out banks I must be stupid cause I don't get it. Now don't you think that would pump money into the economy and folks might spend some money DUH? But I'm just a working class dog. CEO's why don't you take a bigger pay cut rather than punish the middle class guy? I pray my wifes check cashes every two weeks, glad I have a job (no more 401k match anymore) but why don't we help the "regular" working person instead of big companies? Good luck to us all.
  3. Maade it out Sat. morning was surprised by the lack of crowd got our finger (for the kids) went on a couple of rides that were great. Sat. nite sat by our pretend fire since I forgot wood oops! wasnt that cold . Took the kids out to the Met some folks from Regulatorz nice flags (i'll be calling Richard) Sun. morning, went on a kick a$$ dune ride, went to vendor row Sand Crazed had some DDR stickers thank you. Then the wife went on a ride and coming off a dune hit some tracks in the shade and sun jumped and almost saved it but in the end came off the bike however after some rest and ibprofen (lol) she is banged up but thank god she is ok. I like the arm chair quarterback who rode up and said you shouldnt follow too close and the only reason this was said is after she came off the bike it went another 25 to 30 feet and ended up mounting another bike that was not moving (in our group), however in spite of that would like to say thanx to all who stopped. The sand was great, the company was awesome, the riding was perfect the crash sucked. See you on Prez. day.
  4. It's confirmed Billy gets off the road, have a club meeting and off to the dunes.
  5. Wow!!!!! That video was the sh*t, thank you for investing the time and effort that was bad a$$
  6. Wed. and Fri. on my way home from work saw alot of trailers and motorhomes heading out the 15. Arrived at Dumont Fri night was very surprised not to see a huge crowd (where did all those people go?). We got our little dune (for the kids) Sat very windy burned 4 Xmas trees watched a very interesting dune war . But Sunday was GREAT! went on several long dune rides (Thanks Julie for leading) and then time to go we were probably the last ones to leave it was dark missed most of the traffic on the 15 can't wait for Presidents day.
  7. Waited for a month to go back out, left Wed. nite :mog: wasn't bad hit a few spots of rain. Arrived about and hour late someone got our spot (finger by BR #6) we still squeezed in. Thurs. went on an adult and took the kids out to the South Pole, had TG dinner. Fri. More adult rides and took the kids out to the and dropped off the letters for Santa also took the kids to Comp. Fri nite ,wife woke up on Sat Did some more riding, went to Comp What was up with the guys in G strings? Sun. Went on a great dune ride in the am with Billy and Julie. Then the downer had to go home. A huge thanks to Mr.BDS650 and his wife (Brian and Turbo) for getting the kids out to Comp and the rides in the rail we owe you big. Had a great time with our friends, see you Prez. day.
  8. We will be there Wed. to Sun. with our family.
  9. I did take the online class from Wisconsin, It was very informative. As far as kids riding/driving. I saw a kid maybe around 14 or so hit a witches eye go over the handle bars and have the quad run him over and ended on top of his upper body (including his head). There were three other kids all around the same age riding together (no adults). All riding 450's the bikes looked too big for all of them. One of the things that was said in that class A high % of injuries to kids is caused by the child riding a bike thats to big and powerful for them. I stayed with the young man till his dad showed up luckily he did'nt seem to be seriously injuried but he was'nt feeling that great either. In my opinion an adult should have been with them or a sober adult( if you get my meaning).
  10. My observation on this whole thing is everyone needs to watch out for not only them selves but others as well. My group went on alot of dune rides this weekend, on occasion we came across others duning as well we were very respectful as were the riders we came upon. I have seen Comp on a busy night and it looks like a free for all (buggies and quads or qwads). I know when I go up Comp (during the day) I try and be as aware of my surroundings as much as possible, I don't want to be in an accident or cause one I'm sure everyone feels that way. A friend of mine told me several years ago at night (busy nights) buggies and qwads would race up at the same time qwads would turn to the left buggies to the right. Maybe thats something that would prevent alot of the close calls. I don't see buggies more at fault than qwads or vice versa, I see both make mistakes but if we all take a minute and and access the situation we can all enjoy the greatest show on earth. Thats just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions(opinions are llike a$$ holes we all have one and they all stink Except mine, lol) and maybe it would'nt have prevented this accident but maybe it will prevent others. See you on TG P.S. I like the qwads spelling, funny!!
  11. First off had a blast. My family and another family went out Wed. night got the end of a finger near bathrooms 3, 10, 11. The rest of our group got there on Thurs. night. Kids had a blast on their little dune all weekend. Took the kids out trick or treating on friday night at vendor row, wanted to say thanks to all the vendors giving out candy the kids loved it. Went on alot of dune rides saw no problems everyone we came across on the dunes were riding very safe and watching out for others. The only problem we had were the people in the 2 camps next to us were actually riding through our camp that was coned off (Coned of so the kids could ride up 3/4 way up the finger) Luckily our kids were not involved in an accident with these idiots they may have had a problem . People accessed the dunes at the top of the finger all weekend long (which we expected thats why the kids were allowed to only go up 3/4 way) that was no problem but to have people go thru our camp pissed me off Never been there when it rained it was a different type of sand riding, watched some buggies jump that was very cool. Overall it was a great weekend. Thanks to Billy and Julie for another great weekend (as usual). Hopefully everyone that had an accident out there is ok. Will be out there for TG.
  12. 35 hours and counting way to long since we have been in the sand. We have been working on the MH and bikes for about a month. It will probably go way too fast but I don't care. If anyones making the rounds for or with kids we will be around BR #3 look for the Laker flag. :mischevious:
  13. Welcome, I am an old fart just started going to Dumont a year ago. Per my friends I would stay on the flats. None of my bikes have been checked for a spark arrestor (they do have them). One thing I can tell you is the people I have ran into (at Dumont) and on this site are and have been very helpful. I take my boy's out and have had great times even at the big dunes, we try to get a finger for the kids and they ride all day long. Arriving Wed. hopefully by bathroom three (finger,Look for the Laker flag ). Hope that helps, one old fart to another LOL.
  14. Hi everyone, This will be the first time out on the actual night of Halloween, is it a custom to take our kids camp to camp to trick/treat or is it one of those things thats done in your own camp. Thanks for any info Tim
